Sontag Pump

I have a filter system, my water was smelling like rotten eggs. My filter company is out of town. I asked if there was someone local to help. I got Steve Sontag's number and called him. He said he didn't fix filters but he asked me about the problem. He told me that the salt I was using in the filter was the wrong one. I had spoken to several companies before and even the filter manufacturer and they all told me the salt I had was OK. I got the salt that Steve recommended and it worked! My water is not smelly. He gave me this info for free and was very helpful. If my pump ever breaks I will surely call him. Thanks Steve.

Woke up this morning and turned on the tap. Nothing. We have a well and I had instant nightmares of being days or weeks without water. On the recommendation of my plumber I called Steve Sontag and explained the situation. he told me he was by himself this week but would try to get down to us sometime during the day. Arriving midmorning he checked everything out and confirmed our 1979 vintage well pump had failed. Amazingly two hours later he had not only replaced the pump (at 180 feet down), replaced the piping to the pump, replaced the wiring and the control box and he cleaned up all the debris and removed it (180 feet of really messy PVC tubing plus the encrusted old pump. Although I am totally clueless about pump prices it struck me the charge for what he did was extremely reasonable. Highly, highly recommended!
