This company is about taking advantage of seasonal and elderly people.
To change a water heater should only be at most $300 and to change a toilet should be about $100 if a toilet has been purchased. As a project manager I know better, we got a quote from them for a scope of work. We decided to go with some one else yet our quote from them was almost $400.00 dollars!!! And when taking to my elderly neighbor they told me that they had Slusher replace their toilet for almost $900.00 dollars and that is just plain wrong! Discussing and I guess the owner (her) drives around in her BMW sporting expensive jewelry....and it's all out of your wallet!

For service calls they're great. But they quoted me $4,500 for a new water heater, installed & I found another plumber who did the job for $2,400 so have no idea why Slusher charges so much. Also they referred me to their General Contractor who strung me along for weeks before finally saying he was too busy.

Living in the Lake Almanor area for many years. The only plumber to call is Slusher Plumbing. They came out on weekends holidays whenever we needed them. They have ALWAYS DONE an outstanding job. I have never been overcharged . I can't believe any of these stories.

Let me preface this by saying I am not the type to leave a negative review AT ALL, but this has been one of the worst experiences with a company that I've ever had. We called Slusher to fix our hot water heater because an element went out. We were charged $950 to replace the element (a $40 part) and a breaker which he said was also out.
Shortly after this ""repair"" our water heater started leaking. Not just a slow leak, but at the point where I was having to rotate towels out every couple hours to soak it up. We called them back to come and take a look at it, and it was inspected and once again ""repaired"". It is now leaking again and when we called them back to let them know, they diagnosed it as a failed hot water heater, insisted they have in their notes that it was leaking prior to the first time they came out (it most definitely was NOT), and quoted us another $3000 to replace the heater fully.
So basically we paid someone almost $1000 to replace a $40 part, ruin our hot water heater, and insist it was like that before they came out. Absolutely do not recommend this company at all whatsoever.

Contacted Slusher Plumbing to inquire about getting an estimate for my new build in LAW. Polite Lady took my info down and said she would have someone reach out. To my surprise I received a call back by the same lady within 5 min ! I was taken aback by her response.
She indicated she spoke to one of the owners about my request. She responded that he wanted to me to know three things before moving forward. 1 ) There would be a charge for providing and estimate for my project, 2) They are typically 25% higher price than everyone else. 3) They could even get to my project for at least 4-5 mos. Thought the whole experience was a bit strange but realized they just didn't want to deal with me. I did ask why they are 25% higher than everyone else. She said simply, we are the best! Doubtful based on just my short interaction.

Wish I would've read the reviews before calling this place. They are scammers. Came out 3 different times and told us our heater was fixed, when we came to the house it was not fixed. Called another company to fix it and they told us what was wrong within 30 minutes and they were less than 1/2 the cost. If you're a vacation home owner beware, they charge you for work they don't do and sneak in extra charges (like the cost of their drive to your house)

Mr Slusher showed up on time, installed a new kitchen faucet and took care of our other needed plumbing repairs. he was able to find some hard to get parts for our bathroom fixtures and returned to finish the project,
We appreciate his professionalism and fair pricing.

I was blown away by the response and service given to me by Slusher Plumbing. David could not have been more professional and efficient. One day response, showed up on time (exactly!) and got right after my problem. He was quick to analyze the problem, explained the process he would need to do to repair it and accomplished it in An amazingly quick and efficient manner.

I got lucky by picking Slusher and would definitely recommend them to anyone in the Sierra. Slam dunk!

Would have been a good review if the work done was only the work needed and requested.

I had a leaking tankless water heater valve. I forwarded them pictures, told them one was leaking. They agreed and they even warned me that the valves come in pairs so I would have to purchase a pair. I said that is fine, I can keep the spare for the future if needed.

He showed up promptly with the valve and got to work after I confirmed and showed him the problem valve.

When I checked in on him approximately 45 minutes later he had removed the properly functioning valve and was then starting to remove the broken valve. I asked him why on earth he removed the intact, functional valve, to which he said, ""it comes with both valves, so I replace both valves."" I told him that was not necessary and that he should have just replaced the broken valve. He stared at me.

At this point, the damage was already done, and the extra time and expense was already ticking. I had no choice but to bite my lip and walk away.

Next challenge was his inefficiency (aka padding bill again?). He was extraordinarily slow once he was 'done' - having walked to his truck and futzed around long enough at the truck (nothing really to clean up with this job), that I was able to clean out the interiors of two cars, sweep my garage, and organize some shelves. This brought his time to 2 hours 4 minutes (I started a timer when he got to the house). He rounded this up to 2:15 for labor, which was in addition to $60 fee for coming to the house. His hand written invoice was part of his time at the truck. Total expense for a single valve replacement $577, which he turned into 2 valves replaced. Part of the padding of the bill was also the materials which he itemized (only after I asked him why the bill was as large as it was) verbally as $231. On Amazon a pair of valves costs $70.

To their credit - they promptly came to our home even during Covid stay at home orders and on a Saturday (called before noon, arrived within the hour).

Technical performance - 4 stars
Padding bill - 1 star

Little high on theiR pricing. They do dependable work. Not a lot of choices in area so if you don't mind paying more they would be a good choice.
