I requested service to replace corroded washing machine valves. They called me back right away and scheduled an appointment. Before they begin work, they gave me worst case scenario so I had an idea of the cost. They were friendly and professional. I think they were in and out in just under an hour. They installed an access panel as well. The price was very reasonable and they were knowledgeable and honest compared to another local plumbing company that did work for me last year (still waiting for them to give me a price on some work) I'm very pleased. I would recommend them and I will use them again.

Skok & Son is the WORST contractor I have engaged with in my life. Here's the rundown:

Our drain has been backing up from our sink lately and it needed to be snaked, but the reason was that it was not plumbed well and the root of the problem needed to be fixed.

We call two different companies to come to look at the job and quote us on the project.

One comes last night and is wonderful - educates us, quotes us, and we're ready to hire.

But we wanted a second perspective.

Skok & son comes today while my wife Kelsey is home (and I'm not), doesn't introduce himself or his son, tells her he's done this before for the previous homeowners, walks to the basement, and while Kelsey follows him down, his son grabs a snake and an impact drill, and without even asking, he starts working.

He doesn't listen to my wife, belittles her, is intimidating, and then bills her on the spot even after she asked for a quote first.

He fixed the symptom, but not the ultimate problem - which we still need to be fixed.

I gave him a call and asked politely to understand why he didn't quote us and shared how it felt from my wife's perspective.

He then gets incredibly aggressive and rude with me and says, ""well it'll never happen again. Lose my number."" and hangs up.

Yikes.

I've done so many projects over the year in both buildings downtown as well as our house - and never in my life have I been hung up on by a contractor, acting like a highschooler who just broke up with a girlfriend.

For those in business (especially small towns), all it takes is a massive drop in character and a single phone call to create an anti-advocate for your business for life.

I wouldn't recommend Skok & Son to my worst enemies.

Extremely fast response. Great professionalism and excellent work! They were also extremely reasonably priced.

I have had the pleasure of using Skok and Son on 2 occasions in the past year, first was at a rental duplex we own where there was a phantom leak coming from between the 2 units and dripping all the way to the basement. Mike was on time and dealt with the problem the same day with minimal disturbance to either renter. He found the leak in between the wall of the units repaired it making only 2 small holes in the drywall, HIGHLY recommended, great work, quick and at a reasonable price! This was long I will post another job at my house later.
