Unfortunately, I was not here when Wolf of Smiley Plumbing came in yesterday to repair a standard toilet & to drain a 5 year old hot water heater. He replaced most of the internal flushing equipment (about $50 worth at Home Depot) & charged us $400 & gave us a $20 discount because of a coupon. He also charged $200 to hook the hose up to the hot water heater for 1/2 an hour, & gave us a $50 discount on that. He quoted $1,000 for a hot water circulating system for a 2000 sq. ft. home, which we did not have done.
Needless to say, when I found out about the exorbitant price we paid, I contacted Wolf & asked for a partial refund. He denied that since he had already honored a $20 discount coupon, & insisted that this $400 price was within industry standards.
I will do everything in my power to spread my total dis-satisfaction with the advantage he took of a senior citizen in a retirement community.

Well we're sorry that the other reviewers had such a bad experience. We found that Walt Smiley, the owner and master plumber of the business was quite fair. First, we had a sewer line back up at 8:00 p.m.......sadly, the 24/7 promises given in ads in the yellow pages are all false......We tried several companies, including Smiley to come out that evening. Marie said that they could respond at 8:00 a.m. the next morning, that Walt was already out on a job. Next morning Walt showed up at 8:00 a.m. His vehicle looked nice & shiny....professional & clean. He ran the snake through our line with a camera. Tree roots had taken up residence in our line and blocked everything. He gave us quotes first for the work. The line was temporarily cleared and we scheduled an appointment to have it replaced. Walt's words to us was that the front yard would look exactly or better than the way he found it. Days later we had a backhoe/trencher in our front yard and work commenced. Do you all know that a sewer line is at least 8 feet underground? We didn't. We had piles of dirt everywhere and there was no way the yard would ever look the same. Well after working for two days with an assistant, Walt had the line replaced AND the yard did look as good as when he started. My regret is I didn't take any pictures of the whole event. It was amazing. Yes, Walt may have been high in price....don't know....all we know is that the work was done well and we're happy with his service.

beware! stay away from smiley plumbing. my 81 year old mother paid $1000.00 for the owner of this company to fix a clogged drain (ran the cable 2x) , patched a leak and installed a new garbage disposal on saturday afternoon. he returned my phone call and stood his ground that it was a fair charge!! labor was $650.00.!!!!! he said it was a 5 hr charge which included 30 min. travel time. $130 per hour! stay away from smiley plumbing. the only one smiling is the owner all the way to the bank!

Smiley Plumbing has taken care of the plumbing at my house for several years now.
For $7.95/month, I belong to their Diamond Club which includes an annual whole-house inspection, 10% off all repairs, and extended warranties.
They've repaired leaks, replaced under-sink supply lines, installed new heavy-duty clothes washer hoses, replaced anode rods in the water heater, installed a new garbage disposal, replaced the water control valve in a shower, changed several outside hose bibs, and installed a toilet.
They are meticulous and take great pride in their work; the quality is exceptional.

Wow! I love how ""negative"" clients ""BLAST"" this company when they want something done ASAP. These negative commenters don't consider what's involved in running a HONEST PLUMBING COMPANY. Anyone can get a cheap price for a cheap and often times not up to 'CODE' plumbing work. Customers forget that Smiley Plumbing gives them a price break to show up on DOUBLE TIME. Customers forget to acknowledge they called because they had an EMERGENCY. Customers get a bonafide quote with all the fine print and how much each items will cost to be done. If a customer doesn't listen and hear what needs to be done accurately, too bad for them.

Smiley Plumbing is an honest and quality plumbing company. Since there are so many unskilled handy people running around undercutting and doing less than quality work out there, Smiley Plumbing can't compete.

If anyone wants a ""REAL & HONEST & QUALITY"" company, SMILEY PLUMBING is the best company out there.

Complete rip off! They completely scammed my 75 year old mother. Came out and charged her almost $900 to repair her water heater. Could have gotten a new one installed for quite a bit less than that. The guy was out there for hours banging away wasting time running up his rate. This occurred several months ago. My mother tried to dispute the bill with her credit card company. These pirates got their money.

DO NOT waste your time or money with this company. Horrible customer service. Extremely overpriced. Very high cost ($80) to just come to your home for an estimate. They advertised in a church bulletin, too. Shame on them for screwing people. I regret not having the time to shop around. I got screwed!

Do not go with this company. Sure, they fixed my toilets (though they had to come out two days afterward to re-fix) but they charged my at least seven times what I could have paid had I been more patient and shopped around. The owner will not reason with you and even threatened me with a lawsuit, so yeah, we won't be calling these people. Funny thing is, when I wanted to speak to him, I was lied to and told he was on vacation, but got him on the phone later the same day. Word to the wise, avoid this company or you will pay dearly.

There are a number of Smiley Plumbing services located in the valley and I don't know which one actually answered my call but the service man was Walt. This plumbing service advertised in my church bulletin and then took advantage of me, a woman and a senior citizen. I was charged an outrageous amount for replacing a lavatory faucet and related emergency shut-off valve. Since there was no break down in parts and labor I checked them out the next day at Home Depot and they were ridiculously low. He later told my daughter that he charged $150 an hour for the two and half hours it took to install the parts but he actually only worked about one hour and 15 minutes! The bill was $824!
