Our regular plumber was out Monday to do routine maintenance on our sewer line, rodding out roots, etc. They stopped, saying there was a blockage, they couldn't get through. They marked the blockage in the street, (one of their crew said ""get some quotes""). The office sent a proposal, $15,000 +, with more ups and overs.

We contacted the Village, who sent a list of contractors. We hit the list first thing Tuesday and through some kind of divine providence came in contact with Jeff Kilian, S&K. ""If it's not a broken pipe, if anyone can get through the clog we can. We have special equipment.""

Jeff stopped by, the same day, Tuesday. He and his crew rodded the next day, Wed., for four hours. They got through. The problem: the Village T was compromised, needs to be replaced, but we were operational again.

I had the same experience with surgeons last year; many just plain don't know their craft. Then I found ""the one."" Head of ortho at top hospital. Figures.

When it comes to sewer line repair, Jeff is ""the one"". He saved us approximately $14,000. (Kilian is plumbing royalty here in the Village; the firm started here in 1928, Jeff worked there many years then struck out on his one to tackle tough jobs like this one).

Jeff told me, additionally, that some 40% of their work is redoing the job where others failed. (Includes us.)

I had sewer back up in the basement. They came and routed the pipe and told me it was collapsed and that I would have to replace it. I had a crew come out and break up the concrete floor to replace the pipe. THE PIPE WAS NOT BROKEN just clogged. We unclogged the pipe and replaced the concrete floor and had to hire a truck to haul away the broken concrete. BIG expense for nothing! I think I deserve a refund for all the trouble I had to go through because they did not know what they were doing!

These guys are great! Have used them several times for minor fixes and for a new garbage disposal. Very professional and courteous.

Worst Plumber of all time award! They came on Saturday as an emergency and charged a bomb but did not address the issue! They said they will get back to me with more information the following day. Still waiting for this info. I went ahead with another Plumber and they fixed the issue in no time! These guys are cheats! Beware! I would recommend going with lakeside Plumbing or J & S

Horrible! Used this company when we had a burst pipe. Charged way to much for 45 minuets of work.
