As a native of the Adirondacks, I know how crucial comfort in the home is during the seasonal changes. From harsh, snowy winters to steamy summers, controlling the air quality in one's home is critical to transforming a house into a home. Juggling our busy lives both inside and outside our home, my family has experienced how efficient heating and cooling systems can dramatically enhance our lives. Following our summer activities to a comfortably cool home, to gathering in warmth after a frigid day on the local ski slopes, I am confident I will be at ease because of the systems I have put in for my own family. When we are all comfortable, we are simply happier, giving us extra time to enjoy each other and our lives. As the owner of this business, I am committed to helping others live safely and happily in their own homes and workplaces.

Nothing but a bad experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone . We had an issue with our well water pressure . 700 dollars later , we were diagnosed wrong , the kid lied to his company to save his own ass and said we were getting 17 lbs of pressure ( we ABSOLUTELY KNOW IT WAS 30 ) they installed a perfectly fine pressure valve and when in 4 days time , no water pressure again ! Another person came out ( same company) and told us we just needed to change to a different water filter . Problem is now completely fixed . When I asked the co for at least the diagnosis fee back , they said absolutely no cause they believed the kid who lied to them I would rate a zero if I could .
called for a mini split that was not working, they explained their fee schedule. $99 fee for driving 6 miles to my location. $125 charge for finding the issue, then was told by the tech he would stop back later that day to install part. He never came back, no one bothered to call. I called the next day to ask what happened with no explanation. The person did say they will get me on a schedule to have the part installed in two days... not acceptable.
they were here a total of a half to 3/4 of an hour and the tech decided it was more important to get to his next appointment than to finish my job. Only thing I could think of was gotta grab that $99 truck charge as quick as possible.
$230 plus dollars and I ended up going to get the part myself to complete the job I thought I hired them to do. It's a shame I was hoping for a good honest experience, no today.
Before I purchased my new heat pump and furnace, I was told there would be a substantial rebate on the heat pump - that was a year ago. When I inquired about the approximate length of time it would take to receive my rebate, I was told by their office staff it would take from three to five months. After making several inquiries and waiting seven months I called National Grid and was told that Simons had NEVER EVEN SUBMITTED the necessary paperwork and photos (that I was told were taken on the day of installation) through their portal.
My calls and emails were not responded to and the rebate ends in a matter of weeks. I was told two different rebate figures and informed that the exact amount would be up to National Grid. Either amount would have helped defray the substantial cost of the system.
I am a widow in my mid seventies. If Simons can brush me off and ignore me like they did, they will do the same to anyone. In my opinion, they are definitely UNTRUSTWORTHY! !
Sharon L.Our air conditioning unit was not working and when I called it was a 2 day wait for someone to come out and check it out. Understandably. Was given a window of between 10 and 12, he showed at 1:30, ok things happen. But he did absolutely nothing to fix our problem when he did eventually show up and charged us almost $250. I called another company who came out the next morning, a Saturday and checked all the lines to see if they could find the leak and then added refrigerant and dye to the system so we didn't have to be without air conditioning for the two weeks it was going to take Simons to come back. When I called Simons to discuss my displeasure with their service I was told that the route I took was not environmentally friendly. This is speculation as they did not know how long the leak has been there or how large it was. Being up there in age and my husband having heath concerns I am sure the route we took was the best. If anyone wishes to know the company I used they can message me. I will definitely not be using Simons again
My new Lenox furnace was installed yesterday by Bob and Ryan and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience.
My initial call I was handled by their knowledgeable office staff, I had a next day sales appointment with Jon, and a same day written estimate. Pricing was clear and very fair compared to 3 other local installers. Installation was stress free. My questions were answered professionally and courteously . The installation was clean, thermostat instructions were complete and I am happy and assured that I will have a comfy, worry free winter.
The initial visit was good, and I was optimistic our radiators and hot water would finally be functioning properly, especially after the repair man was at our house over 3 hours. We were told we would hear the following week about an estimate for the remaining work that needed to be done. Three weeks went by, and I didn't hear anything so I called to find out what was going on. The lady I spoke with told me ""I wish they wouldn't give unrealistic timelines."" I was shocked no one had been looking into what needed to be done and furthermore that the three weeks I had been waiting was unrealistic. She told me to follow up by the end of the week. I followed up yesterday and today, and got nowhere. Just a phone call saying there was someone coming up as per the schedule we had arranged which was not true. I've called numerous times and have not received a call in return. Needless to say, we will be moving on with a different company. I went from happy to greatly displeased.
Linda A.We recently had a new furnace installed. We are extremely pleased with the work that Jason and others did to make sure that everything worked properly and efficiently. They took extra care in removing the old one and cleaning up. A few days later, we needed them to come back to answer a few lingering questions, and with the kind help frrom Tammy, at the office, they came over to address those issues and gave us the answers. We recommend them to anyone who wants, professional, efficient, knowledgeable and dedicated, honest work done.
Beware. I was charged $400 for an emergency call ($225 service call and $149 diagnostic, plus tax). It's $99 at Rolland J. Down. The techs said that the furnace needed a ""board"" and it really wasn't worth fixing. They left and I assumed I'd get an invoice. The next morning, a woman from Simons called and was EXTREMELY rude. She wanted a credit card number and I was driving. She said it was theft of services? What? I told her that I was driving and that I'd call her back within the hour to give my credit card information. When I called back, I spoke to a woman named Tammy that was really apologetic. I had another company replace a high-limit switch and the furnace worked. Board was not faulty. I ended up replacing the furnace with another company. It was old and was time to upgrade.
Although I had a good experience when I had them install a mini-split air conditioning system in 2017 (maybe they were just anxious to get their hands on my $12,000.00 dollars??), I had a terrible experience with them in the fall of 2018 when I called them to service my gas furnace. Here is my diary of what happened:
10/29/2018 - They came to do yearly check on a/c and fix furnace which has been creating a lot of soot; cleaned furnace, said exhaust had excessive CO2 - service person Don doesn't know why; will talk to someone else and get back to us; said furnace was unsafe to operate
11/5/2018 - haven't heard anything from them; called and ""coincidentally"" they are to come out today after 3pm - NO SHOW, NO CALL; I called and left message with answering service that I would like a call back
11/6/2018 - Serviceperson Don called in am and he said burners will have to be replaced; will get a price and get back to us
11/9/2018 - no call yet; stopped by office at 10:15am; receptionist on phone, no acknowledgment; no one else there, left; called office at 11:45 - answering service answered, took number again for a call back
11/14/2018- still no call
11/21/2018 - no call
11/28/2018 - no call
12/21/2018 - After receiving an automated email Christmas wish I finally lost my patience and sent an email to them as follows,"" Thank you for the lovely automated Christmas wish. Too bad someone couldn't have contacted me when you left me in the lurch with a broken furnace and no heat.""
12/22/2018 - received a call from THE RECEPTIONIST apologizing for the ""slip-up.""
Needless to say I had already found someone reliable to do the necessary repairs.
I thought it interesting that no one in any responsible position felt it necessary to return my calls at any stage of this ridiculous saga.
I would highly recommend Simons Heating and Cooling. They replaced my old central air unit! They were fast and did a great job. Also the Techs were very helpful and neat! They carry excellent products.
