Nothing bad to say on this end. Employees are hard working and don't leave until the problem is resolved. Called about a no heat call and they were there before I knew it. John and Ryan both know exactly what they are doing. Very impressed

SG Harold plumbing and heating is a phenomenal company. Their prices are competitive, their work is excellent, their staff are polite and professional. I highly recommend them.

Used SG Harold for years. They helped me out in an emergency and stuck with them, even though ALWAYS had issues with scheduling. For example, last September, I was scheduled for a certain day. Steve assured me he would call me and let me know when plumber was coming. I was heading out when my doorbell rang and it was plumber. Two minutes later I would have missed him. Anyway, I always paid my bills immediately and considered myself a good customer. Plumber looked at downstairs toilet (in September) and told me what size, type, to get. I kept Steve apprised of what I expected to do, even asking him if he could get me a corner toilet, but his answer to that was to ""go online"". I thought that's what plumbing companies did??? Bottom line, I ordered one from Home Depot, called Steve a week before it was delivered there, asked if he could pick it up the following Thursday and install it (they did pick up my vanity when I got it in September) and Steve's answer was to call him when it was there. Well, because I knew his scheduling was always off, I had my son pick up the toilet the day before Mother's Day. I called Steve and said the toilet was in my house. When can he schedule me? He told me to email him when I was going to be aavailable. I did. I called him the next day. Said he would call me by end of business. He did NOT. I called him the next day. No return call, no return email. I called him Thursday, a lady answered and assured me Steve would get right back to me. He didn't. I called and talked to Steve. He said he would call me by end of business IF someone could be out at 9 the next morning. No call. I sent him an email at 10:30 am and said PLEASE let me know when someone can come here. Or please give me Jason's number (a plumber who worked at my house numerous times, but apparently left SG Harold) which Steve had told me. I went out and was not back until 3 pm. I do NOT check my emails when I'm out. When I came back he had sent an email at 11 am that someone would be at my house at NOON! I explained to him that week, that I had to move stuff in the downstairs hallway and take everything out of the bathroom. He said he understands that! But apparently, he didn't understand it, assuming that I would be home waiting for him to give me one hour notice. I proceed to send him an email explaining this, that I always pay him immediately and could you help out a loyal customer by giving me Jason's number. That Monday, I called him. He told me to get another plumber, and he couldn't give me a reference, and that he was through with me!!!! Nice way for the owner of a company to treat a long time customer. So now I have a toilet sitting in my living room, an small issue with the drain in the vanity upstairs that SG Harold installed and I have no one. I know this is a long review, but want people to know how aggravating it was dealing with him. On top of that, THE most unpleasant person I ever spoke to!!!!!! PS. The guy who has been doing my yard for years is busy and broke his thumb. I asked if I should call the guy I had previous to him. He said, HE WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF I DID! THAT is how good businessmen should work!

Unreliable, as in other reviews. Owner said he'd send ""his man"" over next day. No show, no call. Called again, owner said he didn't know why no show. To me that says a lot about him not staying on top of his business. He promised to send ""his man"" over the next day. No show again, no call again. Called to tell him that I wasn't going to use him. His response, ""ok"". No I'm sorry. Stay away. Call Boston Standard.

Stood me up twice for the initial visit before John came out to look my water heater. The first time they just never wrote down the appointment they gave me, the second time they called about an hour late and said they had another job to do.

John's expertise is good and he spent a good long time inspecting and explaining the heater to me and what we was planning to do. When he left, he said they would call me to set up an appointment to do the work in the coming week.

I never heard from them. I called and left messages several times and have never heard back. There's no way I would work with them now after all the time I've wasted on them. If I could hire John individually, I would.

This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. Where to begin? We had a very minor problem with a toilet. My father in law was visiting and randomly picked these guys out of the paper. First off, their plumber was well over an hour late and when we called to ask, the owner, who is a complete and utter nightmare, he literally snapped ""he's coming"" and hung up in my wifes face. We had to take time off work for this. That was just the start.

Not only did the plumber not fix our problem but he created a new one, now our shower leaks water. He also managed to sell us a part we didn't need. Our next plumber told us that he has a terrible reputation in the south shore area.

So now we don't have the problem solved and then we get a bill for 800 bucks. We called repeatedly to ask him to return to at least fix the shower problem that his plumber had created and he kept putting us off. We refused to pay this bill until he fixed that problem, which by the way, his plumber did concede to us that he had caused and said it was just one of those ""things""

Well, now this guy is not only not fixing his problem(we paid another plumber 300 dollars to fix the problem he caused) but without warning he filed court papers for his ridiculous 800 dollars.

Seriously, read all the reviews of this guy. He is horrendous. We could tell that his employee who was here was terrified of him also. DO NOT USE SG HAROLD PLUMBERS. They are unqualified and unprofessional at a level I've never encountered.

I am really sad to have to give them one star. We found their name on the Bosch website so we thought they'd be great...and they were for our first few problems. Recently though, we had a problem and John came out to fix it (btw we love him, he's great!) . He had a tough time fixing it and the next time they sent someone else who replaced a part, which we found out later was uneeded and put in incorrectly, which did not fix the problem. Someone came out again and still it was not fixed. When we called to ask them to come back and fix it no one returned our calls... and we made at least 3 of them! However, we did get a bill last week...they didn't forget to send that! It cost us $500....and in the end my husband fixed it!

Wow what a markup on materails!! I called them to diagnose and repair two boilers at my residential home (one steam and one gas). I called several plumbers for service. They were one of the only plumbers to reply to my phone calls. Their labor rate of 95 per hour was slightly less than what I had been paying my last plumber (who I were decent but thought I would try to save a few bucks on labor by going with these guys). They charged $300 for a $200 gas valve and 100% markup on Power Pile Gen and Thermocouple. All in they markedup their materials over 50% on average. Higher them for there responsiveness and quality service for residential customers, don't expect them to be inexpensive.

In the future I will make it clear that I will pay them hourly and have them run to the local plumbing supply store and provide receipts for all parts.

I found SG Harold's on the Bosch website this morning after my hot water heater broke. Chris called me back within an hour and, to my surprise, showed up just 1/2 hour later. I say ""to my surprise"" because I'm so used to waiting around for plumbers, cable guys etc. for hours and hours without a beep from the company. But this guy showed up when he said he would, was very polite and... not only fixed the problem very quickly but also helped me get rid of a rattling noise from my AC unit. He honestly made my day. Great experience!

Amazing service at less than half what we were quoted by HUB and Standard on Savin Hill Ave. HUB had been out twice before and charged us a rediculous amount of money & didn't even properly diagnose the problem. All of the other Plumbers we spoke with wanted to do more ""exploratory demo"" on the bathroom side of our plumbing stack. Instead, the Owner Steve came by & had Chris remove the dishwasher & kitchen wall cabinet to diagnose and repair the problem. They replaced a huge section of a cracked plumbing stack without so much as a scrape on the wall, and did it in less than a day! They came highly recommended to me by a friend that owns a successful restaurant and nightclub in town. Ask for Chris!
