I just called to get an estimate for running a new line from our new appliances. I was transfered to Michael and he told me that they had enough work right out their back door so to come to White City just didn't make sense.

I was referred to SOS plumbing by the gas company Avista which will be running a meter to my house. I will be letting Avista know about my experience with SOS plumbing.

I had been looking for a plumber who could put in a new tankless hot water heater and a gas line for a stove. SOS quoted me half the price of another popular plumber in the area. The 2 gentlemen arrived on time, were very professional, and did a fantastic job. My new heater gives me constant hot water and I can't wait to buy a gas stove. I will definitely hire them for future projects. Thank you for a wonderful job!

Read on for details but bottom line is they started taking out our water heater without verifying if that is what we wanted and then tried to charge us for the hour of work it took to partially uninstall and then promptly reinstall our water heater. To their credit they ate the cost of the mistake (after I called and complained) which is why I'm giving this a 2 star but I can't say our experience was ""A-Ok"" warranting a 3 star rating and certainly not 4 or 5 star.

We had a leaky water heater, my wife called to try to get an estimate/advice about installing a tankless versus a tanked water heater as a replacement. The dispatcher was busy and immediately after my wife said ""we have a leaky water heater"" told her we'll send someone right out (great service there trying to help us quickly). My wife assumed that would be fine and could get the estimate from the person that comes out, doesn't think to explain further (that's our bad).

Once the plumber arrived my wife immediately starts asking questions about tankless and how much work it would be to replace our current unit with tankless etc. Gets a couple of numbers thrown out of 2500+ on tankless due to needing a bigger gas line and different venting vs 700-800 on just replacing with the same kind we had. During this whole thing my wife is corralling our 4 year old and our dog and trying to understand what he is saying and he at one point said something to like ""I need to go get a hose to drain this I'll be right back"". My wife not knowing what he is talking about and having never agreed to having the water heater replaced figures sure sounds fine go get the hose for whatever you need it for and says ""Ok"".

He comes back and starts draining the water heater while my wife is busy with the kid and dog and she is just thinking he has to drain it because it has gotten so bad that it might completely fail before we can decide on whether to go tankless or not. That was not what was happening though because just a couple minutes later he has another water heater out of the truck and our old one partially uninstalled and is insisting he told my wife he was going to get one and install it. That right there was the problem he never ASKED what she wanted and interpreted her ""ok"" to him going to get a hose as consent to install the same type of water heater rather than trying to find out what we wanted.

I had to take time off work to come home and deal with the plumber and then talk to the dispatcher at the company. To their credit they did not charge me for the ""work"" that was done (that is the reason this is a 2 star review) but even so acted as if they were doing us a favor by not charging us for something we didn't want (or ask for). At any point had anyone asked my wife what she wanted this whole thing would have been avoided. And this review also could have been 5*, if at the point my wife started telling him she never told him to do that, he had stopped appologized for the misunderstanding and asked her what she did want. Instead he got defense, blamed her for not understanding what he told her he was going to do (again ASK a customer what they want don't tell them) and then angrily reinstalled the water heater.

We have used SOS a couple of times. May 2015. They came out to unblock our sewer line and 4 days later we had to call them again. A week later again they had to come out. Our line was still blocked. My husband was here and noticed they were using a small blade and they had to go thru 3 times before it drained. We have a lg willow tree that always has a few roots in the line, they found none. A week later my husband tried to run water down the line and it was having problems. We have always used Roto Rooter, but they were short handed and couldn't get out. 2 months later we called roto rooter they use a lg blade to clean the line and they got the roots out. We can not recommend SOS.

SOS can't find what's wrong with our water heater. So he started measuring, looking around the heater (so he can say he spend time working on it, perhaps?) and told us we might need to replace a fairly brand new water heater. And then charged us $120 for a service call. Wow.

These guys were great. My kitchen faucett had an odd leak that sprung all along the side of the faucett due to old age. They showed up on time in the am on time, did the job in 15 min, and I made it to work early that morning! Also, with the new fixture, we now have a new sprayer that actually can be pulled out with ease! We have so much footage we can use it to wash the car outside. OK maybe not. Two thumbs up.
