In 2010, Jack transitioned that venture into an independent company and rebranded it as Sila Heating & Air Conditioning.

A tech came to one of my properties for a second opinion. the tech convinced my tenant to stand in the kitchen as if the unit I purchased 7 year prior was going to blow up and told me to purchase a new unit from his company. I spoke with the original installer who came and replaced the motor and the unit had no further issues. saving me a grand total of $8k because the fix cost only $250. Scam artist I tell you. can't trust no one.

I made an appointment in early November 2024 to have our heater inspected .I was given a date in mid December that they cancelled . I reached out to them to have our dryer cleaned ( usually a $99 fee ) , and they gave me an estimate of $755 . A new dryer costs $478 . Very dishonest company that breaks promises and will ignore you the moment a more lucrative job comes up .

Do you want to wait a week during the winter to have your 3-year-old heater fixed? Be treated rudely and not have your warranty covered. Then Sila is the company to call! HoRRIBLE communication and service. Unfortunately, I purchased an air conditioner and heater with service from Fahrenheit. The owner was terrific. I also received excellent, courteous, and reliable service from his employees. I was pleased with Fahrenheit. My heater isn't working. So, I called Fahrenheit and was told they would be out the following day. I waited all morning and no show. I called Sila since the number for Fahrenheit went to that company. Sila said they had taken over Fahrenheit. Sila said they left a message that they couldn't come until next week. So I was angry. Sila said I had a manufacturer warranty, not a service. I told them Fahrenheit and said not to worry about any problems. Call, and they will be out to fix and keep the receipt in case parts are needed. I have a five-year warranty. I kept the receipt and told Sila I had a receipt. So they were going to charge for the service call. I saw that they had left a message that I missed. I called them back, but they refused to answer my call. In other words, they weren't going to honor my contract.
I am beginning to wonder if Google reviews are reliable.

Don't bother with this company. How many times have I made an appointment, taken the day off and they don't show? They want to reschedule. The excuse: we've had a lot of emergency calls. This last one on a 61 degree day.... heating emergencies! Really, give me a break! I don't even have my heat on. My appointment was made weeks ago for maintenance that I've paid way too much money for. It's a day off from work. I was told that it wouldn't be a problem for someone to come out 1st thing in the morning. I had to call them to find out that I wasn't on the schedule. Their yearly maintenance fee is over $600. Not worth it! DON'T. Just DON'T!!

These stars are for the technician, who was professional and courteous. However, I am disappointed with the overall service process. I scheduled an appointment for an HVAC specialist to provide estimates for three jobs: repairing my AC, which is leaking coolant, cleaning the vents, and installing a gas range vent. While the receptionist gladly booked the appointment, it became clear that an in-person visit was unnecessary for any of these estimates.

The technician informed me that the AC unit is too old to repair, as replacement parts are no longer available and the coolant is no longer legal. He had to contact his office to get a vent cleaning estimate, which is outsourced to another company, and told me that Sila does not install gas range vents at all.

In the end, I paid nearly $100 to be told that two of the jobs I needed could not be performed, and that the third could have been quoted over the phone. I am frustrated that the receptionist did not have the knowledge to assess whether an in-person estimate was needed in my case, resulting in a fee that seems unwarranted.

While I'm confident Sila provides quality work, I am dissatisfied with this experience.

I hired a plumber to come out and check a leak in my ceiling. He charged me $250 to cut a whole in my ceiling tell me he couldn't find the problem and he left. So now I have another problem to fix. Thanks

They installed my air conditioner seven years ago it worked beautifully until a rogue. Technician came out this year and told me I needed to spend $3900 to get it to spec The system is only 7 years old completely new , the air-conditioning was working had paid for a maintenance agreement. It was a scheduled service call and the technician told me that I had a leak and that I needed to spend $3900 to fix it ! I have called Sila I also called another company who came out the next day they disagreed with Sila's prognosis, I had already paid Sila $600. I called Sila to cancel future service and I asked to speak to a manager. No one has called me back. I was a very loyal good customer I spent over $30,000 with the company . They could not even give me the courtesy of a return phone call. do not go with this company it does not and will not get you anywhere very very disappointed.

Scam company uncharged me to hell and back. I had requested them to fix my AC, but as soon as they finished, it broke again within the day. They charged me $500 for a capacitor, which broke again within the month.

I really felt cheated. I booked an air conditioner diagnosis with Sila Heating,Air Conditioning &Plumbing. And, after Sila's staff came and diagnosed it, they told me to change the air condition. And, they sent me an estimate of $13,000. What I find absurd is that Sila Heating,Air Conditioning &Plumbing did not diagnose properly. However, I had to pay $99 for the diagnosis fee.
However, I once again received an air conditioner diagnosis through another company. A person with 25 years of experience received the diagnosis that all you need to do is change the compressor. I was so angry. Through Sila Heating,Air Conditioning &Plumbing's inaccurate diagnosis, we almost wasted a lot of money. Please also protect your precious money from Scylla.

BEWARE! This is the most unreliable company we have ever dealt with! We were scheduled for the ""first"" appointment of the day. Diane called at 5:22 pm to reschedule! They are extremely unprofessional & unreliable. I would give them zero stars if possible. Thanks a lot for wasting our time!
