Tech was at home 20 min. Unfamiliar with new thermostat installed. Complained that he didn't have a manual when all he had to do was scan the QR on the thermostat. Blamed the installation on my wiring and said the new unit was not compatible. I was a contractor for AHS as a Pool and Spa technician. I have installed entire heaters for AHS. Changed boards on pool automation and hot tubs. That I cannot change a thermostat is ridiculous. After the Tech I investigated the situation. Tech did not even notice that the 20 year old transformer was burned. When I made them aware they said because I failed to turn of the power. Working with 240 volts and they think I did not turn of the power. AHS refused a second opinion. Cancelling my service. AHS NEVER was a help in maintaining my appliances. But the fault falls on the low quality techs AHS chooses to hire. Tech to lazy to do the right thing and take the easy road out. Besides they get paid if they were there 5 minutes or an hours. More money in just turning a blind eye.

Where to begin? Asked the tech to go to my gate so I could open it and he proceeded to grab the top of my fence and yank on it almost breaking the latch. He then said it needed some new wiring to fix the HVAC unit and then just left my house. The tech then proceeded to lie to my insurance and claimed I had said I was tampering with my HVAC system and got my warranty denied. Absolutely terrible service from the tech.

Just had a gentleman from this company leave my house. I had an issue with a toilet and a garbage disposal. He was very personable and nice to work with and was able to resolve the issues I had. He came in less than 24 hours from when I reported the issue which I am very grateful for. I definitely would use them again.

If they show up at your house you might as well send them home or you will be wasting your time and hard-earned money. All the negative reviews are true. Their service is absolutely horrendous, just choose another contractor.

My A/C has been broken for the past 2 weeks (and is still broken). They were assigned to my property from my home warranty. They had someone take a look at it and they had to order a part to replace it. After 1 week I gave them a call for an update and they were unable to provide any information. 2 weeks had passed and I tried to give them a call. Their number was disconnected, my warranty company wasn't even able to get a hold of them. Next, my warranty notifies me that Tidewater Service Mechanical marked the service order completed even though nothing has been fixed to this day.

Highly recommend! I called this company because my AC was out. I had been strung along by another local company for 26 days. Elaine was extremely helpful. She asked all the right questions on the phone so that Brian, the HVAC tech was prepared to fix my system when he arrived! (new motor and control board) They were on time, extremely efficient, great customer service and offered helpful info on how to care for the system. This company truly cares about doing a great job for their customers.

Thank God for this company. They have saved me twice so far, last year 2020 and this year. I very much appreciate the repair on my AC both times. They were quick to respond and was in and out in less than 30 minutes both times. The same person came both times. He was very polite.

I would give zero stars if I could. This company has been assigned to me a few times by American Home Shield (AHS) Warranty. This marks the last time for them and AHS. The tech arrived at my home around 1pm for a leak and was unable to turn the main water valve back on to see where the leak was originating. After getting approval from AHS to replace the valve he told me to have NN Waterworks turn the water off from the street and call him when it was done. NN Waterworks turned the water off between 230p and 3p and we called the tech who did not answer his phone. We called the office and the woman in the office said the tech would not be coming back until Monday. Why would you tell someone to turn their water off on a Friday if you aren't able to come back until Monday. AHS was no help and although they reached out to Service Mechanical, I still haven't heard from them. I work in real estate and my network is expanding daily BUT I will NOT EVER refer Service Mechanical or American Home Shield and the 5 contracts that I currently have will be reassigned much more EXPEDITIOUSLY than the services that I received from them.

Unpleasant and Overpriced!

AHS assigned Service Mechanical to repair/replace my water heater and provide other minor plumber services (reseal sink pop-up, running toilet) for my out of state property I was selling. While the tech, Richie, was seemingly knowledgeable, the services they charged were a complete rip-off not to mention some unnecessary. Richie claimed my replacement water heater (that was under warranty) would be too big to fit through door and the door frame would need to come off (in fact, he incorrectly read the dimensions). Additionally, he wrote up the services as modifications (not covered by AHS) versus replacement parts/equipment (covered). Charges included $175 for an emergency drain pan, $150 for pipe mods, $85 for sink pop-ups among other exorbitant charges totaling in excess of $900 of non-covered costs ($1415 total).

After going back and forth between the AHS and an unpleasant female rep at Service Mechanical, we opted to cash out and go with another company. The licensed plumber we hired (through the buyer's agent) charged only $588 total (include $30 drain pan, $80 to replace water lines, $20 pop-up, etc.)... which after AHS cash out, my out-of-pocket expenses = $73 (savings of ~$830).

While AHS shares some blame in this, Service Mechanical was very unpleasant to deal with and extremely overpriced. Recommend customers look elsewhere for plumbing (and HVAC) services.

Would give 0 stars if I could.

They were scheduled to come repair our AC through our home warranty company. They came the next day and told us we needed a new part. Then, left us with no updates for over 2 weeks!! We had no AC in August for over 2 weeks! They rarely answer the phones!! The home warranty company sent out another contractor who had us back up and running with AC in 1 day. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
