Shumate (Andy and Juan and Team) just finished installing a new furnace and AC unit for our lower level. In addition to the installs, we needed to move the ductwork upward toward the ceiling and shift the furnace about 15 inches toward a wall. FANTASTIC OUTCOMES! We could not be more pleased. Shumate now has our HVAC franchise.

Many requests. Not one response. I have inquired about the maintenance service 4 times over the past several months. Not once have I received a reply back. Guess they don't want new business. :-/

Tech Savvy Tim Is Tops! The vents were blowing hot air from my 20-year old builder grade A/C unit. I did some research and called Shumate for an appointment. Tim came out to our home on-time and with a great attitude on a very hot day. He diagnosed the leak problem and added enough Freon to keep me going through the remainder of the summer. He didn't try to sell me a new unit. He didn't try to convince me the end was near. He simply fixed the problem and gave me some advice and options. No pressure. Just a laid-back nice guy with tech savvy air conditioning smarts who was extremely helpful and honest. A rare find these days. Wish all service calls could be handled just like Tim.

My semi-annual check up was done on Friday, September,9, 2016. The tech was not as efficient as past techs. Arrived at 5:30pm, turned the heat on and changed the filter. Then sat in my driveway for about 25 minutes. I would not like for that tech to service my unit again. I have been pleased with prior service, only was dissatisfied with the.most recent service. I could not be happier with Shumate. Dennis set the tone with two excellent, thorough quotes. I was surprised to receive pricing well below the rest of the """"big"""" companies (even though they did not address several key items), and a very fast installation timetable. On the day of install, Ronaldo and the crew were great. They were timely, respectful of my property and family, and very thorough. This was my first time replacing a complete HVAC system, and Shumate made it a quick, painless, and relatively inexpensive process. I will be happy to recommend Shumate to my family and friends. UPDATE: We just had our one-year checkup on our system. There was an issue (unknown to us), caused by the installation. The technician was very upfront and honest about the issue, and the follow-up from the company was timely and honest, as well. The technician who found the issue performed a temporary fix late into the evening, and another crew was out the very next day to complete the permanent fix. No charge. I was impressed by the technicians' honesty, that everyone at Shumate took personal responsibility, and that they fixed the issue quickly and free of charge. If you think about it, they didn't have to do that- a company with less integrity would have hidden the mistake or fixed it without telling us, just to save face.

Have used Shumate for years, but this summer had a love/hate relationship with them. Had a coolant leak they could not find until recently. They were out here 8 times, sometimes just to add coolant, other times looking for the leak. But it was a slow leak, and hard to find. I got frustrated at times, as did Shumate. But they stuck with it, found the problem and fixed it. They were great about the charges -- sometimes not charging me at all for the coolant added or their visit. They are a good company, and I plan to continue using Shumate for my HVAC needs.

EEEkkkkk!! Water was coming out of the hot water heater! Help!!! They told me over the phone how to shut off the water, then came later in the day to diagnose and schedule the repair. I was grateful for their quick response. The Shumate guys are great at explaining things to me and showing me where mystery house things are (like cut off valves, etc)! And they do it with good humor without making me feel silly for asking! I have used them for nearly 20 years for my HVAC system, this was the first time I used them for the hot water tank.
