Joy Q.Service plumbing dug a trench for us to enable city water hook-up. They did the job on-time with fast, friendly service. They were careful to not damage our lawn with the equipment or moving of dirt. We were extremely pleased with the job!
DO NOT USE SERVICE PLUMBING OUT OF CROWN POINT!! This is My ANGIE'S LIST REVIEW & 2 reviews before mine that seem to share the same feelings.Just want to make sure nobody else goes thru what I just went thru.Terry Dalkos , owner of Service Plumbing, u owe me $1000 deductible for the claim I just had to file..This could have been avoided if u would have returned one of my 4 phone calls to both of ur phone numbers. We work hard for our $$.. Don't let people like this get away with this crap!

Description Of Work: Service Plumbing came out to install a sump pump. They talked me into upgrading to install a Zoeller sump pump, Aquanot backup pump & an Aquanot gel backup battery. I was told that this would upgrade the 1 year warranty to a 3 yr warranty.
On Monday night my basement flooded and the main pump couldn't keep up. The battery backup alarm never went off and the backup pump froze. I am now looking at $6200.00 in damages and I have a restoration company out every day working on the damages. I have called Service Plumbing 4 times now & they are still not returning my calls.

Description Of Work: Drained basement from a backup problem. Then added another drain to the city sewage line.
Well at first I thought everything was fine. Later I found out that a previous hookup was buy passed but left and open. They didn't even cap it off. Leaving this open well now allows dirt and debris into the system! Before this was found I asked if they would be interested in bringing the drainage system in my basement up to code. They took the job and left a large mound of concrete on the basement floor instead of leveling it to the same level of the basement floor. They also said that the job of replacing the water heater and reconnect the sink in the kitchenette. This job was to be paid by the insurance company. Terry said that would be fine. Two months have gone by and Terry will not take my calls or call me back! Now I have to find another plumbing service company. That fine Terry, just have the decency to reply too me or my insurance company so that I can move forward! How unprofessional can you be?

We contracted Terry and his company to replace our septic leach field. He probed our leach field to confirm it was under-sized for a charge of $500. He said the diagnostic was necessary to quote a new system. After $200 to drain the tank (at his request) and $500 to tell us that we did indeed need a new system (which we knew already), he stopped answering my calls. He didn't return my calls. Finally when I did get ahold of him he refused the job that he originally agreed to.
We called Terry out to quote us for a replacement of our septic leach field. He said to give an accurate quote he would need to do a $500 diagnostic inspection of our current system. This diagnostic charge was given with the false agreement that it would be applied towards future repairs. He told me I should remove a large tree in the area before he did work. This cost several hundred dollars. But I did it. He also had me contract a company to empty the tank for $250. Terry's crew came out and confirmed my old system was under-sized by probing the laterals. We knew this already. He wrote a basic plan for a new field but could not give a price. He asked for 2 weeks to round up materials & give an accurate price. He said finding materials including fill wouldn't be a problem at all. We asked him to stay in touch & not leave us hanging. He assured us he would take care of us. 3 weeks went by with no contact. It took multiple calls from me to get ahold of him. I told him that I took out a loan for the job & wanted to make sure he still would do it or if I should go elsewhere. He said don't worry he was going on vaca & would jump on it after. He said don't get another contractor. 3 more weeks went by & I had to call him again. He still said no problem, he was waiting on a business partner to break ground on a job that would provide the fill needed. Waited another 3 wks with no call from him then I called but he didn't answer or return voice. Went on for over 2 wks before he answered. Said he couldn't get fill. Toldme to get it myself & then he would do the job. All along he had said he would handle this & had plenty of resources for mat'l &now he told me I had to handle it. He was annoyed with me. Hadn't yelled, argued or sworn at him becuz we were depending on him. But then he refused the job!
