So happy we got Dave's name from our neighbor. He came out within an hour after I first called him and give us an opinion on the mess that is our sewer system (the joys of owning an old home). It was so nice to have someone who knows these old neighborhoods (Normal Heights, Kensington, North Park) and how things work. Such a relief to have his card and know who to call for future needs. He actually advised us not to spend any money now, so clearly not in it to rip us off!

Dave just completed a big job for us and his work was impeccable. After 7:00 PM we noticed our water heater was leaking. He picked up the phone after his posted business hours and rearranged his schedule so that he could squeeze us in first thing the next morning. He spent time investigating the problem and explained possible solutions. We decided to install a tankless water heater and are so happy with Dave's excellent work. He is an honest plumber with more than 30 years experience. He is reliable, punctual and fair. His prices are WELL below the advertised plumbers we see on TV. Dave has a great personality and sense of humor which was an added bonus.

Called Dave on the recommendation of a neighbor and he was able to come by the next day to look at a problem we were having with the kitchen faucet as well as one with the bathroom toilet. He was able to fix both on the spot. Pricing is about what you'd expect, so I can't say it was super cheap or too expensive, but I suppose you get what you pay for most of the time. I'd recommend him to others and will call him for future plumbing needs.

Dave was amazing on all the important points: responsive, prompt, professional, more than fair in pricing, and got the job done (the job being a clogged kitchen sink drain that he diagnosed very efficiently and snaked out very quickly). The only reason I didn't give him 5 stars was due to something he can fix (and if he does, I'll edit this to give him 5 stars). I'm Asian and don't wear shoes in the house. I don't expect people I hire who come into my house to fix things to take off their shoes, but I've hired other plumbers who bring disposable booties. Would save me a lot of time and trouble cleaning the kitchen floor after Dave had left if he had invested in some booties. Anyway, if someone else posts a comment saying he did, I'll change my rating to 5 stars - he certainly deserved it in every other respect!!

Dave is the man! I had almost completed an installation of an under sink water filter, and asked for his help. He gave me some needed pointers, and was on his way. He knew I was close, and was going to be able to finish the job myself, so he didn't charge me. He also completed a flush out of my main line about a year ago when it got clogged with some branches, and it was super reasonable in terms of price. Would definitely recommend!

Wow. I wish all service people were as honest and direct as Dave Shelton of Shelton Plumbing is. I called him about a stuck bathroom faucet, and instead of immediately coming out (and charging me a service call), he asked that I take a photo of the faucet and text it to him. He was able to tell me that the parts needed would be replaced for free by the manufacturer, and to call and have them send the new parts before he came over.

Once the parts arrived, he showed up promptly and fixed what turned out to be a nasty mess inside the faucet parts. He only charged me for the service call, performed the work well, cleaned the space afterwards, and was extremely friendly. He's someone who takes his work seriously, comes from a place of honesty, and is now my go-to guy for plumbing from now on.
