Andrew Shalin is probably the least professional person I have ever dealt with. I've called on them twice:

The first time, they experience was fine. My heat broke and he fixed and did general tune up in the quoted price. I did not price shop as it was the middle of the winter and I wasn't able to get ahold of anyone else before he could show up. It did bug me a bit that he tried to sell me on additional work while he was in the basement, but whatever.

The second time my water heater started leaking. I called two services at the same time and Andrew got back to me first. This experience was basically a disaster:

1) He did not mention the possibility that the water heater might still be under warranty (which it was) before declaring that it needed to be replaced. This was the first thing the second plumber I talked to said.

2) When I told him that I was going to go with the other guys because they quoted a better price, and they were the ones to suggest looking at the warranty, he blew up at me and hung up.

3) He proceeded to email me - exact words were:
""Good luck getting a new one you stupid homo I said I can do it for you...""

4) I was not at my computer when he emailed this to me, but he called me shortly afterwards to try to talk me into it. Sadly he succeeded by badmouthing the competitor but offering to replace a few extra parts for free and match the second price.

5) When I got back to my computer I saw the email and called him to explain himself about this incredibly rude email. He did not call me back but emailed me again - exact words:
""Look man if you gonna be a beach about if than go f yourself. Good luck getting if done for ***"" (*'ed out the price)

The lack of class here blew me away, evidenced by the fact that this is my first and only review currently as I usually do not feel so strongly about services. Please do not support Shalin Plumbing - they might do a good job and they will call you back quickly, but if you want to work with someone with an ounce of respect for you I would look elsewhere.

First of all, whomever, is deleting the last e-mails for Shalin Plumbing is not very professional. There were two reviews here and some competitor is probably removing them so cut it off!

I had Shalin Plumbing help me install a water boiler and he saved my Christmas last year since the system was leaking. It was going to explode and cause a flood in the basement. The plumber saved my
holidays and I was able to have hot water in the same day!
He also sucessfully installed some piping to get my washer hooked up to the water line and made a hole for the dryer vent. I have had this for one year now and everything is working in great condition. He was very thorough in checking that there were no leaks and cleaned up nicely after he was done installing everything. He also installed a new shower head that was one of the best and gave me a very reasonable price. I'd pay more for quality because you know it's true when people say you get what you pay For! He was awesome!
