I really wish I could give Mel a great review he's local, small business, and I'm a strong believer in supporting local small businesses but I would suggest using any other septic company out there; here's why: slightly over a year ago Mel put in a new leech line on my property. During the process he had to tear up my yard which is to be expected but he left huge tractor ditches in my yard, said he would smooth it all out but didn't, I used two of the ditches to plant trees in but there is still one not filled yet (left for Mel so if he responds he can come fill it, what's crazy is these ditches aren't even near the leech lines) also he left some pipes without caps, said he would bring the caps, but didn't, and finally suggested we use these risers that cost more and that they would save money later (maybe they will) and said we wouldn't be able to smell the septic, guess what we occasionally get a wonderful whiff of stench. Anyway I've been waiting over a year for for him to at least bring the caps for the exposed pipes that he promised to bring! It's really a shame, I did my part and paid him on time and never saw him again! As far as I'm concerned he didn't follow through with his word and there is nothing more important for a small business than that! Over priced for poor customer service, maybe he should retire and just fish. He definitely seemed to care more about that then completing a job he was paid for-you may also notice that Mel lashes out at anyone who leaves a negative review-Mel feel free to respond but don't do it on here, come right to my yard and do it and while you are at it bring the caps you promised and a shovel to fill the final ditch still in my yard.
Feel free to change my mind!!

I got a hold of Flaky Mel last week to repair my broken inlet pipe. He said that he ""might"" be out later that day, then that turned into the next day, ad that turned into Saturday. I called A1 Septic Saturday afternoon after waiting around for Flaky Mel and they actually showed up when they said they would. Maybe Mel does good work, bu the guy doesn't answer his phone, doesn't show up when he says he will, and to top it all off his voicemail was full. Mel if you're reading this don't bother showing up

Mel was very quick to respond to our issue with the septic tank and he checked our drain lines with his camera since our regular plumber didn't have a camera. Mel found a couple problems that we need to address soon and he educated us on the problems he found. We didn't feel he was trying to get us to do extra work that didn't really need to be done since he suggested we use our regular plumber to address those problems. We felt his charge for the service was more than reasonable and will use him again in the future since we live on the divide. Thank you Mel Allen!

I've been using Mel for years. He is very knowledgeable in his field of work. We trust him he has always done a great job for us. And would highly recommend him.

The company I work for called Smelly Mel's, left a voicemail, and got a call back the next day. One man show, that makes sense. Scheduled for 3 days later. He showed up, did the work, no problems. We had already gotten our guys to expose the covers, so it was a quick job. He's always pleasant, courteous, etc. At a different time, we also had him come out for a home we purchased from a cranky, cantankerous woman and Mel put up with all of her shenanigans (I wouldn't have), just to get it done for us (which frankly, was ridiculous... how many times have you had to pay to pump a tank on a house you were buying? Shouldn't that be on the seller???). Mel went above and beyond, and we sure appreciate him.

Ugh Smelly Mel's where their service is as shi$Y as what they do.
I also played phone tag with these guys. They showed up at the wrong time twice and never followed up with a call. What a hassle. Sure they will pump your tank and charge you big bucks but ask them to do anything that doesn't involve standing there even if you're paying for it and the fun begins. Yes they will come pump your tank, maybe call back, maybe show up on time but if you need anything else done or inspected your wasting your time.

Mel arrived at my home on time and ready to go. We were selling the house and the buyer had a whole bunch of questions. He was happy to answer them and kept it funny with a few septic jokes. Over all good experience and I will see him next time!

Worst company ever don't waste your time. If you can get them to return your call. We finally got them out to our property which is very easy to achieve after four trys and a three week wait playing phone tag and cancelled appts on their side then they refused to do the job once here because the tank was full. Well of course the tank is full that's why we called them. Owner really doesn't need or want to do any real physical labor jobs. I am confused why he is in business in our small community. Please don't set yourself up for a horrible experience when you need a service done painlessly and quickly. We hired Sweet Septic they were so awesome , one phone call and one day wait job done the way it should be. Wanted to put zero stars but Yelp won't let me. So you get one.
