In March 2000, Leland Smith established Service Champions Plumbing, Heating, and AC. In 1979, Leland Smith started his career in the air conditioning industry. He acquired essential skills while in Kentucky, where he grew up. Leland’s brother had an HVAC business and welcomed him to Southern California in the 1990s. During this time, Leland soaked up knowledge and started his first comprehensive HVAC business. He eventually sold that venture and established Service Champions in 2000. Their customer service, specially in keeping their scheduled appointment, made about 2 months ago, is more than disappointing, actually pretty disgusting.
They called today, after about 2 months, when they were supposed to come in 2 days, on July 31/24, and wanted to reschedule. They said I was very lucky, they have a special for me. They can offer me 2 appts. for the middle of September!
I said they must be crazy, by that time the summer will almost over.
They have all this advertisements on AM radio, saying how excellent their service is & on & on. From what I have experienced, I think they are full of it.

Good luck trying to reach them.

They installed an AC system in my house, and it works great. However, I've been trying for four days straight to contact someone to come out for an addition. Each time, I get transferred to different (sister) companies, put on hold for 10 minutes, and then hung up on. This is my fourth consecutive day trying, and I've had enough. I'm calling another company.

They encourage to email them if you have questions. They offer guarantee that you will save $88 on your electric bill. I emailed a simple question...""How do you determine $88 saving on electric bill..."" no response from them. I followed up with a second email, days later, with same question. Still no response. Is this customer service?

I've been asking to be removed from their junk mail list for about 8 months, and they continue to promise to remove me, while not actually doing so. And they reported my previous review to have it removed, so I'm sharing a new one. I'm happy to delete the review myself... once they follow through on their promise to stop sending me junk mail. Latest offense: July 2024.

Please stay clear of this service. Service champions send a senior technician to my house for an AC issue and the technician tried to charge me $3000 to replace the AC motor and circuit board. When he installed the parts, the AC still didn't work. my next-door neighbor went into my attic, looked at the system and replaced the capacitor which cost about $89 which we ordered on Amazon. I consider this elder abuse against service champions and you should not call them for service unless you'd like to get ripped off. In addition to misdiagnosing the problem, he was asked to put everything back the way it was when he first went up there he left all the parts in a pile cut the wires from the motor when they could've just been unplugged and switched the wiring on the circuit board, so that the system wouldn't work if I got a second diagnosis I'm very unhappy with the service I was provided

Last week when we had an A/C emergency during the heat wave, they could not schedule a repair appointment for 4 weeks. And we have a monthly service contract! We got another company to come the very same week. We loved JW Heating, but ever since they merged with Service Champions, every HVAC maintenance visit ended with attempts to upsell us major plumbing improvements. This was our first and last attempt to get service from these ""champions."" And yes, we cancelled the maintenence contract.
