Effective Sideris Plumbing is the best plumber in New York. I first met their plumber Sergio Siles when he fixed a leak under my sink in minutes, after it had been misdiagnosed by at least 3 different plumbing teams. Since then, their plumbers have snaked a drain and even done major work within the walls, all with perfect professionalism, excellence, and long-term sustainability. I would never call anyone else.

When it comes to boiler replacement the Sideris Plumbing & Heating company is the best! They were more than competitive with price, very efficient in their work and overall great professionals.

I'm not sure what the other reviewers mean about a charge for their quotes since i was not charged a fee for my estimate. John and his team were great and I will definitely be calling on them again for any future work!

My dad was discharged from the hospital and came home to a cold house. After settling him in with the help of EMT's and Hospice Team, I realized that my knowledge of boilers, water heaters and anything found in the basement was not second nature. I sought the help of a couple of family members who did a bit of troubleshooting but none of it worked. It was getting colder in the house by the minute and with the dropping temperature, I feared for the safety of my father.

I went online after I took pictures of the make and model number of my dad's 30 year old boiler. I watched a couple of youtube videos to have a better Idea about what the issue could be or at minimum, know how to identify any parts. I did a google search for technicians that knew how to troubleshoot and fix this old boiler and a few companies came up. For some reason, John J. Sedaris was the company I called and it was the best decision I made.

I called at 4:21PM and Mr. Sedaris answered on the 1st ring! He was very patient with me and put me at ease immediately. He was concerned but I felt safe and trusted his guidance while he had me open the cover to the boiler. He immediately saw the problem after I sent him some pics and said that someone from his team would arrive in about an hour.

John Jr. came prepared with the part and it took home just a few minutes to swap it out and test. Heat was back on and all was back to normal. John Jr's service, professionalism and compassion were exceptional and I would highly recommend this company!

Work done was shoddy for supposed professionals. Took much longer to have service turned back on than should have been and the bill was much higher than quoted. Not Honest! Terrible lies were told.
I will never use them again an would suggest that potential customers find a more reputable company.
There are more reputable companies available. Research!!

They came and supposed to have to find leak. but did not, and also we hire them for 2 jobs, both of them they failed to follow the specs. When we question them, they said they don't have to follow the specs. We had a main gas line shut off by Con Ed, they did not help us restore the line that has leak, only restore the line that has no leak to start with. And it also takes much longer than necessary to file our document for inspection, & also after inspection and to turn our gas back on. On top of all these, they are also more expensive than other plumbers.

The Sideris professionals did a fine job for us. They had done a job in one apartment of our building installing a thermostat for controlling the apartment's heat and we liked what they did on this small job We had a main gas line shut off by Con Ed which is a big deal. Sideris responded to us faster than the other 2 companies. They inspected the problem and gave us an estimate at no charge. Another company said they would not give an estimate without our paying for their time. Sideris found the gas leaks and made the repairs in a straightforward and due diligent manner. I was a contact person and I watched how consistently they performed troubleshooting in each apartment and in our boiler areas. They gave us information in timely fashion and solved the problem and navigated through the bramble of Department of Buildings and Con Ed inspection processes that can take forever if you pick the wrong plumber. I am very satisfied with the quality of the work and the competence of the people they sent in timely fashion to get our gas restored.

Good but a caveat in the review on their electrician!

Got work done with them in 2017. Wanted to get a NEST thermostat installed on a hot water radiator heat line. They did a fantastic job and were thorough to know what needed to be done.

I wasn't a big fan of the electrician they worked with though. He made an extra hole (cause he needed to run a line from the thermostat to the valve) and didn't patch them up. I had to get another contractor to fix those.

Sideris Plumbing & Heating is a great company. They are experts in their field and are professional. I was having issues with my heating system last winter and wanted to get it checked out now during the summer months. I was referred to the company by a friend to call. I spoke with John the owner and he came over to give an estimate and see the job. My heating system was very outdated and he recommended to replace both the boiler and water heater. He gave me a price and assured me that his company knows how to do the job right, I will have peace of mind and be warm in the winter. They sent Richie, a very knowledgeable and kind technician to do the job. They finished the job quickly and the work looks great. Will definitely call again!

Don't waste your time, especially for smaller jobs.
I had two small, simple jobs, and was told they could do them, and they'd be there the next day, between 9 and 12. When they hadn't shown at 11:50, I called. Was told they were ""on their way to me from the last job and should be there any minute."" At 3:00, they still hadn't shown. I called again. ""They apologize; they couldn't come in today,"" whatever that means, ""but they can definitely do the job, and will give you a call this evening or tomorrow morning."" By the next afternoon there was still no communication from them. At 3:00 I received an EMAIL stating they apologize, but can't take the job. No reason was given. In my humble opinion, this is INEXCUSABLE behavior for any business.
Go with Sanitary Plumbing & Heating Corporation; they were extremely professional, prompt, and polite.
