Update to previous review

It's been 6 years since I provided my last review on this company. Long story short, the water heater that was installed by Sicari less than 6 years ago already broke. I believe the average life of a water heater is about 8-12 years. Called a different company this time for the replacement just to be told the previous installation was done wrong. I'm not going to go into all the details; however, one example is the water softener - it was installed on the outtake rather than the intake. Another example is the pan that was installed underneath the water heater - it wasn't installed correctly so the water that was collected once the water heater started to leak not only drained all over the floor, it also drained in to the water heater itself. Don't know if these installation errors caused the water heater to go kaput after less than six years, but no matter what, I would expect any reputable company to properly install the equipment it sells.

Sicari Plumbing has been taking care of me since 1999 installing new or doing repair work on sinks, toilets, showers, dishwasher, pool equipment piping etc.. Top notch all the way around. They have been the only vendor I have ever engaged to work on my home for such a long period of time with such a consistent high level of service.

My brand new Whirlpool water heater was dripping from the pressure release valve. I called them and they referred me to Sicari plumbing. I called them and they sent a technician within an hour.

I met Dave. Very pleasant & polite, professional looking plumber. He looked at the water heater and and my old one (right next to it which had exploded) and said he is going to check my pressure. Once he hooked up his gauge, it flew to 150psi. He was shocked it was soo high and that other appliances didn't explode. He immediately knew it was my homes pressure regulator was bad. We live in the mountains where we have hard water which destroys these things in 10 years (last one was replaced 10 years ago).

He gave me a price which I thought was decent. Mind you, I do know my way around the house and I know how much these regulators cost, but since he was already here and he had the parts in his truck, I thought it would be nice to not have to tend to something once in a while.

He quickly changed it out in less than 5 minutes and everything was working great again. He also went and replaced the pressure release valve on the hot water heater anyways just to be safe.

Came to change out the valve seats on a leaky shower. While he was there, I asked him to tighten a couple of bolts on my toilet and install a new shower head I had waiting. Tried to charge me almost $700. I had supplied all of the parts, materials, and most of the tools. No written estimate up front. His manager called later to negotiate a more reasonable price, saying the worker was new and didn't understand the rates. He thought he saw a chump and tried to take advantage. Never using them again.

Used these guys for warranty service for brand new Rheem water heater. Although Joe(?) was cordial and pleasant, they did not properly fix water heater issue and the heater broke down again a few days later. When I called him back, he refused to schedule appointment or come back until he got approval from Rheem. When I asked him if he guaranteed his work, he stated that they guaranteed it for 30 days, I told him it was 1-2 week when he came out to do the work. He still refused to schedule the ""guarantee"" on his work until he talked to Rheem...not much of a guarantee if you want to make sure you get paid for repairing something you should have repaired the first time.

Not impressed, there are much better and more responsible licensed plumbers out there.

He did call me the next day (after he talked to Rheem) to schedule appt, but I would rather pay out of my own pocket a pro that is responsible...

Hot water heater went out & when I called the gentleman who answered was very nice & I absolutely loved the plumbers!!!

The driver of van 8 is a speed demon on the road. He cut right in front of me on the 2 and 134 interchange. There was heavy traffic and the flow was slow but he forced his way in. He is dangerous. Do not hire a company that will put everyone at risk for their services. I have family all over the area and we will never hire this company for any service.

Fist I gave them two stars instead of one because he was able to replace a part under my sink to stop a leak, though he did charge 250 dollars for a 15 dollar part. Then it was time to clear the drain. The plumber was unable to get the cap off the kitchen sink clean out, mainly because he was using the wrong tool, I think. He told me that it wasn't coming off because someone painted it?! Then because of this, told us that he needed to go on the roof and that it would cost 200-250 dollars more. Drain clearing on there website is fifty dollars! I knew he was trying to pull a fast on me, so I asked him to leave. After he left I grabbed a wrench and had the cap off in two minutes. I then called helping hands plumbing and they came and cleared the drain for 35 dollars no problems or up-sell.
I would not use this company, call helping hands plumbing instead, much more honest and wont try and charge you more for ridiculous reasons. Plus they were much nicer on the phone and in person.
If you don't mind paying more for basic services I am sure they probably will get the job done, but I will never use them again!

(UPDATE) I thought it was important to update, obviously I was very upset when I wrote the original review. The company did send me a check to refund these services a couple months later without explanation, still a refund. I can accept that maybe it was a bad employee and their services may not always be this way. But unfortunately these events happened and it was my experience. So even though they gave me a refund, I could not in good conscious remove the review.

Received their number from the manufacturer of our water heater. Was told it was a flat rate but after they came to ""fix"" my water heater left my garage in shambles, unplugged my water heater and left telling me to wait for a call for further instructions.. Received the call an hour later telling me I needed a new water heater but they wouldn't install it til I installed a new regulator. I had been without a water heater for two days asked how much to fix the regulator they wanted $450 ( the plumber I actually hired said it would be no more then $150 including the part).. In disbelief I asked okay what about the heater well we need more money to come back. They rescinded on their ""flat rate."" I don't think the people giving this company 5 stars actually used this company. Bottom line they are extortionist. They leave the customer vulnerable and try to extort more money!! Stay far far far away!! Already ha my manufacturer take them off their list.
