Think twice
Absolutely ridiculous how SLWA handles repairs. My aunt and uncle have had a sewage back up since Friday, June 2, 2023. It is now Wednesday night, June 7, 2023 and SLWA have sent two different people to fix the issue, but both ""experts"" have said they do not have the right equipment. My aunt and uncle ( which are in their mid 70s) have not been able to use any water or flush a toilet in over five days and the issue still has not been fixed. Think twice before you waste your money on this company.
Worst company ever! For over two weeks they sent over plumbers who would need to get something done. Meanwhile, sewer gasses were filling my house making my 83-year-old mother and myself sick! It still needs to be fixed and we are still waiting.
It was very interesting to find my name on this Yelp for SLWA. I decided to go with the water line and the sewer line policy however I wanted to make sure this wasn't a scam before I sent it off to them, so I called the phone number asking the person for more information. She said she wanted to enroll me on the phone because it would be easier and quicker. I said no, that I just wanted more information. She wanted my name so I gave it to her and then she spent quite a bit of time telling me what a wonderful company it was why the address on the envelope and the address on the form were different etc. You can imagine my surprise when I looked on Yelp and guess whose name was signed up for this service. I would guess that this is ""almost"" if not a total scam! I will not be a part of this!
Madeline D.I am a first time user and possibly a last time user... We had a service call for a leaky toilet valve, not working at all.!! The plumber that was sent said he could not repair it since this valve is considered a 'faucet'' and not covered..by our warranty................... A valve is NOT a faucet but a necessary piece needed for a toilet to function !! I am a senior lady. i have replaced one in my day............. He did offer to replace this for a fee of $157.00............................or if we purchased the valve he would replace it for $99.00. It was agreed it might take 5 minutes to replace !! i am in search of a neighbor to help us out. So much for signing up on a warranty.
I did call service line warranty and got no where...........I requested a supervisor call me back. Doubt that will happen.. soooooooo thats my story and I am sticking to it !!!!
All they do is Jerry rigg, patch jobs, never ever fix the actual problem. And now I'm out of more than $2000 dollars cause for the pass 4 years and constantly having them come out, constantly inconvenience, they never fix the issue. The send boot leg plumbers and the plumbers that are honest with them they tell them to do patch jobs. You'll be more inconvenience than the money you'll spend. And then in the end you spend a lot of money. Worthless..
Review for SERVICE LINE WARRANTIES of AMERICA, 7134 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421. This company provides insurance for the pipe that runs from the water company turn on at the street, up to your house turn off valve that is outside of the house. The water company does not cover this, and neither does most home owner's insurance companies. It can be h*ll expensive to fix anything to do with this pipe.
On Jan 7, 2021, my outside shut off valve for water to the house broke. We had a leaky shower and we were trying to fix it and the valve would not turn off the water all the way, and then stuck in a partially off position. We have carried the Service Line Warranties insurance on the pipes between the house and the street. It should be noted that most home owner's insurance does not cover this pipe or repairs to it. I never used the ""warranty"" even though I paid it for about ten years and was not even sure it was legit or a scam because it costs only $5.95 a month. That seemed too cheap to be real, but my father bought it and I continued to pay for it when I moved in. I called the Warranties company and explained the problem. They told me they were sure it was covered (color me surprised), and that they would send a repairman out to check and see for sure that it was covered, at no cost to me at all (color me surprised again). They said if it was covered the repairman would fix it. Since we are in a Pandemic, they also said, anyone without water for cleaning is considered an emergency (YAH, three times surprised) and would be repaired ASAP. The same day, ANYTIME PLUMBING, INC., called me and said they were sending a man out for the Warranties company. They sent a man named RICK, looked about 50yo, and was very polite and pleasant. Rick said the problem was covered by the Warranties insurance and the whole turn off valve was rusted off and had to be replaced. It had been leaking water into the deeper ground under the house for a while even though it was not muddy on top (it was very muddy in the hole). I know a leak like that can cause foundation problems. I told Rick I noticed a jump in the water bill about a month ago when the shower faucet started leaking, so it may have started then. Rick said he would return the next day with the parts and complete the job. He spent the rest of the evening on that first day digging out a huge hole to work in. True to his word, Rick showed up the next day and replaced the valve with a shiny new piping and covered with a container cover. I'm elderly and not always comfortable with workmen at my home. But Rick was amazing. Five star ALL THE WAY. He wore a mask the entire time even though he was outside and didn't need to. He explained each step of what he was doing and that he would need access to electric for some of the tools, and he made me feel exceedingly comfortable, and also did an exceptional job that included clean up. It was really the best work I've had done by any repairman from any company! I highly recommend ANYTIME PLUMBING and their workman Rick, who does the outside work. But I know in the future, I will also be calling them for drains and inside work, too. I also highly recommend SERVICE LINE WARRANTIES (address above). FIVE STARS for work, repairs, billing, and professionalism from both companies!
The plumbing companies this provider uses constantly are trying to rip off their customers. I tried to contact them for help on resolving my issues and no one has responded. It has been a couple months since I first reached out to their resolution department (Sara) and have not heard back. I recommend searching for a more reliable provider.
Do not sign up with this company.
We did and it was a waste of money, their communication is non-existent. Our coverage lapsed after my card number was stolen and we had to have another one issued and once I needed the coverage I found it had expired and I never received a notification from them.
If you call them you have to hack into their phone system if you want to talk to a person and when/if you do, they will talk down to you like an abusive parent.
Most unprofessional company in history, please find someone else if you want a warranty.
James T.Checked out this, service. I got letter, in the mail. To see, if they.
measure up. Before, I agree. In any kind ,of transactions.
We had been paying for the warranty for about a year when our lines started to back up, they sent two on their ""plumbing contractors"" to see what the problem was and was told by both that there was no damage to the line When it backed up again for the 3rd time I called and they said I had used my two services for the year. I called a real plumbing company who ran another camera into the line and showed me where the pipe was channeled, both the companies Service Line Warranties Sent out ran a camera and said there was no damage..... I was forced to pay out of pocket $13,250 to have a tunnel dug under the slab and the old cast iron piping removed. After many calls and emails to service line warranties we received a check for $2,600. The cost of repair was $13,250 i have been sending emails daily with no response in the last three weeks I believe The policy has me covered up to $8,000 but the terms and conditions there web site has not been available in months and a request to have them sent to me was met with the response ""check our website""in short I would not recommend this company to anybody unless you just don't like that person. I'm still fighting to receive the rest of my reimbursement and an looking into legal action. I don't have that kind of money readily available
