We had our shower/tub back-to-back drain completely back up. The first plumber couldn't fix it and after a few phone calls to people who didn't sound like they knew what they were doing, I found Jim. He came right over to assess the issue and was extremely professional, knowledgeable and honest. He came back the next day and very thoroughly worked through the issue, starting at the roof and eventually finding that our sewer lateral replacement guy bypassed a house connection pipe causing the complete back up. It is hard to find a good plumber and as an architect, I respect Jim's do-the-job-right attitude. He'll be my go to person should our cute 1940's house have plumbing issues again! I would highly recommend Jim.

Jim is the owner / operator and very professional. I was visiting a friend in Alameda and made him start a plumbing project on a bathroom sink that did not end well. I called Jim and explained the situation and that I wanted to take care of it.

Jim showed up within one hour, rooted the drain and fixed a difficult pipe connection to the wall.

This is my first yelp review even though I've used it for years!

Jim came over same day on time (even though I was late) and got right to work diagnosing the issue. He explained what he was doing in terms I could understand. He tried 3 times using 3 different methods to unplug our sewer line that had backed up and was starting to leach into our garage (yuck!). When he still couldn't get through he explained that our past company must have failed to reattach one line it when we had our sewer lateral compliance work done. He offered to come back to explain what he did to them or to do the work if they wouldn't. He worked really hard for 2.5 hours and his price seemed really fair. He was careful to take off his shoes each time he went into the house without me even asking. Overall great experience with a local Alameda business owner. Thank you, Jim!

Sunday morning 12/31/17 (NYE) greeted us with a barely flushing toilet and the sound of water leaking below to the basement...ugh. We frantically called some folks with the slightest hopes we might find someone to come out that day. Jim was the first to return our call and said he was finishing up a job and could be over in just over an hour. Amazing, we lucked out. Beyond that, Jim was pleasant to work with and thoroughly fixed (and tested) the problem and was in and out in less than an hour. He is clearly knowledgeable about his work and we won't hesitate calling him the next time we need a plumber. He totally saved the day, thanks Jim, Happy New Year.

This is as good as it gets and more! My former plumber, Ed, at another local plumbing company never returned my calls (all five of them with messages left!), even though he had suggested in the past that he could install my new hot water tank, so I gave up and started looking for a new plumber. Jim responded quickly thru Yelp, and the next thing I know I'm scheduling an appointment to get my very old water tank replaced. Jim and his worker, Salvador, were prompt, professional yet personable, and reasonably priced. It's been a couple of weeks since the installation, and everything (knock on wood) is running very well. I'd highly recommend Jim and his crew for your plumbing needs!

Jim answered my Sunday call on the first try. He promised a call back and within 30 minutes Sam called me and we spoke about the problem. I texted him a coupe of pictures of the problem and within minutes he provided a quote for the job. He came out Sunday afternoon and completed three plumbing fixes at my house and did a terrific job. Neat, clean and really knew what he was doing. Completed the job in quick order and had me completely fixed on Thanksgiving weekend. Could not have been better service!

My shower handle broke and I could not turn off the shower! Called Smart Rooter and Jim came over within an hour (driving through the horrific 880 traffic). He was able to fix the problem and explained what happened with my shower handle. He really saved the day and saved my water bill expense! Thanks Jim!

Jim is awesome. He got back to me right away even tho it was close to his closing time and a Friday night. He did a great job and was super meticulous and professional. He even showed me another area where water was leaking and offered to give me his caulking material to apply when area dried up. He will now be my go to plumber.

Simply amazing. Jimmy called back within 25 minutes of my leaving a message. He came by to look at a problem that turned out to be an appliance problem, which was out of his hands, and he charged me nothing for coming by. Fast forward a day later -- we had a big water leak in our front yard (as a result of something we did). I called Jimmy and he and Oliver came immediately and stopped the leak. When it was clear the problem would return, they came back the NEXT DAY and repaired a big water pipe. Charge was completely reasonable. They gave me lots of great advice on our plumbing and things we could fix ourselves rather than pay someone else to do. I can't recommend them enough.
