I knew I was in trouble when the technician got out with a 3-ring binder giving a sales pitch and pricing for different levels of diagnostics starting at $299. Within 20 minutes he was up to $1700 in repairs and was not even 1/3 through his diagnostic checklist on a 7 yr old furnace. He said in order to finish the diagnostic checklist, he needed to replace the circuit board for $800+. At that point, I asked him to wrap it up and give me the invoice. That came to $355, which I refused to pay for the full amount as he did not finish the complete diagnostic due to the fact, I would not pay $800 for a circuit board. His manager and I agreed on a amount of $200 for his one hour of time and trip charge of $79. I called out a different local company and the technician had my furnace running within 20 minutes, checked a few other items, tested the carbonmonoxide output and charged me $120. Shame on this company for taking advantage of people. I am sure they get many people who pay those ridiculous charges because they are desperate to get it fixed and do not know any better. One last item, the gal who I spoke with on the phone stated ""we have a 11am available. I said , great, I will take it. She than proceeds to state, ok, we have 2 prices. One price the arrival window is 11 - 1 pm for $99 or 11 - 3 for $79 , I thought this was odd, as, she just told me we have a 11am opening , I said 11-3 for $79 is fine. He was there at 11. This company has thought of all kinds of ways to increase their revenue starting with the person who schedules the appointment. I am still angry the next day when I think about this !

Ridiculous $80 trip charge + $520 diagnostic fee. You'll probably end up with an option for 10k for repair afterwards. Do yourself a favor and find another company.

We hired Boys Electric to pull an electrical permit and complete the outside fixture electrical work for a siding project we were contracted to complete. Not only did they never pull the permit, but they ""lost"" our appointment and were only able to offer us a reschedule a week and a half out! Furthermore, when they finally did show up to the property to complete the work, they took a look and decided that the work had already been done and NEVER contacted me to let me know. The home owner ended up having to complete their own electrical work and we had to get them to pull their own permit. Lost appointments and lack of communication are standard for this company.

Beware of high pressure sales and scare tactics!!!

Over Thanksgiving weekend, we noticed there was cold and hot air coming from the vents while the heat was on. We called and scheduled an appointment for that Monday.

David called ahead and showed up just after 8:30a. About 40mins into the appointment, the main office left a voicemail on my phone letting me know that no one was available for my scheduled appointment and they would have to reschedule. This was concerning--at the very least, the miscommunication was unprofessional.

David was checking the furnace and taking things apart, when he took a break to ""explain more about who they were."" He proceeded to show me a list of awards and ratings the company has supposedly received. Once he showed me that, he hurried through a form which needed my signature--that stated we would pay (not $79 as we had been told, but) $355 for this appointment. That would cover a ""Level 1 or Level 2 repair,"" however there was no telling yet what the upcoming repairs may be. As he hurried me through and had me sign (I would never do this again...now I know better), he promptly announced that we had a bad thermostat (not covered), and that he would now be sure nothing was damaged due to the heat and cold air running at the same time.

What do you know, he stated next that he found a crack in our heat exchange--which he was sure to tell me could ""only be seen using his ""high tech, $6,000 camera."" David proceeded to tell me that these cracks were large enough to be leaking deadly gasses that most likely would cause us to not wake up in the morning. David assured me he would look into everything near our furnace while he was there. And he began pressing me to schedule a sales appointment for a new furnace--a 90min appointment that my husband and I both had to be present for. He said doing any repairs to a furnace as old as ours was a waste of money. His quote to fix were around $4000 and $6000.

While we pressed for the cost of a new furnace, David could not answer that question. As he listed a number of items he red flagged on his report, he turned off and red-tagged our furnace, and we had a scheduled visit from another tech that same evening. David told us our duct work was out of code and needed to all be re-run. He said our hard-wired humidifier was broken and the tubing was not secure--as he said it, he pulled it off. I had never seen this tubing come apart so easily before. We were left with a laundry list of ""unsafe"" issues to deal with, an earful of scare tactics, and high pressure sales tactics. We were less than impressed and quite upset.

I called and canceled the evening appointment, and my husband and I began talking about options of a second opinion.

The next day, David called and left a long voicemail on my phone, reporting that he HAD LEFT A TOOL LODGED INSIDE OUR FURNACE. HE SAID HE WOULD LIKE TO COME GET IT OUT, ""WITH NO CHARGE"" TO US, OF COURSE.

I called the main number to report this and to report the scam we felt we were being pulled through. The high pressure sales and scare tactics were too much!! I was talked in circles over and over. I want my $355 back. This is terrible!

We had a second opinion and there are no cracks in our heat exchange. Our duct work is all up to code, and the second company fixed one bad wire causing the humidifier to not work properly. Our second opinion costed $80--and they cross checked EVERYTHING we were charged $355 for by Air Tech.

I reported this back to Chris at Air Tech--the customer service rep. and he continued to push to have his people back out to our home to check his tech's work. I would not let any of these people back into our home. He would not address the fact that David left a tool lodged in our furnace. They have refused to refund our money.

Do not be fooled.

This is the worst company I have dealt with. They came out for a service check and told my wife of the thousands of dollars she should spend to have all kinds of unnecessary repairs. When she declined they told her they could not guarantee the work we originally called them to do. SCAMMERS! Call anyone but these guys.

Rip-off. Called to have them trouble shoot a noisy dimmer, they offered three options, 5k, 11k & 19k, saying the whole house needed to be re-wired or the whole house ""might burn down"". 100 year old house, lots of wood, they knew how to build fear. When I said I would contact them after getting another estimate, the young guy wouldn't leave until his ""supervisor"" came out. After waiting for the ""supervisor"" (seemed more like a ""closer"" on a used-car lot) arrived, he offered that they would leave if we committed to at least the 5k bid, presumably to keep the house from burning down that night. We signed so they would leave. I did call a local electrical company, who bid $1,200 to fix everything, no ""tiered options"", just an estimate to do the job, you know, like electricians would give you. Contacted Boy's, they said we had signed the contract and that was that. So here I am on Yelp.

