Like Bri L., the attitudes I encountered from these guys is obnoxious. Can you imagine a doctor saying they're not going to fix someone else's work? (""Hey doc, I bandaged this wound, and it won't stop bleeding. Doc: ""I'm not fixing that."" Customer: ""I couldn't fix the toilet myself."" Skibel: ""Well, I'm not fixing it either, sucka."" Seriously wtf?) No honorable professional would do that. Insulting a widow who tried to do a home repair pretty much sums up Skibel. They should be glad they had an opportunity to demonstrate their expertise and help a customer, an established customer!, if they think they're that good. Heartless.
The list is long as to why you should invite these guys into your home only if you have no other options.
1. They are crazy arrogant. 2. If you have two things that need to be fixed, they'll berate you for waiting until a second thing needed fixing (aka they can only charge for one visit). Literally, they will insult you in your own home. 3. But even so, they'll milk the clock so they can bill for an hour or two when the job could be done literally in minutes. Why bother insulting you verbally when they plan to insult you with the bill? They could just stfu with their attitude, but nope, they double up on the insults. 4. They'll replace quality parts with cheap parts, which should result in a reduction in your bill because they're either selling the good stuff or using it on something they own, but nope the bill is sky-high. 5. Their hourly rate is ridiculous. A doctor saving lives doesn't always make what they're charging! 6. They'll quote you a price on an appliance then charge more on the bill with no advanced notice the price would be higher. They're gouging while they're insulting you. This is not Beverly Hills where money is no object for crying out loud. 6. Two leaks they ""fixed"" had to be fixed again multiple times, so not exactly quality work in the first place (or maybe planned shoddy work to ensure further calls/bills). It's as if they're scheduling regular repairs you don't want so they have guaranteed regular income. Watch out.
My trusty former plumber isn't in the area any longer and I miss him!!!!!!!!!!!! One day he noticed a large section of plastic pipe and immediately recognized, ""That's not *my* work."" He wouldn't do something like that. A tenant had stolen a copper fixture and replaced it with plastic. Skibel would do the same thing, brag about the shady practice, and bill you for it. They're the kind of guys you feel gross after doing business with them. Greed. Blech.

Super helpful and informative. He fixed a clogged drain in my tub that a previous plumber wasn't able to clear effectively. He explained the issue with the old plumbing and why it would continue to happen over time. Cleared out the clog and I have him come in every so often to make sure that its clear so that it doesn't become an issue. Very helpful and experienced.

Calls are returned and service as prompt as you can get. Prices are reasonable. The work is always done quickly, and done right the first time. Jim knows what he is doing. Will always be my ""go to"" plumber.

We had a leaky bathroom faucet that was getting worse by the day, so I put a call into Skibel Plumbing at about 8 am on a Friday and left a voicemail.

By early afternoon, Jim returned the call and asked if he could stop by to take care of the problem. He was here in less than 30 minutes, quickly fixed the problem as well as three other issues my husband had wanted fixed for a quite a while (which involved wriggling through a cellar crawl space in fairly hot weather).

I can't say enough about how pleased we are with the response time, professionalism, and quality of service. I felt the bill was extremely fair considering the time and effort Jim expended - and the extras we asked him to do while he was here.

I would recommend, without hesitation, Skibel Plumbing to anyone in need of their services.

We called on a Friday morning because of a leaking kitchen sink, Skibel Plumbing was our first choice because we had them do some work in the house several years previously. I didn't expect to get an appointment until sometime the following week. To my great surprise, I was told there was a little time before the next appointment of the day and they could come by within the hour and complete the work. Shortly after I hung up, the van pulled in the driveway, the faucet was replaced and we were back in business! We recommend Skibel to anyone looking to great, dependable service.

My family and I have been loyal customers of Skibel plumbing for 10+ years. I have recently had to tighten up my budget significantly due to my husband passing away unexpectedly. I ran into a toilet problem and I decided to try a DIY fix. I called Skibel when I realized I would need to cough up the money because my fix had clearly not resolved the issue. When I called I explained the problem and Skibel stated ""I will not fix someone else's botched job.""

Compare your options people, because quite frankly, at the end of the day I called a plumber for help fixing my toilet. What I did not expect was for someone to treat me like I belong in one.

These guys are amazing! I'd called them a few years ago for an emergency situation, broken pipe, and they came as soon as possible. They fixed problem completely, made a few recommendations for down the road (older house - things get broken or worn down) and charged an incredibly fair price.
Just recently needed a plumber again for a broken disposal, several leaks and another pipe that was about to let go. They came, gave an estimate before they began, and fixed everything - beyond my satisfaction. Price came in on target with their estimate.
These guys are the best! Hope they stay as reasonable and skilled as they are now. And that they stay in business forever!!

Very satisfied with Skibel. Returned my voicemail quickly and had 2 plumbers at my house within 30 minutes (another company didn't call me back and a third wasn't available for 5 days).

They quickly identified the cause of our leaky tub and did a great job fixing it. I was impressed with the speed at which they worked, the work they did, and their overall professionalism. They also took the time to show me what failed and didn't try to up-sell any additional work.

I don't know if their pricing is competitive, but I do know plumbers are expensive so I wasn't surprised by the bill. I will definitely call them again.
