We were in the due diligence period of buying a house with a septic tank. We called Michael Penta because of his great ratings on Yelp. We asked for the price to inspect the tank and were quoted between $275 and $500 depending on what level of work needed to be done. We agreed to the charge, signed the appropriate paperwork and scheduled the appointment. They were able to give us an appointment within a few days which was appreciated since we were on a timeline crunch. Sadly, the workers arrived and could not locate the septic tank. They climbed up on the tile roof (without permission which would not have been granted due to the delicate nature of tile roofs) to try to locate the tank via the vent. No luck. They claimed that they went through some clean outs to help locate it but when we hired someone else to locate it, found all the cleanouts frozen shut. This left us to wonder which one they could have opened. They said they needed to put a $700 clean out in in order to find it and service it properly. This is confusing to me, and I own my ignorance of septic tank systems, but wonder how they put a clean out onto a septic tank they can't seem to find. We declined this suggestion since we didn't own the property yet and that seems like the kind of money you'd spend on something you already own. A few days later we were shocked to find a $275 charge on the credit card. We knew there would be some sort of show up fee but the low end price of having actually DONE SOMETHING? We called to discuss our disappointment in the high charge and were met with a defensive girl answering the phone who seemed a bit put out but agreed to ask the owner about a partial refund since no work was actually done. We managed to get some of it credited back ($100) when we told them we were buying the property and still needed it serviced and would not use their service if the charge remained at $275. I am unable to speak about the quality of work they perform. But I am able to feel disappointment in their charge, to the tune of $175 for a questionable amount of ""work"" done on site. If they had even offered to apply that exorbitant charge toward future work I may have been likely to use their service again. Now I don't really trust them as being an honest business. I might have even called on them again if they had dropped the charge to $125 or $150. We understood that the minimum charge for work performed was $275 and we agreed to that. I guess it's the definition of ""work"" that we don't see eye-to-eye on.

The staff is friendly, they're reliable, and fairly priced. I am a realtor and used Mike Penta for septic cleaning and inspection. I will definitely use them again.

I hired Michael Penta Plumbing during our escrow period on a house we were buying, to do an inspection on the septic tank. It was a messy situation with the seller, and Mike's office staff handled it with the best possible courtesy and patience possible. There was some work needed for certification. Mike gave me a competitive price for the repairs needed, and we negotiated with the seller, but then had to wait to finish the job. For almost 3 weeks they had to wait to get back in there, with the job half finished. That is not easy on a contractor, to mobilize and then get stopped. They finally were able to get back in there and finish the job. I will admit there were a few miscommunications, and with all the rain, the new riser to the septic tank started sinking in. Some people might give a lower rating for stuff like that, but stuff happens with any contractor. What is important to me is how it was handled. Mike Penta is a very honest and likable guy, and he came back right away to fix the riser. He made good on his promises, and even offered me an additional service because of the miscommunication we had, which I appreciate. He is committed to customer service and making sure you are satisfied, and that is most important of all. Now I feel like I have a trusted sewer/plumber/septic contractor to call if anything ever goes wrong.

The best! If you have issues with your septic tank this is the company to call. No one I have dealt with in regard to my septic tank has been as knowledgable as Micheal and the crew he sent to do the work were extremely professional, as were the staff I dealt with in the office. Not only that his prices are excellent. Thank you.

Hands down the best, most professional Plumber service I have dealt with. Have referred them to numerous people! Don't deal with others who throw u off number, they are honest and do an exceptional job!

Great experience. We had issues with septic tank and sump pumps which were solved in a timely manner at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this plumbing service and we loved Karl, their technician!

I needed a septic certification to sell my house. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Excellent customer service! After the excavations were complete, the area was left perfectly clean.

There are not enough superlatives to describe how wonderful this company is - from prompt responses to expert workmanship to incredible customer service I would not hesitate to use them again for all my plumbing needs. I HIGHLY recommend them!

Mike Penta is the best plumber around, but he's an even better human being. Dude is honest, and he always makes everything so much better. There really aren't enough stars on this thing.

Micheal's service was amazing. As a real estate professional we needed an inspection in a short period of time. Not only did they come out and inspect the septic tank. They replaced it in no time. I would recommend them for all your plumbing and septic work. Nicole is amazing to work with! She calls you back with an update daily.
