I reached out to them about moving a flange back in my bathroom as I had purchased a toilet that was too far off the wall and limiting access to the bathroom.Communication was actually pretty good they responded to my messages and said someone could come out the following week, Tuesday at 11:00. The day comes no one shows up, calls or messages. When I reach out someone did apologize and assured they could be there the following day at 8:30 sharp. To their credit someone was there the following day at 8:30. I was charged $175 to remove my toilet and check my pipes. The technician said it would be better to just replace the toilet, which was fine. He said he would find a toilet that would fit and get back to me. The technician did reach out to me said he found one and would order it. After about a a week and a half I reach out to ask if there was any update. He said he would be able to install the toilet the following Tuesday at 10. Mind you this is the date and time he gave me! The day comes, no one shows up, calls, or sends a message. When I reach out to ask if they would be coming (as this is the middle of a work day and had to make arrangements for someone to be there). He said he was busy and would another day this week work. I said Saturday would work asked the time he said 9, . I sent a message the day before and he assured me he would be there and had the toilet. Saturday at nin came and went no one showed up. I received a message an hour later stating that it would be impossible to install the toilet that it wouldn't fit and I would have to change the flange and pay $1250. This is after telling me over the past two weeks the toilet would fit and not showing up at the time he said he would. A complete waste of time!
Summary: these guys are *great*. Extremely good at their work, very kind and understanding (and always trying to save the customer money), and very reasonably priced.
I recommend them completely. I would get them to do my plumbing in the future, if they are available.
What they did:
We had a clogged drain in the basement: our laundry wouldn't drain properly. But this had been going on for years, so I was aware that the issue could be bigger than it seemed. It was: whoever had installed the basement sink (a handyman special) had not done it right, so they couldn't snake the drain. So they put in some new pipes, so they could get to the outlet drain, and unfortunately, their cameras showed that it was disintegrated in the ground: this was the real culprit for our problems. (This is an inexpensive house built in 1950; the drainage wasn't built right originally.)
So they jackhammered up the basement floor and put in new drainage pipes: this was a huge job.
The final job took 2 men 3 full days to complete. Everything is now great: much better than ever before.
It cost $3000, but that was 2 hours on a Saturday (diagnosing and snaking originally); then 6-8 hours on each of Monday-Wednesday for two men, plus new pipes.
Very reasonable for so much work.
I recommend them whole-heartedly
James C.I called them to unclog a main sewer line at 10 PM and was assured someone would come at 7:30 AM the next morning. At 8 AM I called to find out where they were and the guy on duty answered and said he had no idea he was booked. ""His boss was on jury duty and does this to him all the time."" He was never told about the call from the dispatcher the night before and apparently the guy in charge does this ""all the time"". Great organization. BTW, don't try Rotor-Rooter either. They suck even worse and couldn't keep two separate appointments.
Lee C.Richie clean my drains in my house they were clogged with the roots Excellent job at a reasonable cost will Definitelyuse him again
Excellent service. Answered the phone immediately and sent somebody out within two hours. My toilet is now clog free Thank you!
Really grateful for Snake it Away's services. Our basement shower drain was clogged and started to flood - all on a Sunday. Thankfully Richie Sr called me back right away and was able to send his son over in the afternoon. His son, Rich, was super nice, efficient, and incredibly knowledgable. He told us what we needed to do since we have tree roots in our drain. I trusted his advice completely and had such a pleasant experience (which was NOT the case when I called DrainPro - very rude customer service there). So, do yourself a favor and use Snake it Away if you have a drain issue!
Bobby M.Used them a few months back a few times for a plumbing issue. They were late each time which caused me to be late for work one day. They also will nickel and dime everything they do, so be prepared to whip the check book out and pay for every little thing. The actual people that showed up to my house were very friendly and were not the business owner, so that was 1 positive, other than them, I would not recommend them. $$$$$$$$$
We've used Snake It Away twice, once to fix a busted drain which was leaking into our basement, and once to replace a garbage disposal. Both experiences have been above and beyond. The first time, they also snaked our bathroom drain to unclog it for free, and the second time they drove to my office in Boston to pick up the check at my convenience. (My house in in Medford.) They are affordable, extremely responsive, and trustworthy. We will always go to Snake It Away first.
If you have an emergency clog that needs attention, these are your guys. Whether a simple clogged toilet or sink or roots in your main sewer line, they have the tools and know how to get the job done right. I've had Ritchie unclog several drains and main lines, and he has always been prompt, attentive, and professional.
Christopher H.BEWARE! VERY EXPENSIVE! $275! For less than an hours work on my kitchen sink mid afternoon on a non-holiday, they had the nerve to charge $275!
Two weeks before I used Crescent Plumbing for my upstairs sink. They charged $140 (which is no bargain) for a more challenging unclogging.
Richie and his son did the work satisfactorily, but check what they will charge you first.
Another plumber to avoid is Silco. According to Richie, they would have charged me $450!
It is critical to ask the fee the plumber will charge, I guess. Pricing is all over the place based on what they think they can get away with.
