We hired Shirley Air to install new ductwork for our home, the workers arrived 2 hours late, we had to contact the owner of "Shirley Air" to see why his workers weren't there at the time we were told. During the installation the workers dropped "putty'' down onto the "Coil" of the A/C unit. They dropped so much of the "putty", and months later we had a leak in our A/C coil unit where "Shirley Air" workers had dropped the "puddy" down onto our "coil". We contacted our HVAC company, and they discovered all the "putty" that this company "Shirley Air" workers had dropped all over our upstairs unit. We asked the company that services our unit and two other HVAC companies if by them dropping this "puddy" down onto our "Coil" unit, could it cause a leak, "all three companies" stated to us, yes it can cause a leak. When we contacted the owner of "Shirley Air" he stated his worker didn't cause the leak by dropping the "puddy" down onto and inside the "Coil". We came to know "Shirley Air" through the owner of "Dalworth Clean", that uses "Shirley Air for all their duct cleaning business. The owner of Dalworth Clean, contacted the owner of "Shirley Air" twice trying to get him to do the right thing the owner of "Dalworth Clean" is one that believes in making things right with his customers and that's why he asked "Shirley Air" to do the right thing by coming back out to see and correct the problem his worker had done. The owner of Shirley Air wanted to just by the a "Coil", but wanted us to have someone to put it in, he didn't want to put it in and "repeatedly" stated that he was not going to put it in, he was just wanting to buy a "Coil" and for us to find someone to put it in.
We talked with three other companies that we had contacted about putting it in, and all the other companies refused to put it in also and didn't understand why he's willing to replace the "Coil" but didn't want to have it put in himself. The other companies didn't know anything about the "Coil" and stated the "coil" could be a bad coil and one that they can't give us a warranty on them putting it in for us. The owner of "Shirley Air" was willing to purchase a new coil to replace the one his workers dropped "puddy" down onto our unit, if he didn't think his worker didn't cause the leak, then why is he's willing to purchase a new coil? The owner of "Shirley Air" continued to say he's not coming back because he's too busy and not willing to have his company put the "Coil" in for us, so the other companies that came out told us, it's best to buy a new unit since the unit is older, and not chance something else going out because of so much of the "puddy" that "Shirley Air" dropped down onto the unit.
When we contacted the two companies about putting a new A/C unit in for us, one of the companies went upstairs to look at the unit size and came back down and asked us who put the ductwork in, and we stated to him "Shirley Air", he stated to us that "Shirley Air" did a poor job and that "Shirley Air'' put the wrong size ductwork in for the size unit that we had, he put in writing that the current system at that time was a 4 ton system which requires 1600 CFM of air, the current ductwork that was replaced by "Shirley Air" only supplies 845 CFM's of air, he also put in writing that there are 2 things that causes a "Coil" to freeze up is a lack of airflow across the Coil and a leak in the Coil system. We decided to go with the company that we've used for two years, this company also agreed with the other company that the wrong size ductwork was installed by "Shirley Air", and they had to go in and add a larger and more ductwork to get the correct size ductwork before installing the new unit. The company that installed the new unit had such a hard time getting the old unit out due to the mess of the "puddy" that "Shirley Air" dropped onto the unit when installing the ductwork.
God had these two companies looking out for us, to let us know that the
"Shirley Air" takes advantage of the disable to benefit his business. Please run from this company.

There is not a recommendation I can write that would do this company justice. The service is always impeccable. They do an awesome job from dispatch to technician to make sure you are taken care of properly. They saved me hundreds of dollars over the company that installed my unit that stated that the equipment would not be covered under warranty and it was. I appreciate Shirley's prompt service and reliable staff. If you must go through a HVAC company to honest work, then this is who you should choose.

Will not use this company again. Called because our AC was out, was told they would be out at 1pm. Never showed up and never called. They finally showed up after 2 hours and after I called to make sure they were coming out. Service seemed to go ok and they got my AC to work, however not even a week later it was down again. I called and they said they would be out to look at it. Never called or showed up, so we called someone else who came out. They found our problem, which the guys from Shirley never even checked for or found. The money we spent with Shirley was a waste. We will never call them again.

Shirley Air is a great company to call if your having any issues in your home or apartment. I had them clean my ducts in my apartment and they did a fantastic job. They were efficient, professional and knowledgeable. Last fall we moved into our new home and had a leak in our duct work they came out and fixed the problem in no time. Thanks Shirley Air for always doing a great job. Will be calling them in the spring to do a twice a year check of our a/c and heating units.
