I called this clown for an estimate on some small work guy was a total dick on the phone no wonder only 2 stars
Sharon S.Side Jobz LLC just finished installing brand new interior doors throughout our home. Because each one of doors had to be custom fit, this wasn't a normal run of the mill job. Mark Zemko owner and operator, put us at ease right away with his knowledge and experience. This guy knows what he is doing. His right hand man, also named Mark, has excellent work workmanship, attention to detail and professionalism. The best part is Mark & Mark work together to solve problem areas. They are both creative in solving complex situations that don't fit the norm. If you are looking for quality workmanship, professionalism and someone who takes pride in their work, then I highly recommend SideJobz LLC. We look forward to to hiring them again soon for further home improvements!
Amy K.Unprofessional. Came over and quoted me and said someone could come out later that day to fix my plumbing issue. I called him back twice toward the end of the night and he responded with one of his plumbers is not coming back to work so he couldn't get me in until Friday. I have not had a working kitchen sink for two days. He could have at least communicated with me throughout the day. No attempt to get in touch with me again until I called him. I would not use the service.
Mark and his employees are very professional and do amazing work. I used them multiple times while getting my house ready to sell. Very fair pricing on estimates and the work was great. I have recommended them to multiple people.
Gary P.Repair job cost me $550 over the quote due needing additional day of ""lift"" rental. Should have needed lift for one day only, but he failed to rent the proper equipment, not only was it the wrong size, and had to take it back and get a larger one, even more time would have been lost if I hadn't used my tractor to move and position the lift. I checked out what the lift rental costs were, and he also added hundreds on for the cost of the rental. Mark is friendly enough, but I won't hire him again. He also took a long time to provide a quote, and that was a verbal over the phone quote; once I agreed, the written quote had stipulations about number of boards to be replaced. The problem with that was, he walked to job twice, and didn't specify how many boards, the quote was to do the job, not specific boards. Frankly, business is good now (hard to get people out for quotes and to do the job), but when things slow up, this guy will need to change if he expects to stay in business.
Joe D.UPDATED 7-1-2017:
Mark contacted me and let me know that the piece of siding that is now currently in disrepair is different from the one he fixed, and that is a true statement. I realize now that he is correct, and I was wrong in challenging the workmanship. What Mark has failed to realize however, is that his customer service is still poor. Interactions with Side Jobz staff, Mark and Martin, were unpleasant; I felt that responses to my concerns were not handled with respect or courtesy. All I wanted was something to the effect of: ""We're sorry that you're unhappy with our service, but please give us a chance to make the situation right."" I did not get anything even close to this.
I contacted Mark around October 2016 about some seemingly simple siding repair. I sent him a picture of the damage, he quoted me $150 for the repair to which I agreed, although I thought it was a bit expensive for what seemed like less than an hour of labor and no itemized invoice of parts required. His contractor showed up in a reasonable timeframe, spent less than 30 minutes on the repair, I paid him, and he left. Fast forward a few months, and I noticed that the exact same issue with the siding has returned. I contacted Mark and let him know that I was unimpressed with his company's workmanship. We exchanged a few emails, he sounded like he would fix the situation, and I waited. And waited. Fast forward a few weeks later to now, I called and left a voicemail, to which he has not responded. Bottom line: I have been underwhelmed by his customer service, underwhelmed by his company's workmanship, and underwhelmed by his billing methodology. I would not recommend his services to anyone. Granted, my job was a seemingly small one, but everything about it was handled poorly, in my opinion.
Good luck hiring this guy. Last year on Labor Day weekend he agreed to come and do some work on the outside of my house so I could put it on the market. From that first weekend in September all the way through December, he said he'd get here ""next week"". Rather than just saying he couldn't (or wouldn't) do the job, he just kept putting me off, telling me he already ordered the materials, and kept me hanging on with promises and excuses. Shame on him. But shame on me, too, for believing him. I finally hired someone more reliable.
