Our water heater failed last Thursday. I called Simply Green Plumbing Friday morning, they were out early evening to take a look. I was given an estimate of $978.61 to replace the pilot. When I got home, the part was installed and the heater still didn't work. Russell told me it was likely the burner assembly and he'd have an estimate for me Monday morning.

I did some research on Saturday and found that the average charge for the pilot replacement is $300.00. His estimate at three times that was a huge red flag.

Monday morning, I received a text from Russell that his guys had the parts and were on their way. Almost simultaneously, I received an email from Russell with the following estimates:

Option #1-Repairs ""+or-"" $TBD, = Est @ $1,800.00 (no description of the work to be performed or itemization-could it be any more ambiguous?)

Option #2-Full Replacement Water Heater = $4,696.00

Option #3-Full Replacement + Additional Warranty = $5,596.00

Option #4-Replace Recirculation Pump W/Above Options = $6,583.00

I took one look at these prices and told him not to come, I would have someone else do the work. I sent him a check for $300.00 to cover his time and cut my losses.

Next, I called Rob at Moomau plumbing. He told me that the AO Smith water heaters were known to have burner assembly problems. Billy, one of his guys, came out and took a look. He replaced the burner assembly, control valve, and recirculation pump for a total of $779.09.

A couple other things worth mentioning:

1) This water heater is only 6 1/2 years old (would you agree that this is a
premature failure in your experience?)

2) This water heater was installed by Simply Green Plumbing

3) Simply Green Plumbing offered us no consideration given the age of the
water heater, the fact that they sold and installed it, or because of the
known burner assembly problem

4) 6 1/2 years ago we paid Simply Green Plumbing $2,900.00 to replace this
water heater. That was a premium price then and still is by today's
standards

We had a major plumbing emergency this afternoon when we ran our washing machine and discovered our primary suite bedroom and bathroom, (on the opposite side of the house) suddenly flooded completely...with sewage... Thankfully we were working from home, but it was definitely NOT the Friday afternoon we'd had planned! We've had other issues with the plumbing in that bathroom in the past that we've been able to deal with on our own and minimize with some drain catchers. This was not the same and we knew we were in over our heads.

While my husband did his best to shop vac the water and move our furniture, I jumped online and found a handful of local plumbers to start calling. With my fingers crossed hoping we could get someone to come ASAP to help before the weekend, I was prepared to have to call plumber after plumber. Lucky for us, my first call was to Simply Green. We summarized the issue as best we could and they were able to get a crew here within the hour!

They sent a group of 3 guys who were all very respectful and worked hard to help cleanup and triage the issue. The owner, Russell, even came out to our house himself (on his birthday, no less!) and couldn't have been nicer. They spent several hours working to fix the immediate issues for us today, and used cameras throughout our plumbing and crawlspace to identify several other issues that we will need to address in the future. Two of them stayed until after 8pm to ensure the work was finished. Not once did we feel like they were trying to sell us on anything or being pushy, they were nothing but honest and professional. We won't hesitate to work with them in the future and will be happy to recommend them to friends in the area.

I have had the pleasure of working with Russell, the owner, and his extraordinary team of professionals. He and his team replaced and upgraded five toilets, installed a new water heater and updated and installed our salt water system/tank to minimize hard water deposits in our pipes and on our shower doors. In addition to all of these upgrades, his team took care of smaller problems, like leaky and corroded valves, that would eventually turn into larger problems had they been left undiagnosed.
Simply Green represents true value, quality, competence and expertise. Russell and his team are just the best and I am forever grateful that I found them during a Google search.
They are simply the best plumbing company in my opinion. Now they are my ONLY plumbing company!!!

I had Tyson service the house today here in Gilbert, and it was a relief to get someone as professional as he was. He listened to my concerns and offered numerous options to fix the problems. We have been working twice with them.
About a year ago they installed a new water heater and did a wonderful job.
So, when it was time to renew our pipes they were the first plumbing company we contacted and also the one we chose for the job. The project ended up to be way bigger than we initially thought. They exchanged water pipes and the waste lines inside and outside of the house. They installed a whole house water filtration system and softener as well as an osmosis filter for the kitchen sink.
Again they have been doing a wonderful job, working clean and always listening patiently to our needs along the way. The project hasn't been as smooth as we experienced it a year ago, but it's also way bigger and times are a lot different then they used to be.
In the beginning David gave us a good idea what to expect and how to optimize the project. Then Russel stepped in, offering advise along the way. Luis works clean and very attentive to the details, he also explains very well the task of the day and is very reliable if there's an issue. Hugo has also done a wonderful job and so did their other technicians.
But the absolute star of the company is Hilary. She's the nicest person, always a pleasure to talk to and always listening carefully. Hilary reliable supports us, communicates with us and quickly became our project manager.
Although there had been some hiccups along the way, in the end things are done to our satisfaction.
We would recommend Simply Green plumbing for your plumbing needs and are going to hire them again.

Our instant hot water unit started leaking. Hilary and her tam were able to locate a replacement and get it installed along with fixing some other leaks found in the cold water unit as well. Good job!

Customer service was great, that's about all. I tried to use this company for my business needs but took forever to get someone out to look at the issue. Then after 2-3 minutes diagnosing the problem and saying he didn't have parts to fix the toilet, the tech. tried to upsell me to buy a whole new toilet for a small leak.
No thanks.

OK, so we all know how people only write great or terrible reviews, but this is one of the good ones! I was able to schedule easily, then they were so kind when I had to reschedule. The morning of the appointment, they called, and texted a picture of the technician. Super appreciated in COVID times. Hilary (I think that's what her name is) was so open and honest- she said her tech was still learning English so he would be communicating through her. Anyways, he found 2 spoons in our disposal....Not naming names here...kids. It took a long time because he had to go under the house, BUT the cost couldn't have been beat. Will certainly call again when needed.
