For over four decades, Kevin Comerford and his family have been fulfilling the heating and air conditioning demands of homeowners in Northern California. Kevin completed his studies at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, graduating in 1994. Following his graduation, he joined his family's heating and air conditioning business. His parents sold the business to a $5 billion corporation in Dallas, Texas, after 25 years of ownership. Following six years in the corporate sector, Kevin opted to start a family-run, client-focused business, inspired by his parents' legacy from 1972. Thus, he founded Service Champions in 2002. With these core values, Kevin's company has grown to include more than 200 team members and has been in operation for 18 years. Currently, Service Champions provides services to homeowners across the San Francisco Bay Area, including East Bay, South Bay, and Sacramento.
Kevin makes his home in Pleasanton, CA, alongside his wife and three children.

Requested service for our gas tankless water heater. Quoted us $2000 for service or $8000 for a replacement unit. We looked up the model and it's $1,000. When we questioned him he gave a lot of excuses that didn't make any sense. This company isn't honest. See other reviews that say similar experiences.

We are really pleased with Service Champions. We had our annual inspection for our AC/Furnace. He also checked out our water heater and tap water quality too. Trevor was super nice and courteous. He explained everything to me in detail and answered all my questions. Really pleased with the company and the service they provide.

After a great experience with client consultant David Frew the installation was quite an experience. The crew got here at 8 a.m and after setting up and prepping the house when they took out the unit it was the wrong size. They then had to call all over to get the right size as someone had "" given"" them the wrong unit. Finally found one and had to drive mikes away to get it - they began the install around
1 pm . Work wasn't done until almost 5. They left pretty exhausted ( can't say I blame them) and didn't show us how to operate unit. After they left we examined the mini- split and opened it look at how to clean the filters and the cover fell off.
We had to call them the next day to put it it on. When Joel came out he had to put it together and spent time explaining how to use the unit. Thank you Joel.
Then we called the office to get someone out to pick up the check for install. We were told someone would be out between 4-5. Never came. Another day wasted. Finally after calking them on the third day they were able to come and pick up payment. All in all a very confusing experience. While the CSR STAFF of Debbie and Karen were great to deal with there sure were some communication issues and some mistakes made. The crews were professional but the whole experience was not fun.

Air conditioning inspection

Barrett Claytor the service rep that came out to perform a tune up on our AC unit did an amazing job going through our whole AC system and taking care of a few items that needed repaired. He really took the time to explain what he was doing and why. I wish all service people that worked on our house had a great attitude like Barrett. The most important quality about him was his honesty and transparency. I would highly recommend service champion to all my friends

I purchased 2 bd 40 year old mobile which had old compressor and I thought heater. Service Champions came out went all thru it then salesman came to give me a quote. I was told heater over 20 yrs old AC orginal the written quote was $26 000! I knew too high one item was $8,000 for all new duct work. When I questioned he brought that down to $2,000 for sealing ducts. I got 2 more quotes from licensed HVAC companies had work completed for $8200! Was told my heater was only 8 yrs old not 20 didn't need replacing. Also ductwork installed in mobiles at factory, built into mobile you never replace. This man saw a 74 year old lady living in mobile and completely lied to me, I feel It's criminal. I never write reviews but if I can save one person from being taken advantage of by this company it's worth it.

Prices? Holy smokes.
Literally 8-15 times the price is 90% of the other companies. The minute they walk in, they will recommend replacing your unit.
I declined Service Champs quote and went with a few other companies and these other respectable 5 star companies quotes for replacing we're about the price of repairing the unit with Service Champs. Replacing was quoted as literally 3-4 times what other companies quoted.
This isn't right. They seem to pray on people who don't understand how to get multiple quotes.
Ridiculous

James Sassen, came to my home to install the scrubber on my furnace, and he did the job efficiently. I could tell that he was very well trained. Can't recommend this business. On the recommendation of a relative who had them do a rather involved heat-pump installation for them, I reached out to inquire about a central-air furnace replacement at our property, and they happily scheduled a technician to come out and assess the job. Then they cancelled on the day of the appointment and asked me to reschedule. This I did, and got another appointment about 2 weeks in advance. They sent numerous reminders and asked me to confirm, which of course I did. Then, on the morning of the appointed day, they cancelled again. It seems pretty clear that they're not interested in doing this job, but if that's the case then they could certainly find a less inconvenient way of communicating this.

30 mins on the phone to just TRY to schedule an estimate. Had to repeat my info twice, and wait on hold for extensive periods of time to only be told they can't come out to even give an estimate for several weeks. What a waste of time.
