Cheryl M.UPDATE: Class action lawsuit started against them.
These guys installed my boiler, central air and mini splits a year ago. NOW they have new owners and you can't even get in touch with them. They DO NOT answer the phone and instead have an automated system that asks you to leave a message with a FULL MAILBOX. I write to their company email every day with NO response. I had them start plumbing work in my basement a year ago and it is NOT FINISHED to date. I am scared now that if something happens to my existing system that I can not get it fixed. DO NOT USE THEM. I am now stuck and will be taking legal action.
We gave Sheerkahn a $4800 deposit to replace an air conditioning unit. No services were ever performed and no one is picking up the phone. They engaged in breach of contract and we are out $4800. They will be criminally investigated.
$6,000 for a new central air system in Dec. 2021. Six months later, system doesn't work, and Sheerkahn will not return any phone calls.
I have used this service on a few occasions - to replace a hot water heater, install a sump pump, and fix a spigot in my back yard. They did an OK job. I noticed that every time they came to fix one thing they noticed multiple other issues that ended up costing thousands of dollars but I got the work done. When I had a leak in my ceiling from my upstairs bathroom I called them again. They had to come several times to fix it but it's better now. However they rescheduled three times; once because they told us that their system was down so they couldn't schedule any work and two other times because they had more important jobs to do. When I finally got scheduled the plumber told me they didn't come because some of their employees in the field were COVID positive and they didn't tell their customers but he ""shouldn't be telling"" me this. The person who scheduled the job (receptionist?) was also quite rude. I asked them to caulk my tub when they fixed the leak and noticed that the caulk was lumpy and cracked. When I asked the plumber about whether he scraped out the old caulk before laying down the new stuff he said no because it was ""really hard"" to do. Really hard??! Of course after a few weeks it started to crack and separate. I bought a $9 caulk scraper and removed all the old caulk in about 15 minutes, revealing black mold underneath. This company is a total scam and I will never use them again - they are rude, overpriced, charge hidden fees, and endanger the well being of their customers by not reporting positive Covid tests. Stay far away!
January, 2021- I had a new boiler, water softener and water heater installed. No issues there. September 2021, after the storm, my sump pump wasn't working properly so I called Sheerkhan. Someone came within 3 hours and told me I needed a new sump pump and the cost was $735! I asked what brand of pump and was told the brand and looked it up online. The pump itself cost $275 and the install was over $500. Ridiculous. I purchased the sump pump and had a handyman put it in. Fast forward to January 2022- The hot water heater (installed one year earlier) was not keeping the pilot light. I texted Joe Friday afternoon and got no response. My husband called the number on the boiler and hot water heater and got no response. We had to pay for someone to come in and diagnose the problem. The tank is leaking and I need a new tank. The brand of water heater is Rheem, which cost $575, the cheapest, and I'm willing to bet the labor to put that in was probably over $1,000. The plumber who came said he never purchases Rheem water heaters, and I can see why. Always ask questions as to what manufacturer the part or unit is coming from. I suggest you buying the part yourself, and deciding if the cost of labor is worth it. If not, I suggest finding a local handyman to replace your unit or part. And by the way- Still no response from Joe or the company. We spent 13k on all the work done last year.
Beware hidden fees. I posted that I had no heat on FB. Company reached out to me directly stating they could help. Gave them a chance. $100 Service call. Tech attempts to troubleshoot for an hour before replacing the part that the owner said was the problem initially. Owner after the fact calls tech and says he is taking too long and then decides to charge me $190 per hour to troubleshoot. Not once was it ever mentioned to me that there would be a troubleshooting fee (they charged me AFTER the fact). Tech then changes the part ($255 labor) which did not resolve the issue. Owner then rushes tech to leave for a ""bigger"" job. $550+ later tech left and I still have no heat. Tech was a nice guy. But poor customer service from management/owner. Would not recommend.
I was hooked up with them through Porch/Home Advisor for a problem I was having with a low water flow in a bathroom faucet. Victor came who was nice enough and tried to solve the problem. Several times he had to leave to go back to his truck to talk to his boss. Instead of just trying to replace the under sink supply line that may have been clogged he proceeded to tell me that he had to replace the under sink supply line and turn off valve and give me an entire new sink fixture to the tune of $500 plus. Still no guarantee that this would even solve the problem. To be fair Victor did check my water pressure which was on the low side. Other sinks in the house water flow was better than the sink I called about. Home advisor struck out on this referral.
Ida E.On May 20 I called home advisor which put me into contact with Sheerkahn Services for a clogged sewer drain. Thomas Depoala came without the necessary equipment he needed. He rented a snake for $68 to unclear the clog and charged me $568.84. Two days later I have the same back up sewage problem. I called and the operation manager called me to tell me he can't come back out until Monday so I had to rent the snake myself from Home Depot for $68 and clear it myself. Sheerkahn services is incompetent at best! They definitely have the right name.. a sheer con! Save your money and DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!
