Our home appliance warranty service company scheduled an AC tuneup for us with Sermon. They were to call us within 1 business day to schedule an appointment. We waited a full 7 business days later and no response. The lack of response is extremely unprofessional. To ignore the service repair given to them is not only frustrating, but was also a week and a half of wasted time for us.

Not sure why the wildly varying reviews but we have dealt with Sermon on about 6 occasions. Yea, sometimes you pay for a service call and its a miss, but they can't work for free. As for these parts markups, the prices I have been quoted were about the same or 10% more than me ordering it myself, so again, no huge markups from my experience.

Our heat is currently out and they actually brought over some loaner space heaters because the part was 3 days out. The installed price for the part I need is only around $80 more than having it overnighted. Pretty honest prices in my cases.....

I was told by another HVAC company this morning that my air conditioning unit's compressor had failed and the entire system needed to be replaced. My husband called Sermon, and within a couple of hours , the wonderful Alan showed up, checked everything out, replaced two fuses and voila, system works perfectly. Thank you for being an HONEST, efficient, and wonderfully friendly company. You will be the company we call ""First"" the next time we need any service done!

How much to install an electric water in a mobile home after the owner and brother remove the old and disposed it. How about $1775!

My water was off and I'd been without hot water for 4 days. Service person arrived on time at 1 p.m. to install a new electric tankless hot water heater and a water softener; both were purchased at Sam's Club. Total price for both was approximately $710.

Sermon Service and Electric installer said the electric tankless water heater would be inadequate for my mobile home, (I'm a 77 year old widower living alone). I was told a gas tankless, which Sermon Electric sells, would do the job, estimated cost would be about $2500. Limited area in my laundry room required a tankless if I wanted a water softener installed. However, he said the country code required separate lines running to all my cold water outlets, the existing water system would have to be upgraded. Total cost for the new gas tankless water heater and installation of my new a water softener? How about $4-$6 thousand dollars?

Since I was ""over a barrel"" and needed my water turned back on and hot water, he gave me a price for a mobile home approved 50 gallon electric water heater installed: $1775. It took him about 1 hour to run back to the shop and pick up the water heater and install it in my home.

Adding insult to injury, I later got online and checked Home Depot price for the exact same model of a Rheem mobile home approved 50 gallon water heater and discovered the price to be $650. In retrospect, I could have had them deliver and install for about $200 or less which would have brought the total cost to approximately $850, (or less). That's $950 difference: Sermon Service and Electric more than doubled the cost, and that assumed they paid the same cost for the heater that I would have paid at Home Depot. For the reasons stated, I would not recommend this company. Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and get your appliances, have them deliver and install, save $$$$$$$.

I was disappointed with their service. These are the things that disappointed me.
1-No estimate was given.
2-The electrician seemed to be either going as slow as possible or didn't know what he was doing.
3-He took 9.5 hours to remove two light fixtures and install a ceiling fan and fixture.
4-He left twice and when I went outside I found him sitting in truck. He didn't itemize bill so I have no idea if he charged me for the time he was sitting in truck.
5-Dry wall crew felt he should drill holes for new fixtures before they started so they could fill in if hole was too big. However electrician insisted on drilling after the dry wall was finished and painted.
6-Hole was too big.
7-After the light fixture was installed he told me to take it down and use a ceiling medallion to cover up the hole. I asked if this would mean I would have to unwire and rewire, he said, ""yes but it's not hard.""
8-He didn't itemize bill.
9-He asked me to make check out to someone other than Sermon.
10-He told me I should get my husband to take some electrical courses so I don't have to pay for service in future. I'm not married.

Called them with a breaker switch that wasn't working. They came out that day, diagnosed the problem and solved it in less than an hour. They were friendly, comfortable to work with, and did a good job. I will use them again.
