One year later and we continue to be harassed by this man. Next step, filing a complaint with the police. Do not take this man lightly.

WARNING! VERY SCARY experience. This review is for Al Smith or Alvis Smith, sometimes known as Bruce Smith on Facebook, at 513-510-7349 and 513-715-5151 and located on Maple Street in Norwood Ohio, 45212 DBA as Smithy's Plumbing Company. Al, or Alvis, or Bruce Smith will attempt to act as if this review was left for him by mistake, it's part of his scam. I have multiple text messages, along with threats of violence from him toward my family, including my dogs, that can be posted here to confirm we in fact have the right identity of the plumbing and electrical residential scam Mr. Smith is running.

Work performed that we did not request. Electrical Wiring was very sloppy, it was not requested, and now do we need to hire an electrician to fix that?

Unbelievably EXPENSIVE! Very messy. Left lights on, doors open to the house. Cluttered our house with mud. No instruction on how the heat tape works, which we did not ask for or request. Was told everything is working and we can call next winter for info on how to ""winterize"" the new supply lines. Why wait? You're here so show us how our $4,000++ water supply line repair works, please! Almost zero water pressure to the sink and toilet. Was told we wouldn't need to turn on the heat tape until next winter... really, it's March 8th, no more freezing temps? Tonight's low is 27 degrees, by the way. Scheduling was a joke with multiple text messages that were constantly changing, plumber was here over multiple days. Just a terrible experience all around and he even asked if he could take ownership of one of our dogs.

Mr. Smith went into a rage when we requested for the work to be completed before final payment was released and then... threats of violence via Bruce Smith on Facebook Messenger. We have proof of all stated in this review. Additional photos and video to be provided.

THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK ANY WILL LIKEY BLAME YOU FOR ANY ISSUES.

I had used Smithy's a couple of times before with no problems. This last time, the plumber took longer than expected and I didn't get a chance to inspect the work as closely as I like expecting that if there were any issues, they would make it right. BIG MISTAKE. My tenant discovered scratches near her bathtub drain where the plumber was replacing the valve. When I brought it to their attention, they told me that they were old and that there was no way the plumber could have caused them, called me rude and was looking for an apology! From there, it got worse, there is a scratch on the kitchen sink where they had to cut the old faucet off. The plumber didn't bother to tell me about it or fix it. Lastly, the shower handle they replaced came off in my hand. They had forgot a screw which I was able to fix. They accused me of sabotaging the job and told me that they had taken pictures before they did the job to ""cover their butts"" which I have yet to see. If that was the case, we could have addressed the question about the tub without finger pointing. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I previously had a misunderstanding with Smithy's regarding the pricing, where we weren't on the same page with respect to pricing. I had gotten into a rather heated argument with the owner Alex.

Despite this, the brother's owner, Al, the plumber, the one who did the actual work later reached out to me separately to inform me of additional work the city would need to do to repair my main water valve. In addition, he returned property that was rightfully mine (a trash can), that he previously took off my property temporarily and that his brother taunted me with saying he was going to keep. I really appreciated this in spite of the conflict I had with his brother. Al just wanted to make sure the work he did stood up to scrutiny and to make sure that any additional problems I might have would be taken care of as well as to return property he knew belonged to me. He ended up calling the city on my behalf to make sure they would be coming out to do any necessary work. He had no obligation to do this, especially given all the conflict between Alex and myself. Because of Al's professionalism and at the end of the day, his desire to have a good end result, I would still work with Al again and am changing my review.

Do not use Smithy's Plumbing. I had him out to work on my fireplace and when he left it immediately quit working. I had already paid $100 and that was fine because they were fine when I notified them. Fast forward and I take the day off work and no call and no show. He texts and apologizes so I give them another chance and this is after I move my day around once again. 45 mins before they are supposed to show I get another text saying he was exposed to Covid yesterday on a job. At this point I am over it and ask for a refund and that is when he gets awful with me. So now I still have a broken fireplace and am out $100. Terrible customer service and he walked on my carpets with shoes on!!

Al helped us fixed a water leak in a very cold day. I took a star off because his office didn't allow him to take a lunch break until he finished all his work. He worked from 10 to 4 nonstop, digging mud, soaking wet, freezing. And he still has to come to another work right after. I don't quite agree with the style of his company. But Al is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Deceptive business, price gouging, extremely inappropriate communication: We hired A-1 for a leaking water line. They fixed the issue in a timely manner and at a great price. They offered their services again to patch up our driveway in July 2020. They quoted us 1900 for the whole job which was a reasonable price therefore we agreed to have the job completed. We agreed that half of the cost would be paid upfront and the second half would be paid once the job is completed. Not only has it taken them 3 months to finish the job that should have taken no more than 6 weeks they threatened us on several occasions. Near the end of September, they stated that they would not complete the job until the second half of the payment was received. We assured them several times that once the job was complete they would get their money. They came back a few days later and worked for about an hour. We pointed out a leaking pipe that they had replaced during the water line issue and asked for them to take a look at it. He spent about 5 minutes and fixed the pipe. The next day we received a bill for 124 dollars for fixing the pipe and a threat that they would put a lien on the house and take us to court if we did not immediately pay the bill along with a 30 dollar late fee for each day we did not pay it. We attempted to explain how that is price gouging and the exact response we received was ""we run this show pal."" They continued to state that they would not continue work on the driveway until we paid the second half of the total. We sent them an official letter stating that they are no longer allowed on our premises and we will have to find another contractor to finish the work. They responded that only a judge can grant that and then a laughing emoji face. We contacted our lawyer who stated that we had the legal right to fire them. I highly recommend NOT using this company for any services. The only reason I am giving them a D and not an F is they did a decent job on the water line (despite it leaking three months later and them charging us 124 dollars for something they failed to fix the first time and took only 5 minutes to fix)

This is the Most Dishonest Company we have Ever hired. We hired them to fix a leak in our shower and install two new toilets.
I will start with, upon agreement for payment, one of the owners via text said 1/2 was due up front and the other half upon completion of the job.
First off, the contractor Never shows up on time. One-Two hrs late. He fixed our leak, but said he may have to replace the tile around the shower if any breaks, which it did. He showed us tile that was very close to our original, so we agreed for him to install it. The third day he came to install the tile, I went to check on him. The tile was totally different. Three shades darker. I told him this is not the tile you showed us!!! He danced around with words, totally lied!! He continued to install the tile and said he would be back to put the grout in on another day.
We talked to the owner again and said it was totally unacceptable!!! Again, she lied ""Bella""about conversations!! Then, the guy never showed up on the day we had an appointment!! Called the owner back again!! Bascially, got the run around again!!!
Now, here is the clencher.... The day the guy did not show, we received notice from our credit card company that they charged the other 1/2 of the payment without our permission and without the completion of the job!!!! We called them and not getting any return calls back!!!
We have the text of the agreement from Bella the second 1/2 of the payment is due when the job is done!!!!!!!!!! These people need to be out of Of Business!!!! We are Reporting this Company!!!
