5/14/13 Smith's Plumbing & Heating of Riverton installed a Copperline 3/4 horsepower swamp cooler motor incorrectly into my swamp cooler. Immediately upon installation, I mentioned to Brandon Smith something was wrong. He replied, ""That's what we're stuck with"". Smith's plumbing told me they guarantee their work. Around 9/5/13 motor began to sound very bad. 9/6/13 Smith's plumbing (Brandon Smith) came out to my house, listened to motor and claimed there was nothing wrong with the motor. About an hour after he left, motor would not blow air. Via phone call earlier with Smith's plumbing Brent Smith claimed there was no warranty on the motor. Called Swamptech, for another opinion because Smith's did not sound right. Swamptech came out on Monday 9/9/13 and explained the sheve was put on backwards and it was not amped correctly. This did two things. It shortened the life of the motor and broke the belt clean off. There was too much strain on the whole unit. The motor needed to be amped but the set screw for the amping part of the sheve had been tightened down on the threads of the sheve so it was frozen in place. Swamptech promptly installed a new motor and said that the motor is warrantied for one year. Swamptech went the extra mile and even took pictures and documented what Smith's had done wrong at my request. Now the cooler is working fine and runs more quietly than before. Smith's Plumbing & Heating in Riverton gets zero stars because they refused to refund my money for their inferior service, despite saying they ""guarantee their work"".
