I needed my water heater replaced, but it was not going to be an easy job. I have an old mobile home with multiple issues. They fit me in their schedule right away. I sent them pictures of the water heater, and Matt was able to give me a quote by phone. Aaron replaced the water heater with a smile on his face. We encountered problems with our old pipes. Matt and Aaron were able to help us with that as well. They presented different options to me on how to handle my problems. I honestly thought I would not be able to have hot water, but Matt and Aaron figured everything out and we now have hot water!

I have had Matthew do several jobs for me over the last 3 years. A tankless hot water heater & water softener replacement, bathroom & shower fixtures, shower/tub spout/diverter and other valves & spigots around the house.

His work is completed in a reliable manner and he communicated what he was doing on everything. His pricing included taking the old stuff away.

I thought I had a clogged tub drain but he found the plunger was half closed so he made a pretty simple adjustment instead of a messier snaking process.

He does the work carefully & cleans up when he is finished. He even put booties on his shoes to protect the floors.

Buyers beware!!

Almost exactly 2 years ago, Matt installed for us a new garbage disposal unit. It fell apart a couple of months ago. Why? Because he did not use plumber's putty where he needed to. Basic stuff, right?! The unit finally was shaken loose and it broke down: leaking and foul-smelly with spoiled food inside. ONLY 2 years later, I had to pay for a new unit not because the unit stopped working but because it was not installed correctly. Frustrating.

Speaking of BASIC work not getting done correctly, Matt replaced the flushing mechanism for one of our toilets. He did not pay attention to where the water level was in the tank before he replace the mechanism. The tank started to leak very soon. He came back and corrected his work. And he charged me $75 for correcting his work.

Then there was a bidet on one of our toilets that was leaking. He fixed the leak but he tightened the knot so much that I could not replace the bidet when it broke. He came back and 'fixed' it and again, he charged me $75 for correcting his work.

I did tell Matt I would not use him ever again and I told him I probably would not write him up on yelp etc. And I didn't. But this garbage disposal issue is beyond reasonable tolerance. I am beginning to worry that the job he did for us in the crawl space will go bad soon, too.

The take-away here is it's extremely frustrating to see so many jobs Matt did developed into problems in very short time. I don't want this happen to those of you considering Matt for your plumbing jobs. For those of you who have praised his work recently, hang tight.

This is the small business family man that you want to give all your money to. Matt is amazingly fast and quick! Defintiely is patient and concerning, making sure everything is explained. I had a water heater that was on is way out, 16 years old. Matt looked it at it, called my home warranty company, it was seamless. Old one was out and new one in record time. He even made sure it was up to code as the previous relief pipe was not to today's standard. Defintiely having Matt come out for all my other plumbing needs. A whole house filtration system is next!

We had what we thought was a clogged/backed up bathroom, after trying to fix it ourselves we realized it was a bigger problem. Began calling plumbers around town as it was late in the evening. The following morning we received a call from Matt, he asked what the problem was. He then said he could come in the afternoon. He showed up earlier than anticipated, wore a face mask and shoe covers to enter our home. Assessed our toilets and then said it wasn't our toilets but the line from the city. He said we could call the city to get it fixed, or he could fix it with a ""snake"", we were worried about how long the city would take so we had Matt fix it. Turns out there's a big tree on our sidewalk that had some roots coming into our sewage line, and it was affecting our home's plumbing. Matt was prompt to fix the issue, under an hour and charged a reasonable price! Out of the plumbing companies we called, he was the only one to say ""I will be there"" without hesitation and get the job done. Definitely keeping his contact number handy!

Our 17 yr old tankless water heater stopped working. It was determined that it was time for a new one. We hired Matt Garber of Smash Plumbing to do the job. Although we stayed with the same manufacturer, apparently the exhaust system needed updating which made the replacement a little more complicated that we initially thought. We found Matt not only knowledgeable but professional and a man of great integrity. We saw a very hard worker who was time efficient and conscientious. He cleaned up the area well after the job was done and was friendly and courteous from the moment he stepped in the door. My experience has been outstanding. 100% of the time when I reach out for a plumbing repair or replacement, I get a phone call back the same day; and often available to go to the job site the same day, or next day for evaluation. That works very well for me. Additionally, the quality of the materials are top notch. I have needed water heaters, sump pumps, fixtures, and exterior plumbing needs... all with a goal that they will last a long time to prevent having to replace something within a few years. I have not been disappointed. Finally, a few comments about the quality of the work... Excellent, thorough and done with high confidence. Matt also takes the time to explain the repair / replacement upon completion, and takes all questions about the work, and future directions & maintenance of what was replaced or repaired with the homeowner.
