Technician was not very personable at all. He was quite rude. Took two minutes to look at my furnace (did. Not. Open. It.) and claimed it was working fine. Two days later had to call him back out because it was still not working. Then he claimed the circuit board was fried and it needed a new draft motor. Reassured me parts would be in in two days. It has been three weeks. Company is not answering their phones and no one has contacted me to schedule the tech to come back out. Meanwhile, my family and I are freezing in our home during the holidays. Terrible experience and terrible customer service.
A service technician came out to fix our heat and was very rude. Was very rude when I opened the door and then during the service he had a very bad attitude. Unfortunately we had to go through this company because of our homeowners insurance. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
I had a water line to my hot water heater break Wednesday evening I called my home warranty AHS who said the work would be sent to Service Mechanical if Tidewater. Like many other I was skeptical but ended up surprisingly happy. I called SM around 8 and was told they'd call me back as I think I got their night time service. I was called back within 30 minutes or less and told that the mechanic would call back as to when he could be here. Within minutes Jose called and said he'd be at my residence within 30 minutes. Jose arrived around 9:30 am looked at the problem and immediately return to his truck for the parts. Within 20 minutes Jose had repaired the problem and the water was back on. Jose did a great job and was very professional. I was very happy with Service Mechanical of Tidewater and their Technician Jose.
I was referred to this company from my Home Warranty company. After the technician came out and troubleshoot the AC issue (spending less then 10 minutes there total), Said I needed to replace my Evap coil and recharge 8 pounds of Freon. 2 weeks goes by with no answer about part status, any update whatsoever, so I call in for a second opinion. A new company comes out, spends over a hour troubleshooting, and says the only issues are a pinpoint leak and recharge of Freon is needed. cost less than half of what this company wanted to charge me for items that didn't need replaced. the unit only took 2.5 pounds of Freon, as the max it can take is 5.4 pounds... not 8. I highly recommend not using this company for HVAC repairs. I cannot speak to the plumbing side of the house.
1-star because nothing less was available. Service Mechanical of Tidewater serviced my HVAC unit 3 times within a month and a half via American Home Shield. End result: More problems. Instead of contacting American Home Shield again, I simply prefer to pay out of pocket for a more reliable company than to wait to be ultimately disappointed a 4th time.
Krystal R.I would say their customer service is pretty spot on. This company was assigned to me from a home warranty company, and I was nervous to use them. We had a quest pipe bust and had to secure the water to our house. With a 5 year old at home, this became a nightmare. We were able to start water mitigation or repairs until the plumbing issue was fixed, so time was of the essence! This was the third company we were assigned, and the woman I spoke with on the phone the first time was kind and knowledgeable. The woman I spoke with the second time was a bit short, but still got me the answers I needed. The technician, Jose, kept me informed on when he would be arriving. He was later than his initial estimate, but I expected that as one can never know how much work you'll have to do at the jobs you're scheduled for that day. The important part was - he communicated with me and kept me in the know. He showed up around 4pm, which was impressive, I was worried he wouldn't show at all that late. He was in and out quickly, and even gave me some insight to the problem and what I could expect in the future. I would recommend this company to anyone who needed it, and I agree with a previous reviewer. If you give respect, you'll get respect. I was very grateful they came out so quickly, the entire process took less than 12 hours, when other companies quoted 4 days before they could even address the issue.
Terrible customer service, the technician does not have people skills, came home with an attitude, unwilling to listen. Came to the house to work with the AC unit, left and the unit still does not work. I am wondering who are the ""professional, knowledgeable, courteous technician"" that I read in other reviews, for sure not the one that went to my house, and I don't want to talk to their customer service...in other words...no customer service. Save your money, pay a little more and get a reputable service.
After two months of dealing with this company through a home warranty service, they finally had fixed my air conditioner. Their ""fix"" lasted two hours. Weeks and weeks of delays coupled with outright lies are too much. I would never ever recommend this company.
I read the reviews after AHS assigned this company to me as part of my home warranty claim and I was SCARED! I was like ""oh no, this is going to be bad"". I put my claim in around 9:00am on Wednesday and got a call from Brittany at 1:03pm to schedule my service. No attitude, you could tell she was young but she answered my questions and she let me know that someone would call me about an hour before the time of service on Friday. Yes, Friday. I was thinking it would take at least a week. Nope.
Friday morning at 9:55am I got a call from Ritchie and he said he was on his way to my house. I was at work and told him to give me about 30 minutes. He showed up and was very pleasant, he was presentable and ready to see my problem. It was a horrible plumbing issue that resulted in a leak in my second floor bathroom. It took him a while to get it fixed because of the shotty work done before. He was funny, a really nice guy and I felt safe being alone with him in my home. And women, you know that's important! My leak was so bad he had to come back after another call to finish it up.
Once he was finished he cleaned up, talked to me for a bit and left. It was a great experience. I can't say that your experience will be the same but I found that if you treat others with respect you'll get respect back.
Melissa B.I am a local landlord with a few larger dual zone homes and pay cash for my HVAC needs. This company routinely provides professional, knowledgeable, courteous technicians to service my needs for minimal cost.
I was exceptionally impressed with my service today (via my tenants comments and my experience setting up the service with myself being financial liable) to write a review. I was shocked, since I have been using them for years, and tenant after tenant is pleased with the speed and professionalism while I have no qualms with the bills!
I highly recommend this company. When I lived in the Hampton Roads area full time, I reported a few HVAC companies to the BBB for some suspect behavior. I wish I found this company years ago!
