I have now hired Sostilio & Sons twice. Each time the work performed was outstanding. They arrived when the said that they would, performed the work as agreed upon and were able to take on additional items that came up during the day.

The first call was to install a water softening system and new water heater. In addition, they were able to remove some excess plumbing which made the entire setup more efficient and took up far less space in the basement.

The second call was to fix a rather large leak from the 2nd floor washing machine. They found that the emergency drain was in appropriate connected, and resolved that setup. Additionally, they re-balanced the appliances to reduce the vibrations while running, and also addressed a valve problem with our shower.

Ultimately, out of both experiences, I came with a comfortable level of trust with Sostilio & Sons, not only in the work performed but with the recommendations provided. I will definitely hire them again, and they will be my first call.

As good as it gets!

We had a broken garbage disposer. Mike was able to schedule us for the same afternoon I called. He arrived within the timeframe he said he would, did his job efficiently, made sure the replaced disposer is working, and cleaned up everything before he left.

Update after business owner's response: There's nothing wrong with a customer asking for your business license # to verify you're actually licensed. If you read any decent article on how to hire contractors or tradespeople it says customers should ask. I have a right to know if a business owner is licensed and insured before I go the bother of setting aside my time for an appt. or have you enter my home. As anyone familiar with the construction and rehab industry knows there are many unlicensed tradespeople doing work in people's homes.

A reputable business would not freak out by being asked if they are licensed and insured, especially if it is required. You should be happy to share that info with prospective customers because it sounds shady when you want to hide it.

The son called me back today after sending a Yelp message to set up an appointment. When I asked if they were licensed and insured as a company he sounded unsure. When I asked him to repeat the business license # so I could write it down he sounded nervous and then claimed they were ""too busy to take on work"" and promptly hung up on me! If you were too busy to take on work then why did you call me to set up an appointment?

Then he sent me a Yelp message saying they won't work with me because I am a real estate company (I'm not). I was just seeking services for my personal residence. Gee, I thought it was because you were ""too busy."" Can't even keep the lies straight.

For several weeks I've been trying to have our lawn irrigation company fix a broken back flow breaker for our irrigation system. After 2 missed promises to fix the problem, I called Sostilio and Sons. John called me back the same day. Michael came by and fixed the problem the next day. Great service from a very pleasant family owned company.

I can't say enough about this father son duo. I am grateful they came to hook up my gas stove. Then, I showed them 3 other plumbing jobs I needed done. Had a leaky outdoor spigot and Sostilio & Sons responded right away from Angie's List inquiry. We received fabulous, same-day service from Mike. He was meticulous in his work and clear about what needed to be done and the cost. Replaced the spigot and brought us to the 21st century with the new part. Could not be more pleased.

I called John with Sostilio & Sons on Monday for a quote to replace my exciting water heater tank with a tankless water heater. John was very responsive and from the several places I called, he was the only one who offered to come look at it first and give me an estimate. John works with his two sons (family owned business) and they certainly were very professional. They were able to schedule the work in a couple of days. The work they did was very clean and net. They showed up on time and were able to get it all done within 5-6hrs. Both John and his sons were very friendly and answered any question I had both regarding the new unit and other plumbing related projects I was thinking to do around the house. If I ever need a plumber in the future, they sure will be my first and only call. Highly recommended!!
