Recommended Customer Reviews

I wish I read the yelp review about this guy. My father had hired Mr. Shin thru a referral to do a plumbing job (re-piping). A great deal of what he promised to do was shortchanged by completely changing the dimensions of pipe (from 1 in. to 3/4 in pipe) and altering unilateraly the original layout and delaying the whole project at his own fault. I had to intervene to mediate between my folks and this guy who showed very negative attitude and abusive language. He threatened to abandon the work with my house's ceiling already halfway open because he did not like that we kept asking questions.
He did not explain well nor had any contract written per se. When politely asked why he did not write a written contract with details of his work nor more detailed estimate, he simply answered that he does not ""trust"" in contract but in words which he apparently twisted to abuse unsuspecting customers who trusted in his 19+ years of experience. I still have doubts how he can last this long when his service is a ""F"".
At one point, he misplaced some part and ordered to me purchase a whole new pressure regulator. Even though he kept promising guarantee on his workmanship, I am not sure if what he delivered after all this ordeal would not fail me. I am praying that I do not have to call other plumber to fix the mess-up (he patched the wall where he should not have in order to replace my fixtures).

I hired this plumber (Mr. Shin) to replace my kitchen faucet and the valves under the sink. He didn't know what he was doing, and kept tossing his tools all over my kitchen floor. I was so afraid he was going to crack the tiles.
This is how incompetent he was - he attached the faucet on backwards, and had to take it apart and re-do it. Everyone makes mistakes, and I'm a forgiving person. But it was hard to believe that this guy was an experienced plumber that he claimed to be - he made a mistake at every step, and just kept on trying to jam the wrong thing into the wrong place even though it didn't fit. I kept having to ask him, ""Uh, isn't that hose supposed to go in there?"" Etc. And he'd be like, ""Oh yeah! Duh."" This happened many times. And this wasn't even a complicated job! Was he drunk or something?
Not to mention, he didn't even have the right parts with him, and jammed the wrong-size rubber washer in one of the pipe connections. A few weeks later, it busted and started leaking! Good thing I was home to notice, or else I would have had some serious water damage to deal with!
So I called him and told him to come back and fix this, and he was like, ""Oh, I'll stop by when I have time."" So when is that going to be? ""Oh, I don't know. I'll call you."" What?!? My pipes are leaking because you messed up, you are going to call me when you feel like it?
So I told him, ""Look, it's leaking, this is serious. It is your responsibility to fix this, so I need a time commitment."" Apparently, the suggestion that his performance may have been less than perfect really pissed him off, and he yelled a bunch of abuse at me. He eventually said, ""I'm not helping you because you are stupid."" Like I'm asking him for a favor or something.
So anyway, this guy sucks. If you have a plumbing problem, hire someone else.
