Sheehy was recommended to me about 18 months ago. The guy came out, said my new sink faucet was the wrong size and that the pipes were clogged. He told me about A-1 Rooter, who were able to send someone within the hour (very good!!), and when my new kitchen faucet arrived, the guy came out and completed the installation (plus a glass washer). Quick, clean, RELIABLE. I wasn't charged for the first trip, paid a hundred dollars less than I expected the second trip to cost, so Sheehy gets my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! I should have left this review over a year ago, and may have, but I forgot the name. I retrieved it from a former little league coach friend who had coached with Sheehy years back.

I cant say enough good about sheehy plumbing....I had a serious problem with my toilet where the bolts were snapped off that hold the toilet to the floor and the whole toilet moved....called and within hours Larry was out after he did a service call he was on ....he did the job in less then an hour... the big thing I can say about Sheehy plumbing that puts them ON TOP of the rest of ALL the plumbers in CT ....IS....they answer their phone when you call and you don't get an answering machine or just a no call.....and they return calls....when you call after hours..and have to use an answering machine...they even have an emergency number and Mike the owner picks up right away....I've called other plumbers and NONE answered me back...even when I called the plumber that originally put my toilet in.....he said he was to busy....nice huh...won't be doing business with that MIDDLEFIELD plumber again OH...and the price was very reasonable....no complaints....Larry is the service guy...ask for him....hes been in the business for years and knowledgeable ......Mike is the owner and very respectable guy.....Thank you Sheehy Plumbing

The water pressure regulator in the basement failed after many years, so I called Sheehey Plumbing, and the woman scheduled me for early this morning.
The gentleman showed up on time, and took a look at what I had for a regulator, and said he'd be back shortly from the supply house.
He worked quickly and got it changed in less than 1/2 hour.
Quick, efficient, friendly, and most of all reasonably priced.
Can't ask for more.

Called this gem of a company, after finding out I had faulty valves(as directed by my oil company) on my oil furnace in a rental property. Their tech arrives and we accessed the problems together and I leave when I arrive back at the house to sign the invoice and my tenants telling me multiple electrical plugs just blew in the house including the thermostat (nest) was fried. I go see the tech and the whole basement smells like burnt plastic smoke he pretended like he didn't smell and would not acknowledge what happened, turned out he changed a valve right above the hydrastat without properly covering it and soaked it with water, which then fried every electrical component on my furnace and blew some plugs on the same switch. The owners response was basically I can't prove anything..$2000 later i still cant prove anything...0 competence

Great work and you can always take the owners word on things which is hard to find , I would recommend sheehy plumbing to anyone

Our old hot water heater started leaking, and we needed a new one quickly. We called Sheehy Plumbing. They came in and replaced the old unit with a new one. The plumber asked me if it was OK if he made the connections to the new water heater using PEX (flexible, plastic pipe). Not knowing what to say, I said OK, but after he left, I looked it up and found that some plumbing codes don't allow it. So I called the town of Wallingford to ask the building inspector, and they told me that first of all, the town requires a permit to replace a water heater. I called Sheehy and let them know that they needed to pull a permit. They said they didn't know it was required, even though their office is located in Wallingford. After Sheehy had pulled a permit, the inspector came out, looked at the work, and decided (after some discussion with his co-workers) that it didn't meet the code. I called Sheehy to let them know. When they came back out, the plumber replaced the PEX with copper and made the connections to the existing PVC water lines. After he was done, but before he left, a glued PVC fitting came apart under normal water pressure. Lots of water on the basement floor. He cleaned up the water, reconnected the fitting, and left, saying that it ""should be fine"".

When I got home, the PVC connections in the area where it had come apart just didn't look right to me, so after a couple of days, I called Sheehy back again and spoke with the owner, Mike. I did my best to explain my concerns. Mike told me that he knew the codes, that he was ""miffed"", and that he had done enough ""to accommodate me"". Personally, I don't consider a job being done correctly in exchange for $1,500 (which I had promptly paid) to be an ""accommodation"". I also don't appreciate a contractor who has problems with local ordinances and takes out his frustrations on his customers.

So I ate the cost of finding a competent plumber with at least some rudimentary people skills to come out and re-do the PVC connections. Steve Saleski with Blue Frog Plumbing did a great job, and I would highly recommend them.