I had them out in Sept to do a tune up on my boiler. The tech that came out said that they were unable to do the tune up do to some updated needed on my boiler. He gave me a list of the things that needed to be done and and headed out. Now I am a single mom and don't have much time to deal with my boiler. So I didn't get a second opinion. He said for $1200 which was the discounted price that they would fix everything and it would be good for the winter. I decided that it sounded a bit high but I needed it done.
They came out the tech was very nice and it looked as if everything was done correctly. I got my bill, which was not detailed as I had asked. I did call 7 times to try and get a breakdown for my bill and was never called back. Their serves were guaranteed though so I though perhaps I was good. A couple weeks later I heard air in my line so called them back. The same tech came out and fixed it no charge.
Then when it started to get chilly a week or so later, i hear the air in my lines again. I was going to call when my whole system went down. I did call since it was guaranteed. The new tech that came out was in my basement for about 5 hours trying to figure out what was going on. He had put in calls to 5 different techs about the problem. They all said it was the same thing, the relay. He did not have the correct relay and cut the wires to my transformer/relay and tried to rig another relay instead of getting the correct one. He then told me i needed a new relay and main board. He told me the cost would be around $800, this was with my discount since i had signed up for the comfort club. I said no, because I knew the parts hardly cost $100.
I ordered the parts myself and went to fix it with the help of my neighbor who was an electrician. Only then did i find what a mess my boiler was left in. He had cut the wires to my relay to jimmy rig them to a relay that didn't fit. I know he was trying to help but had made it worse. I then had to find a new transformer/relay another $80. I called to see if they would fix that part and asked what they were charging $800 for since I knew the parts cost and time. I was told i was paying for their employees drug testing, background checks, education and a various other things. They said they do not separate parts/labor and go on a national average for pricing. And that I was paying for the knowledge of the 5 guys that this tech had called when he couldn't figure out what the problem was with my boiler.
I then installed all my parts myself, with the help of my electrician neighbor. It took me a total time of an hour and a half install. After my new parts were in my boiler still would not work. So my neighbor checked the thermostat! It was a $24 thermostat, not all the new parts i had just put into my boiler that was making it not work. So none of it needed to be done if the thermostat would have been checked! My neighbor also load tested my old relay/transformer to see if it was really that and it wasn't, it tested out just fine. I could not use it due to all the wires being cut though.
The company then had the nerve to call me 3 days later after I had fixed my own boiler and told me they could get me a ""hard date"" to come fix my boiler. I told them i fixed it myself and what the culprit really was. I had told them to cancel my comfort club membership, which even though i canceled it. I was still billed for it!!! Never again. Nice techs and all but you need to know what you are working on.
I called another company which told me the $800 fix would only be about $275 since i had the parts. I also told them what was done the first time and the price, which i was told i was overcharged.
As a single mom that watches every penny, I would not use this company ever again.

I found this company on a home improvement web site. Paul came to my home. He did a diagnostic test on what I needed done, repaired the circuit breaker for the stove/range, fixed the kitchen ceiling fan, and tightened an outlet in the dining area. He gave me several options for more work, and I will think those over, probably doing some of them after other things in my life settle down. I was very pleased with Paul, his efficiency, professionalism, and courtesy. I highly recommend this company. Whatever is paid for this type of work is worth it so that it's done right.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE A COMPLETE JOKE OF A COMPANY. They charged $590 dollars to diagnose and do one repair. They did not even do the one repair. I ended up doing the repair myself by going to my local hardware store then replacing a plug in outlet. The first price they offered was $15,000 to 'redevice' our entire house then $900 to repair the outlet. Our regular electrician who was busy that day said he would have charged less then $200.

Please beware of using this company. We had them come out to provide after hour service on Good Friday due to us coming home to a burning smell in our house that appeared to be coming from a outlet. The technician, David G, was prompt and friendly, I would say overly friendly. After many hours at our house and continued tries to sell us on more services he was unable to find anything causing the problem. He then continued to find other things wrong that he could quote us for, that we're within code but not best practice now but we're the way things were done in 1990's when our house was built. We agreed he could change out a fault breaker in our electrical box, however, he did not have the right one in his truck so he placed a smaller one in and said he would be back either Saturday or Monday to switch it out. He never came back and never called to set up a return appointment. I have called several times to the office and spoke to a Marian O, who told me she could see the call however it was completed and closed out. She informed me that she would contact David, but he was at a customer call and would have to call me back. 6 days have gone by with no call. Other attempts in trying to call them I get forwarded to a call service who will give them the message to call me back. To date I do not get a return call from David, or his supervisor. I have paid for the work and they are not doing what they promised. I am not an expert in electrical work and I have placed my faith in their company and am very embarrassed that I was taken and overcharged for my call with the work incomplete.

Please beware.....

I finally got a call from a supervisor and she was GREAT on the phone. She called and listened to our story, she apologized and took full responsibility. She said this is not how we like to do business or quality of service. Together we came up with a compromise plan: next day a new technician came out, he completed the work, and we received half our money back. I did have to request the money back and she offered to pay back only for the part, but I told her it was your service that was not quality and the delay in finishing the work, I asked for 50% of the bill back and she agreed. I appreciated that she recognized our experience and poor service by taking responsibility, however, it should not have been this hard to get a hold of them or a supervisor to work this out.
