After moving into our home 2 years ago, we decided it was time to have our cesspool serviced. Never having a cesspool before, I didn't know what to expect. Everything was explained and I learned a lot! Very personable and knowledgeable company! Very honest too!

I blindy chose this company, over the many options online, to tend to my late fathers cesspool needs because Shorty's is obviously a family business. When I called their online business phone number I spoke with Monica. Immediately, Monica was absolutely fabulous. She was very understanding about my not knowing where the cesspool access/cap might be on my fathers property, that I was hoping for expedition, that noone could not be present for the cleaning and that I would need particular payment arrangements since none of my siblings or I live locally.
It just so happened that my fathers cesspool did not need cleaning/emptying and they were very honest about it. (Not sure if they could have stated otherwise, like is there a creed/code of ethics in this line of business, no matter I feel that it was honorable).
So now, the only not perfect experience with Shorty's was dealing with C/Kathy, Monica's mother, regarding the receipt/payment. C/Kathy was not rude, per se, but definitely not as warm and inviting as Monica. After settling the bill in a most curt manner, I had asked if she could ask Shorty to let me know where he located the cesspool access on my fathers property for future reference****** Within seconds I did acknowledge that it might not be too necessary since we are selling the house in the next few months*** Sooo, in what I felt was a very condescending manner, C/Kathy told me that, for the most part, Shorty had 'to find' the cesspool and that it should be, ughh, obvious if I just look for it myself, duh. There didnt seem to be the same appreciation from C/Kathy, for my business , as there had been with Monica which is a shame since most small businesses normally rely on word of mouth and referrals.

Anyway, I really still enjoyed my interactions with Monica and her/their honesty about the empty cesspool so I stand by a 5 star rating..

I had the pleasure of using this great service for a memorial for my mom. They are fantastic and very professional. The porta potty was super clean unlike other companies that deliver really run down not so nice looking porta potties. I definitely recommend this excellent company and will use them in the future! This is a great family run business headed by Mike Short. I have only had to use them about 3-4 times over the past 10 years. The first few times were getting the (very old) cesspool cleaned, and then about 5 years ago the old one collapsed and they put in a new one. Never had to call them since. They were always friendly, quick, reasonably priced. Best of all, they would come back to check on everything as a follow up within a few days just to make sure all was well. They also gave me tips on how to avoid needing to drain the cesspool by making a bacteria out of water and sugar that does it naturally.
