If Yelp.com permitted me to award a 10-star rating, I would award Sound Rooter & Plumbing (""Sound Plumbing"") with 10-stars. We had a water pipe burst in our bathroom, after normal business hours for most plumbers. I called Sound Plumbing at approximately 6:15pm and spoke with Chrystal: by 6:30pm we had received a budget and commitment for a NLT 7:30pm plumber show time. At 7:00pm Zach arrived and when I arrived at his vehicle, Zach, a broad smile on his face, introduced himself and held out his hand to shake my hand ... I immediately thought 'this company cares about their customers!' Zach completed the repair(s), despite my many questions throughout the process, in less than an hour; just before leaving, Zach again held out his hand to shake mine and again thanked me for the opportunity to provide his expertise and services.

Plumbing it's such a difficult thing to hire for. I feel like every time its a dice roll. They were nice enough and were one of the few companies that would give me an estimate on the phone. Some won't even ballpark you. Told them we're selling out house and had some pretty severe root intrusion and had a video I could send from the inspector. They said it wasn't necessary but that they could take care of it. They were on time, but only have a hydro jet which couldn't take care of the problem. Wish I would have known that before I hired them. Had someone else come out with an actual rooter, and multiple sizes of rooters to get the job done. So for bigger jobs this is not your guy he doesn't seem to own the necessary equipment. Still have to pay the $500 invoice. And received 3 emails about it in 1 week. So they're sure to get paid, but not get your job done.

We had a pipe leak under our sink. I requested a quote with yelp and Marcus got back to me very quickly asking for a picture of the problem. He quoted the repair quickly and we scheduled an appointment for the following morning. He was on time, quick, explained what he was doing, AND the final price matched the quote. Can't ask for more!

We had Sound Roosters and Plumbing come in this morning to unclog our kitchen sink. When we called to make the appointment they said it would only cost $225 for the unclogging. When they came the plumber said the main connector had been cut off, he said he had to put in a new plumbing part to connect it to the unclogged one which connects to an additional pipe which connects to the sink. We are in the middle of a full kitchen renovation and the only thing we asked for was the unclogging. Without my authorization, he added a pipe, which turns out that it hadn't been cut off but disconnected, without telling us how much it would cost and some lady came in with the invoice and charged us $454.56 for 10 minutes of work. I wish I could give a minus rating for their business and bad local business practice.

Sound Rooter & Plumbing is excellent to work with. We have used them twice now. In 2018, they installed two natural gas fittings, one for a new gas range, and one for an outdoor gas grill. They walked us through how to bleed the new lines. The two appliances still work flawlessly.

We hired them again to fix a backed up main pipe from the house, and we are glad we did! Marcus and Chrystal are very easy to work with and accommodated our busy schedule. After a 5pm phone call, they came out the next morning and had the backup fixed in less than 30 minutes. The price was very competitive with other companies. They advised not getting the camera inspection (an extra fee) unless there were problems clearing the clog or if we've had clog issues before. They even gave us some info on the system that was used years before we purchased our home to convert the house from septic to sewer.

I highly recommend them, and will work with them again in the future!

A recommended review of Sound Rooter & Plumbing included a photograph of a problem that could have been a twin of our problem -- water pouring up from the grass and cascading down the sidewalk. So we called SR&P first and they said they could come the next afternoon and Chrystal and Marcus were right on time. They found a leaking connection in the supply pipe leading to the house from the water meter, so it was our problem, as the City of Olympia had said. SR&P fixed the leak and also capped off an old sprinkler system that we'd never used and which lacked a required backflow prevention device. Check the water consumption on your utility bill -- if it suddenly seems to spike, you may have an ""invisible"" leak that eventually will get worse and costly. Call SR&P!

We called about having a few fittings swap out with a different kind this was our priority the hot water tank wasn't important at the time. We had drywall going in which the fittings needed to be swapped out and the water lines hooked up. They explained they wouldn't come out to Hoodsport only to swap out a few fittings if they were installing a new hot water tank they would. Which we actually needed one of those installed as well so we went ahead and agreed to them coming out. They spent a total of about one hour and half onsite. They proceeded to install the hot water tank and then told me that they might have to come back to replace the fittings. I was irritated because I made it clear that wasn't important at the time what was important is getting the water lines hooked up. Only after making a big deal about it did they go ahead and swap out fittings and hook the hot water tank up. Yes, we agreed on a price over the phone because that's what we assumed that it would cost anywhere that you went. But. it wasn't until after looking at the invoice and calling other places did we realize that we were ripped off and taken advantage of because of our time crunch. We were charged $2500.00 to have 1 hot water tank and 4 fittings swapped out which was $60.00 and took him 10 minutes. We were charged $1200.00 for purchase, deliver, and install hot water tank and then on another line we were charged an additional $800.00 for what it says is new hot water tank, and $175.00 for parts to install, another $50 for which it says install kit. I do not recommend them at all.

Woke up this morning and realized we had water in both bathrooms and our master bedroom. Panicked, I reached out for 5 quotes from plumbers in the area. Sound Rooter & Plumbing was not only one of the only ones that offered a free estimate but they were extremely fast to respond. They were at our home within two hours and got our issue resolved within an hour and a half. They were SO nice and incredibly helpful. They found that our septic drain was clogged. Once it was cleared, we were going to accept an extra charge to have a camera go down to make sure it had been fully fixed and when the camera couldn't go down for one reason or another (I think it was the angle of our piping) they didn't charge us. They were very upfront about pricing and we could tell that they weren't out to take all us for as much as they could, which is rare in this type of service. I greatly appreciated the service and such a prompt response. I will definitely be calling them for any future plumbing problems!
