Chris with sewer-oscopy was on time and very friendly. He inspected the sewer of my home, and explained everything and was very thorough while answering my questions. He took his time and really made sure to make sure everything was operating properly. I would highly recommend Chris for general maintenance or cleaning!

Where to even begin...

We used sewer-oscopy for our sewer inspection before purchasing our home. They scoped the main line of our house. They recommended jetting the line for roots where the clay line meets the cast iron, but overall they said the lines were in good condition. The previous owner had the line jetted and that was that.

Fast forward a few weeks to move in. We moved in on a Friday afternoon. Sunday night our finished basement flooded due to our sewer backing up. Tons of damage, all flooring ruined, baseboards and drywall ruined, and then there was the plumbing...
Due to the insane amount of damage I had 5 plumbers come over to give me estimates. We were quoted 20k worth of work because by all plumbers because all of our cast iron pipes were bad. THIS WAS NEVER MENTIONED IN OUR INSPECTION. If it had been we wouldn't have purchased this home.

Needless to say I will never use sewer oscopy again and I'll tell everyone I know about this horrible experience. Stay away. Far away!!!

I would give a 0 star review if i could! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Used this company for my sewer inspection on a house I was buying. They said everything was good. Not even a month after being in the house my sewer drain in the basement was backing up and I had a huge mess. I called a local company to come out. The plumber that came out told me that the blockage has been there for months because of how hard it was. it took him 3 hours to get his camera and tools through the blockage. There is no way this company did the inspection correctly. Someone from the company texted me after my complaint to my realtor and told me they didn't inspect that pipe. The pipe is my main sewer line that the toilets drain too. He just stopped responding to my texts and never resolved anything.

I recently purchased an older home in Edwardsville that had been remodeled. Since the house was older (even though it had been flipped) I wanted to do my due diligence and get the entire range of inspections done; home, sewer, and radon. I went with Madewell Inspections who utilizes Sewer-Oscopy for their sewer inspections because I had a really great experience with Madewell on my first home.

Unfortunately I was not so lucky this time. I have only been at the home around four weeks when I was told one of my sewer lines is collapsed and an 8 foot section would need to be replaced. Even more unfortunately, this section was UNDER the basement floor/foundation so that included excavation as well as replacement and cement refill.

Upon reviewing my inspection, it doesn't look like Sewer-Oscopy actually touched the problem line, at all, and that they only inspected ONE of the lines in the basement. To best explain, there are two lines in my basement, we'll call A and B. Line A is sink and laundry and line B is bathrooms. Line A runs along the side of the home and was the line that appears to have been inspected while line B is the collapsed line that runs to the wall, then meets at a Y with line A and they both run out to the main.

When asked about the situation, Sewer-Oscopy stated that line A discharged into B and that when they inspected, water was flowing freely. Unfortunately, that is incorrect and line A does not flow into B and it is presumed Sewer-Oscopy only actually inspected A and not B, at all. All in all they said ""they are only responsible for what they see the day of inspection"" which, I fully understand, but the problem is they didn't see everything to begin with. I don't believe it was malicious or intentional or anything like that, I think it was just a mistake that they didn't want to take ownership of.

I am not one to write negative reviews and, in fact, you can even look at my Yelp history as I can almost always find something positive to say. I really wish I had a different experience and I genuinely do not want anyone else to have to go through the tears/headache/drama of all of this.

Chris was very professional, on-time, and very efficient. He walked me through his process and on the video he made for me, talked out every single step of the way. Aside from that, you can just tell he was good people. I highly recommend this company.

Chris was great to work with. I needed to get some insight into my drain downspouts, and he was willing to come out and camera all of them to help me determine which were blocked and which were not. He was patient with the process, but at the same time very quick and proficient with his work, helping identify where blockages existed, and where the scope was able to penetrate go. He also supplied videos and snapshots of the work, and I'd certainly use his services again if needed.
