I launched my business in 2005 and it continues to be a small, family-run operation. Carlos Ordonez III is the owner. The motivation behind starting my business was my layoff in 2005 from my role as a plumbing/HVAC foreman due to the recession affecting our nation, and I had to discover a means to provide for my family.

Recommended Customer Reviews

Read the reviews and avoid this company at all costs. they are totally scammers.....really just horrible untrustworthy questionable licensed dispatch company that swindled us. Zero customer service or professionalism, I know Santa Fe is limited in many business like this but if you don't like getting ripped off and lied to your Face I'd search elsewhere.

Do not use this company unless you have a few thousand dollars around for a bogus diagnosis, like tens of thousasnds. No stars, but to get this online I had to click on a star.

Our furnace quit completely the other afternoon around 4:50. I called and they were there within an hour. Folks, we've had a few HVAC issues over the years, and that was the quickest time I've ever experienced. Malcom was his name. He quickly diagnosed the issue and gave us a plan to get the furnace going again asap. It's an old clunker so it wasn't done until they got the right parts, but still. He and his apprentice could not be more polite, professional and informative. And he didn't try to upsell me. Can't tell you how often that happens around here and I'm so pleasantly surprised he was respectful enough to not do so.

I believe you get what pay for, as the saying goes. My experience with Cartwright's followed that idea. They were the most expensive but also the most professional and technically qualified by far. You can find plumbers for $50/hour that can fix many things. My last experience with this type caused more leaks than we started with and they were unable to find replacement parts. I was impressed with Shane and Ryan's ability to solve several real time problems during the course of their work resulting from the age of my old house. If you want a top end job go with them.

Total rip off!!! Only rookies (new home owners = me) or people who are new to this town, must be using them. INSANELY expensive. Be aware, they don't charge by the hour but by the job. I fell for their ""service buddy"" since the furnace was purchased by the previous homeowners from Cartwright's. ($400 for two service visits a year) The guy was very eager to find other things ""wrong"" and needed immediate fixing (which another plumber disagreed with) He was unprofessional, calling me ""sweetie"" a number of times, used patronizing language for questioning the pricing and broke the light switch in the utility closet. I will NEVER use them again.

This company will rip you off. Cartwright's charged me $583.50 in labor for a few manual labor tasks and a mini-camera inspection of a venting system (exactly two PVC vents). Total time worked? Less than an hour. Total bill for less than an hour? $722.86. I complained and they gave me the run-around, saying that they charge by the ""job"". I asked them what job could justify $583 for less than an hour's work and they stopped answering my multiple emails. I filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's Office. Even after telling them I had hired them 10 months prior for a different mini-camera inspection and it was half the price? No response. I am shocked that this place hasn't been shut down for unfair trade practices, they're predators.

1 star is too kind. Cartwrights may have answered the call, but we really wished they hadn't. Cartwright's used a fixed fee service, which we were not informed about in advance. They charged $400/hour for labor and a 1.67% markup on parts. This company swindled us!

Cartwright Plumbing and Chuck did a great job helping us on our heating system. Chuck was very knowledgeable about our situation. He was patient and stayed with us to make sure we were satisfied. Thank You again.

Cartwright's is always to the rescue on a timely basis when we have a plumbing or heating/cooling issue. They are pleasant and courteous when we call. We always ask for Ed Romero who magically figures out the problem and solutions quickly! I never worry that the problem can't be fixed!! They are prompt, efficient and professional!!

Twenty years ago this was a reputable company. Not anymore. I hired them recently to replace a Water Pressure Reducer Valve. This is a simple task that I had another company perform 4 years ago. The replacement part costs about $80 and it takes about a half-hour of labor.
You can imagine my surprise when the service technician handed me a bill for over $1000! He said the part cost was $800 and the labor was two hours at $145 an hour. I was furious. I've lived in Santa Fe for 26 years and was indignant at being swindled by a local firm. The service tech called the main office at Cartwright and they said to give me the good customer discount. The service then wrote me a new invoice: $270 for the part and only one hour labor at $145. This is still more than triple the cost of the part, and double the cost of normal labor. THIS IS A COMPANY OF SWINDLERS. DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
