Leland Smith entered the air conditioning field in 1979. He learned the trade while living in Kentucky, his home state. Leland’s brother had an HVAC business and welcomed him to Southern California in the 1990s. In this period, Leland learned extensively and opened his first full-service HVAC operation. I've been asking to be removed from their junk mail list for about 8 months, and they continue to promise to remove me, while not actually doing so. And they reported my previous review to have it removed, so I'm sharing a new one. I'm happy to delete the review myself... once they follow through on their promise to stop sending me junk mail. Latest offense: July 2024.

Please stay clear of this service. Service champions send a senior technician to my house for an AC issue and the technician tried to charge me $3000 to replace the AC motor and circuit board. When he installed the parts, the AC still didn't work. my next-door neighbor went into my attic, looked at the system and replaced the capacitor which cost about $89 which we ordered on Amazon. I consider this elder abuse against service champions and you should not call them for service unless you'd like to get ripped off. In addition to misdiagnosing the problem, he was asked to put everything back the way it was when he first went up there he left all the parts in a pile cut the wires from the motor when they could've just been unplugged and switched the wiring on the circuit board, so that the system wouldn't work if I got a second diagnosis I'm very unhappy with the service I was provided

Last week when we had an A/C emergency during the heat wave, they could not schedule a repair appointment for 4 weeks. And we have a monthly service contract! We got another company to come the very same week. We loved JW Heating, but ever since they merged with Service Champions, every HVAC maintenance visit ended with attempts to upsell us major plumbing improvements. This was our first and last attempt to get service from these ""champions."" And yes, we cancelled the maintenence contract.

We decided to have our air conditioner checked before the summer rush. I received a letter from the company & decided to take advantage of the $220 Precision Tune Up & Professional Cleaning for $88.

JT the serviceman was on time. He even had a mat where he took off his shoes & put booties as he entered our home. JT was well mannered, professional, knowledgeable & helpful.

Upon inspection, he found our condenser wires were not connecting so he cleaned & fixed the problem. He shared helpful information about our current unit & what new units are out in the market today.

My husband and I moved into our townhome less than a year ago, and around three months in, we signed up for the CHAMP-Rewards membership--it is such a great value. Each service call was easy to schedule and adjust as needed via phone and email. On the actual service dates, each person we interacted with was respectful of our property, super courteous, kind, and friendly. These attributes make them truly stand out for us--the customer service has been phenomenal.

[Plumbing Service - Fabian Madera] - The first service we had done was plumbing to address a strange odor that seemed to be coming from the sink pipes in our restroom. Fabian was on time, friendly, and very communicative about all he was doing to diagnose and address the issue. He ultimately made us decide to become CHAMP-Rewards members right from the start. On top of fixing the issue, he was very easy to talk to, and we appreciated his kind service!

[AC Maintenance - Noe Hernandez] - Noe performed a thorough inspection, tune-up, and cleaning of our AC unit. He shared a lot of helpful information and tips throughout the experience and did not mind the numerous questions I asked. I felt like I got so much out of this experience as a new homeowner, turning what some might see as typical home upkeep to a very fascinating learning experience. Noe was very meticulous and identified quirks about our unit that he was able to optimize. He was patient with our older unit and even provided tips for making our whole HVAC system more efficient. We appreciated Noe's time and kind service!

[Plumbing Service - Miguel Mendez and Sergio Flores] - Miguel helped put our minds at ease about a flooding situation we had with our laundry area. Our washer seemed to be draining into a location we could not fully determine, affecting our neighbor's property. Miguel also reached out to his manager Sergio to assist him, and both of them were super easy to talk to and knowledgeable. They determined how our pipes were set up and explained everything thoroughly, and as a new homeowner, this was especially eye-opening and helpful. Both Miguel and Sergio were detailed with their diagnostics and recommendations. I could not have been more pleased--so grateful for the wonderful service yet again!

Looking forward to sticking with these guys for the long haul because of their consistent thoroughness and easy-to-work-with friendly nature!
