Usually I call the mega outfits with the flat rate charges or the discount coupons but they usually charge you just to walk in the door & look at the job before they even start. Kevin Smith Plumbing and Heating quoted me a fair hourly rate for a kitchen faucet repair, I got a phone call from him to advise me that he was running a little late and when he arrived the work was done neat, clean & quick.
