So there are reviews here claiming Snell is a scam. I can suggest even further that they are malicious and will sabotage your house to get you to buy services you didn't need at all. I'm not making this up, they have been servicing my homes ac and heat for about 3 years and I've heard literally everything that others here have described in their reviews, AC leaking? Big guilt trip about Freon? Talk about a hard sell, then come to find out this fall that somebody from Snell completely unwired the main pump out of the boiler at some point recently resulting in overloading the 2 Taco pump/switches and causing their subsequent failure. Dude, from Snell, who pointed out the wiring issue was rather stunned, ""they even capped the ends"" in amazement, of course they did, if they didn't they could have burned my whole house down. Nice eh? Clearly, its fine to steal but 2nd degree murder is too far for the Snell employee, gotta cap those wires.... Any star is way too much for this criminal behavior. To replace those 2 pumps will now cost me almost a thousand bucks, wonder how much Snell would have gouged me for....the mind does boggle at the duplicity. Now the Snell fellow will come in and say how sorry they are that I didn't like their service. Hey Snell guy! I'm going to chat with a lawyer about this one.....you owe me a thousand bucks, at least, not to mention the other dough which now I'm fairly certain was all for ""mirage"" problems, they only existed in Snells eyes, to make them money. Snell, unfortunately is part of a growing trend of corporations to buy up businesses like this and squeeze their customers out of their hard actually earned money if not ultimately their homes. I hate more than anyone to actually write such a truth. It hurts. I'm doin ya'll a favor here.

Bottom line up front: I will not get any service/product from Snell in the future.
This company is ridiculous. They canceled my maintenance service appointment twice; one is the night before the appointment day and the latter one was on the day of, during the time they are supposed to be at my property. They were supposed to show up from 8 to 12, but they called me to let me know that they cannot make it at 8:50ish. The reason for cancelation was that they got busy and I was not supposed to make an appointment on Saturdays. This rescheduled service appointment, because they canceled on me at the last minute at the previous time was made two months ago. This heat wave, therefore hot weather was on the news for more than a week. This business cannot make a promise with clients.
I bought an entire HVAC system from Snell for my townhome in 2022. Even though it was more expensive than other companies offered, they seemed to be professional and quick about their service/installation, I went with them. Also, since seasonal (summer and winter) maintenance is one way to keep the system to last longer, they convinced me to enroll in a monthly payment program, where I can get two services annually. They advertised as they are available on the weekends, but my recent experience is not what was advertised as.

I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone. This company is absolutely not trustworthy.

I called Snell to investigate why the furnace in my newly purchased home was shutting off randomly. My original appointment was scheduled for a Saturday, but on Friday evening around 4:30, they called to say they were short-staffed and needed to reschedule for Sunday. The technician showed up on Sunday, as scheduled. The technician initially told me my furnace was probably turning off due to the accumulated dust. He recommended that I opt for a maintenance service for $53, which I agreed to. At this point, I am paying $89 just for him to show up and then an additional $53 for the maintenance service. Shortly into the maintenance service, he informs me that dangerously high CO2 readings are coming from the furnace, which is probably due to cracks, and that I'll have to have the whole thing replaced. He also tells me that legally, he is required to shut the furnace down, but he'll call Snell to have them set up a consultation as soon as possible so that I can get it replaced immediately. I scheduled a consult for 6:00 Sunday evening. At 5:30, Snell called to tell me they were delayed and could not make it to my home until 6:45. I declined to reschedule; instead, I called a different company for a second opinion on my furnace. The second company performed the same maintenance-type service and found that everything was in working order and that, at most, I could schedule a duct cleaning or install a better filter. They also offer HVAC, plumbing, and electrical inspections for $189/year, which also comes with 10% off all services if necessary. I paid $189 for the annual inspection services, which also covered this visit.

When the tech called Snell to set up my consultation appointment, one of the first questions Snell asked me was if there was a second decision-maker who needed to be informed before I could make a decision like this. I am a single woman with a child, and I own my single-family home. I find it highly offensive that they would even ask me this question in the first place--do they ask MEN this question too? And I find it even more offensive in light of the second opinion on my furnace.

I do not recommend having Snell perform a service if you are a woman and will be attending the appointment alone.

Our family has called on Tim Snell Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning for many years. First time we used his service it was to install copper pipe throughout our entire house and he and his team did a beautiful job. I never thought plumbing could look beautiful but it does if you do it right. He has serviced and repaired the gas furnace in my current home and repaired all sorts of plumbing issues (sinks that won't drain, leaking faucets and toliets). Mr. Snell is professional, personable, and honest. If only he could be cloned.

We recently had a serious problem with a sump which required immediate attention. We called two plumbing companies which we had used previously but neither of them could provide same day service. Recalling an ad we had seen from Snell Heating and Plumbing which guaranteed same day service, we gave them a call. True to their promise, they said a technician would be out within a few hours. The technician, Bruno Alvarez, arrived, quickly diagnosed the problem and completed the repair in less than an hour. He was courteous and professional. Next time we need plumbing or heating work Snell will be our first call. In addition, we found their pricing to be very competitive. The Brokas, Alexandria, VA

I called Mr. Snell after reading the positive reviews on line, reading his web page and checking with the Better Business Bureau. Mr. Snell's fees were reasonable so I contracted with him.
Mr. Snell scheduled me in the next day. He repaired a leaking cooper pipe in my laundry room.
He even found another leak that I had not noticed and repaired it. Before beginning his
work, he covered the floor and my washer and dryer. The work was neatly done. Mr. Snell is friendly and professional. Before leaving, he provided me with a receipt for the work and several business cards. I have already shared the cards with my neighbors. I recommend him.

We have used Tim Snell now 3 times. His service is unbeatable by far as a plumber. The first time he came over was about 8 years ago for a pinhole leak. He worked with me over the phone to figure out where the hole was (on our top floor) and then once it was figured out, he came over and fixed it at minimal cost. The 2nd time about 2 years ago he fixed out water heater by putting a new feeder tube in it so we could have hot water again. This time he fixed a new pinhole leak in an entirely different location down in our basement. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in the area. I have before and after pictures I intend to post. The leak had apparently leaked for years and had completely soaked the wood and all the way through the drywall (which is how I discovered the problem). I originally thought it was a t-joint that was leaking but it was the original builder who had built a supporting pipe cut to support the pipe (forming a T). where the sharp edge of the pipe met the water carrying pipe is where the pinhole leak ended up forming. Mr Snell fixed that by getting rid of the shoddy work and well you will see how he did it once I post the pictures.

I cannot recommend Mr. Snell more highly. After LEN wanted to replace our antique bathroom sink at great cost, Mr. Snell was able to repair it with a low cost part and about 40 minutes of labor. He took the time to show us how to maintain the sink as well as quickly and efficiently taking care of other plumbing needs in our home. He also inspected our HVAC system (noting it was in good shape) and provided useful feedback on things we should look out for. He was also clear and upfront about his rates and policies.

Mr. Snell is one of the most (probably the most) helpful and professional people we've ever worked with as far as home maintenance. I really can't recommend him more highly. One thing to note - he does not have an answering service - in my experience if you leave him a message, though, he will return your call within a day, often within a few hours.
