Dennis came to my location three times to resolve an ongoing well issue. First to diagnose, then to repair and install parts, and then again because of missing parts. But he NEVER finished the job. All three times he was not able to arrive at the scheduled time. This is not a big issue once or twice, but it is extremely inconvenient when someone is consistently 4+ hours late. There was a not a single visit where he arrived less than 4 hours after our scheduled time. His non chalant attitude towards scheduling became even more stressful since he left us without running water/operating well after the second visit. To his credit, he was honest in explaining that he had to take other jobs ahead of me even though we had already scheduled an appointment becuase it was good for him.

Here is the bigger problem: the work was never completed and he left my well in a hazardous condition. Dennis did identify multiple issues and offered solutions, but unfortunately Dennis's solutions were incomplete and borderline fraudulent.

For example, Dennis added a power disconnect at the well head, but he never installed the fuses. My invoice shows that i paid for the fuses. But since he never installed fuses, he just installed the disconnect box and bypassed it so that it served NO actual function beside aesthetic.

Dennis also neglected to install any box covers/lids on the electrical junction boxes. So for two months the electrical connections were open to the elements while face up. Luckily this occured during the summer so there was no rain. However, I worry about what would have occured had I not hired another company to fix and complete his unsafe work.

I eventually hired another crew to fix his inferior work when i noticed that the new well head/pipe that he installed was leaking. It was literally spraying water out of the pipe junctions within two months of his last visit. I had the new professional crew pull the pump out of the well to check his work and they found the following:
no ground wire attached to the pump on his wire
no wire guards despite our discussion about damaged wires issues

The new crew also recommended to reinstall the safety rope-line that Dennis advised to remove since it is not safe to pull up a pump by spliced electrical wires.

And finally, when they put the pump back in the well, it stopped working so they had to pull it out again. They looked at the pump and found that he never CRIMPED the splice connections. He used heat shrink but did NOT crimp the actual connections. I suppose if you are extremely delicate with the wire and pump, you don't have to crimp the wire splices but I dont know why someone wouldn't just crimp the connections to avoid potential issues.

Anyhow, would not use his services again and I definetly felt swindled. Dennis may have some knowledge but should not be working on wells without professional supervision.

Dennis of Smith line pump services was fair and honest. He gave me his fullest attention to fixing my mother's well. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs help with there well and pump! He stands by his word and his work! He also gave me great recommendations for trustworthy people in the area to do other kinds of jobs that were needed,thank you Dennis

My water well stopped working on a Friday night and Dennis answered my call at 8 PM AT NIGHT. He was at my house on Saturday at 10AM as promised. He found a bad pump switch in 5 minutes and had it repaired in 30. Super knowledgeable and personable. I recommend his company.

Dennis is very knowledgeable unfortunately very bad at returning calls or scheduling to get your project completed. He started a job 6 months ago and I have been chasing him down to finish the project with no avail. He also lets his personal issues get in the way by talking way too much about it versus focusing on getting the work done. If you want someone professional to get your project done in a timely professional manner, keep looking.

Great business. I called Dennis mid-day on a Saturday about a broken pipe at my well. He immediately returned my call and came out promptly and repaired my pipe. Dennis was fair and worked quickly and did a perfect job. I would use him again. He knows everything about wells to do the job right. Give him a call.
