Under his father's mentorship, Jack built an unparalleled team that expanded their operations into the Philadelphia region, evolving this family venture into a dynamic regional business.
In 2010, Jack evolved that operation into an independent organization and changed its name to Sila Heating & Air Conditioning.

I am Garrett, the General Manager of Sila Heating, Air Conditioning, and Plumbing.

A $20 dollar part cost $390 on a service contract appointment. Outraged. Definitely not a trust worthy business. Not even 1/2 hour to change out. Unbelievable. Canceled contract before he was done and they still charged.

Sila recently installed a new electric water heater. The person who installed it was very pleasant, clean, efficient and professional. The water temperature was still too low and I called Sila the next day to have someone come out to increase the water temperature. I called on a Saturday and the person who answered the phone was very proactive; Roy was at our home within an hour after the phone call. He was very professional, greeted us with a smile, put on shoe covers and made sure we were happy with the water temperature before he left. Overall excellent experience.

I made an appointment with SILA because my main drain line from the house was almost completely blocked. The appointment process was seamless, and David V. came the next morning. Excellent work and explanation. A very skilled technician who really went the extra mile to clean out a very stubborn blockage. The drainage is 100% now and I couldn't be more satisfied with SILA and David V. The price charged was a real deal for the amount of work involved. I highly recommend SILA. Thank you so much.

I had an emergency call scheduled for Saturday, no later than 7- 8 pm. No one called or came. When I called the emergency number, I could only get a 3rd party answering service that had no access to the on call technician and could only send a message to the main office that I could do myself. Unfortunately, tomorrow is a Sunday and the day after is January 1st so no one to follow through on my lack of heat. And, I have had a contract for 14 years but have not required emergency service before. This is terrible quality of service

I DID GET A CALL FROM SILA AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS AND RESCHEDULED FOR 8 AM THE FOLLOWING MORNING. THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED ON TIME AND FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH GRACE. So it all ended well even though the technician who did not show could have informed me so I didn't have to wait for him for several hours

Reading some of the reviews now, it's just as well that this company didn't show up. Was scheduled for a generator tuneup, but they called & had to reschedule. At least they called that time. The day of the new appointment, I called twice & was assured the technician would be there. He was a no show. No call that time, just a no show after waiting all day.

things went well until I saw the energy efficiency rating on the EnergyGuide label left with me - 17%. I can't believe that a reputable hvac company would recommend, sell, and install a system with such a low rating In today's environment when there are so many other options available.

I asked Sila to do a routine inspection of the boiler in my house in Bala Cynwyd in late May. The serviceman told me that, given the age and condition of the boiler, the system should be replaced entirely. He went into detail, using terminology that I, as a lay person, had no way of knowing or understanding. He quoted a price for a new system of over $14,000, and gave me a very hard sell including, saying that the price was low because they were trying to keep their employees busy in the slow period before AC work came in (they have families to feed, he emphasized). I didn't sign.
The next day, a man from the Sila office called and continued the hard sell, at length, using the same arguments and terminology. Still, I didn't agree.
I called a second service, again asking for a routine check. They examined the system and found that it was working just fine, with no need for repair or replacement. Naturally, I was relieved.
I called the man at the Sila office and told him what the second service had said. He said he understood why they said the system was good and didn't dispute it, but stood by Sila's evaluation that total replacement was needed--an obvious contradiction.
Don't get bamboozled. Get a second opinion. Better yet, don't call Sila.

Terrible, Terrible, disorganized. They came out turned my unit off and told me I needed a new part not to run it.. They send another person 2 hours later for an estimate on a new unit !! not repair.. I called them 5x and spoke to 4 different people.. Finally learned they suggest replacing the entire unit for 9500 and not to replace the coil they said was leaking.. They did not do a dye test !! they wanted 3200 for a coil that they couldn't guarantee.. YOU TELL ME ?? They left the AC OFF and now I can't turn it back on. It was working when they came but not efficiently. Now it doesn't work at all and they don't answer the phone
