I had a great experience start to end with Sims & Sons! I needed 3 light fixtures replaced and from the onset of my experience, I was impressed. I was texting with the owner Darrell himself to coordinate exactly what I needed done as well as timing, pricing, and all that. For me the pricing was very reasonable and straightforward.

The two guys that came for the install, Andy and JJ, were awesome! My arrival window was 8am-10am. At 7:45am Andy texted to say he was on the way. They arrived just after 8am which was perfect.

They were communicative, thoughtful (Andy offered to help me clean something that we saw only once the old light fixture was removed) and I thought that was really nice of him to offer. JJ had to run to the truck a few times but I live in a 4th floor walk-up but he went up and down the stairs like a champ.

Overall, I'm glad to say I found my go-to electricians when I need one in Chicago!

I contacted Sims & Sons via text for some(what turned out to be) minor switch/outlet repairs I couldn't handle. They scheduled the appointment all via text. The technicians Andy and JJ reached out 30 mins prior to arrival. They evaluated the situation & came up with a solution and then worked together to get it resolved! I couldn't be happier with Andy and JJ's and the service & professionalism they provided!! I would highly recommend Sims & Son and especially Andy and JJ!!!!

These guys are great. We had an issue with the house to where power was going in and out randomly, particularly in rough weather and they noticed that comed had a loose connection to the house from a power line. They also found out other grounding issues that needed to be tended to but the first and most crucial step was to make sure that comed did their part to get the connection fixed. After a 3 way call between us, Sims and comed, and sims explaining the situation on our behalf (free of charge!), comed rectified the situation within less than 24 hours!

Regardless what happens next we will keep these guys in mind for our next project and any further electrical problems.

Great people, great service, great communication. Highly recommend!!

Fast quality service. Darryl came out to quote quickly after our request for an estimate. Very reasonably priced. Mike and JJ completed the rewiring of our nursery and communicated the timeline and project details throughout the work. I will definitely be reaching out to them for our next electrical project.

I have never had a worse experience with a plumber. I called them for a second opinion after a plumber quoted me $375 for replacing one P trap because I had a leak. They quoted me $470 to replace both, saying both needed to be replaced. I said fine, I didn't want to bother with this anymore. An hour into the work, they called me back and told me I needed to have my entire drain system replaced and it would cost me $1470. They also quoted me $400 to replace my faucet. I told them I couldn't afford that. I paid them the $470 and had my building engineer, who is a licensed plumber (highlrise unit) but is not allowed to perform work in units for pay to come in and take a look. He said the drain system does not need to be replaced, and that the work done to replace the p traps needs to be redone. The pipes were literally loose, and would soon leak. I have never had an experience like this. When I reached back out via text he responded with swearing at me and telling me I am full or #*it. Beware, can't understand how they are so well reviewed. Highly unethical company.

These guys are simply THE BEST. We needed some emergency electrical work done and I texted them at all hours of the night because I was so scared. They came right away and Darryl and Dylan treated us like family. I highly recommend them and they gave us a good price. They stayed all day to get the job done and I truly appreciate them.
