Leland Smith entered the heating and air conditioning field in 1979. After selling his earlier plumbing, heating, and air conditioning company in 1997, Leland established Service Champions in March 2000. Service Champions operates as a full-service residential heating and air conditioning company from its base in Yorba Linda, California, catering to homeowners in all of Orange County and parts of LA, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties. Currently, Service Champions has a workforce of more than 100 employees. The foundation of Service Champions rests on one core principle: to provide champion-level service by consistently surpassing your expectations.

Service champion Tech Cody Osieck reported to my home and serviced my furnace. He was on time and very thorough in the servicing of my furnace. He explained everything that he did and was very nice and professional. He completed his job with excellence!

I had a membership with Service Champions that included an inspection of my furnace. A very nice technician came to do the inspection and cleaned the motor. He told me that my furnace was unsafe and needed to be replaced. He called in to his office and asked that a supervisor come the next day due to the safety situation and discuss pricing options for a replacement system.
The supervisor came the next day and gave me pricing options of $19,000 to $22,500 to replace my furnace and air conditioner. I asked for a written quote. The quote I received had no detail about the materials for the job. I asked how long the quote would be good for and he would not give me a time frame. He tried to pressure me into making a decision immediately.
The next day I had a different licensed contractor inspect my furnace. With the exception of the system being old, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, nor was it dangerous. He quoted me a price of $8,000 to replace the furnace and a/c.
If you are considering Service Champions, don't let yourself be pressured into signing a contract on the spot and get several quotes before you make your decision.

First off, a ""BIG THANK YOU to Service Champions team who brought their outstanding workmanship and knowledge of their trait to what they do. They are: Xavier Solis (Service Tech), Matthew Croteau (Supervisor), Neil Dam (Lead Installer), Josue Guijarro (Apprentice Installer), and Eddie Tepale ( Trainee). I truly appreciate the great job from all these hard workers, and I'm sure Leland Smith knows how lucky he is to have these men apart of his organization.
Thank goodness I have my regular maintenance by Service Champion on my heating and air unit yearly!! Since I knew the fall weather would soon get colder I scheduled my appointment with Service Champion to have the maintenance on my furnace. Xavier Solis (Service Tech) was scheduled November 11, 2021 showed on the time scheduled, professional, with mask and bootie's and ready to do the job. During the inspection Xavier found my furnace had a carbon monoxide leak in the unit. With his findings he explained where he thought the leak was coming from was from the Heat Exchanger. He said he needed a second opinion from his supervisor, Matthew Croteau to give his professional second opinion so I agreed. Matthew and Xavier came on the next evening and worked taking the unit apart to determine where the leak was coming from. After over a hour they found the leak was indeed coming from the heat exchanger just as Xavier thought. Since my furnace was 12 years old I decided to replace the furnace, and installer replaced it today. And just know, I am very pleased with the work and highly recommend Service Champion. We have a service membership with Service Champions (previously AVIS). We receive amazing service every time a technician comes out to service our HVAC. Today, technician Edward Han went above and beyond! He came out today to service our heater and explained everything thoroughly. He was so sweet and helped my disabled dad around the house to show him the work he did (My dad likes to be hands on with repairs so he was very curious). He even helped us schedule an appointment to get our water heater checked out. The repairs were covered by our warranty and the new filter was more affordable with our membership discount. Thank you Edward! We hope to see him again for future maintenance!

This company has exceeded my expectations! Was not easy replacing heater and ducts under the floor of my 1956 home. The heater equipment is in a concrete, rectangular space, with access through an even smaller trap door in the floor! From the sales rep to all the guys doing the various phases of the work. Professional, knowledgeable, strong work ethic! Even did some extra things, above and beyond. Thx Mike, Ruben, Johnny, Christian, Alejandro!!

Thanks to Ryan Calvano who completed the annual service for my furnace. He also checked the ac unit and the hot water heater.
He was prompt, courteous, thorough, and knowledgeable. He installed a small hanger shelf to the wall in my shoe closet. (A good deed)

I was very impressed with the professionalism of our service technician, Jose Cayetano. He arrived on time, observed all Covid protocols and took the time to explain the repair options available to us. He even went as far as doing a ""good deed"" and fixed an aggravating issue I had been having with my dishwasher draining properly...at no charge!

I called them per suggestion from their service guy on yelp. The lady just wanted to charge $99 dollars for a diagnostic visit ever after I told her that the Gas company said that only the Watts 210 valve needs to be replaced. I told her all other plumbers offer free visit, she still tried to get me to pay her $99. I said thanks, then the phone was shut off.

I've had great experiences with the service techs and tune ups. The ones I've come into contact with have been extremely professional, friendly and pay attention to details that all homeowners would appreciate.
My negative experience came when a bigger repair was needed. Our tech came back with his manager, that just seemed to keep pushing for a larger repair project then needed and failing to offer alternative options. With personal experience in sales, it was a negative experience the they type of sales tactics that was used.
Service Champions are professional and courteous, but I recommend doing your due diligence and checking with competitors on options and pricing. Long story short, I got my problem solved elsewhere for much less then the quotes and options provided.

I was very pleased with the HVAC services that Service Champions had provided for my uncle, not only once but TWICE.
Paul Marceau, the technician that was assigned for this job did a wonderful job! At the beginning, I thought no one would have the patience enough
to take their time explaining all the process to my uncle, because of all the questions he had for them and my uncle had some hard time understanding due to old age. However, Paul Marceau took his time explaining thoroughly to my uncle which I really appreciate it for that!! The second time he came, he bought his mentee (Azul if I spelled his name wrong, I am sorry). They both did a wonderful job because of the kindness and patience that they have shown to my uncle! Whenever they finished with their work, they would clean up themselves neatly and thoroughly, just like how it was before they came in. Therefore, I would definitely recommend this type of service to my relatives and friends in the future! Thank you!
PS. This service was done during COVID pandemic, and they followed all the safety protocol (5/5) .
