I had Semper Fi come out to service my AC 2 years ago. They said the AC was broken and it needed to be replaced for $9k. I called another company and they replaced the fan motor for $300 and it's had no issues 2 years later. I'm only leaving the review now because they call me every 2 weeks to see if I want my AC serviced. No thank you, I will never be using your scam company.

Air conditioner installed a year ago. Unit was delivered scratched, fins bent and faded. Was informed it was normal. Requested a new unit but they refused to replace it. Tech came out to repair fins. They are still bent and faded. Unit has not worked correctly since installation. Its supposed to be energy efficient and save 60% in cooling costs. It costs more to run this brand new air conditioner than it did to run the 15 year old one they replaced because it is constantly running. Does not cycle off and on. Appointments scheduled to fix the issue but tech was either a no show, cancelled due to volume or they rescheduled just to not show up again. I have only one appointment that they showed up within the time frame they provided. Still waiting for the warranty call to fix the issue. They were very good before the unit was installed. Once installed, service goes downhill.

Due to my husband retiring after 24 years of military service, so we thought we would support a local veteran owned company. That was a mistake. Semper Fi told us we had all kinds of issues that turned out not to be true after getting not only a second opinion, but also a third opinion. We have a 9 year old (2014) 4.0 ton, Trane rooftop unit, that wasn't keeping cool. The Semper Fi technician told us our unit was pretty old, uses the old Freon R-22, our coils were the old copper coils (not aluminum), and most of the equipment was generally failing.

After looking at our unit, the technician told us he had a few options for us. During the presentation my husband asked how much a new unit would cost, roughly. Instead of a general estimate, we got the classic ""binder presentation"" with no numbers until the end of sales pitch, as well as financing options, etc.

First option is that he could replace the Condenser Fan Motor from 1/6 - 1/3 (capacitor included) for $3416 (after military discount), but that fix would only be temporary and might get us through the summer. The best option is to replace the whole unit! He gave us 2 options, a new 5.0 ton unit (which would generally be considered oversized for the square footage of our home for $22,536.00 ($17,128.80 after military discount), or a 4.0 ton unit (correct size) for $16,533.00 ($11,900.40 after military discount).

No maintenance was actually completed by Semper Fi. We had a second company come out, spent some time actually servicing the unit and told us the unit does not need replacing. We were told our unit does in fact use the new Freon R410 (which they topped off) and that it does have the aluminum coils not copper. They are replacing the condenser fan motor (which is a warranty part, Semper Fi wanted $3416). We even went as far as to having a third technician (65.00 fee) complete an inspection this morning to confirm. Everything Semper Fi told us was false. The total of our repairs, because of going with a different service, cost us $725 for leaky shrader valve, 2lbs of Freon, and the labor for replacing the covered Trane warranty part (condenser fan motor), along with a $65.00 fee for the third opinion/inspection. Total cost $790.... An incredible savings. Make sure you get a second, and in some cases, even third opinions/inspections when dealing with Semper Fi.

I got a new unit installed. it is noisy. the gentleman that came an serviced my old unit was top notch. you might see him in their add. the guys that installed my new unit. very good. but this unit wakes me up in the middle of the night. they came back out and of course they shut it off. checked this and checked that and didn't make the noice that it makes 95% of the time. I was told I was going to get a call from this guy and that guy. I would have to call them back everytime. the kind of money you spend on a new unit you would think it would be quiet. my old one didn't make the noise this one does. they told me you should asked for this one not the one you got. well I'm not an ac exporter. that is why I hired these guys.
don't be fooled. go with someone besides these guys. service my you know what.

This company is a total rip-off. The service call I arranged was to replace a simple $15(retail price) capacitor on my A/C unit but to my amazement, the final bill was almost $450 for less than an hour service time. After asking for an explanation, the service person made the excuse that the company has a lot of service vans and a lot of expensive advertisement, as if that is the customers fault. When contacted the company for a further explanation on the outrageous bill, I was told by their ""service manager"" he'll call back to assist with this bill but nobody from that company called back.
Customers in need of air conditioning service beware of this company!!

I had Semper Fi heating and cooling come to my house to do a tune up to get ready for our hot season. Their serviceman told me I needed my capacitor and contractor replaced and if I didnt do it right away it would most like cause my compressor to fail. He also recommended that he put on a Hard Start due to my unit being over 5 years old. He told me the total cost would be $1,200. $528 to put in the capacitor, $480 to put in the contractor and apparently the rest of the $1,200 was for the hard start. When I told him I would have to think about it, he quickly lowered the price to $702. He said that if I didnt do it now, he could almost guarantee that it would go out the next time I used it. I told him to go ahead. I then went on line and found the exact same capacitor for $19.99, the most expensive contractor that would work for my unit cost $42 and the Hard Starts ran between $20-$40. All three parts totaled less than $100 and it took him less than 15 minutes to install all three. The capacitor was nothing more than unplugging the old one and plugging in the new. Yet Semper Fi charged me over $500 in labor just to do this 60 second job. When I discovered how bad I had been ripped off I called and asked to talk to their manager. The lady I talked to was very apologetic and told me they were very busy now but see was sure the manager would call me back by the end of the work day. After a few days when no one called back, I left a couple reviews telling my story. with in 10 minutes I received a call from a manager telling me he was sorry and their tech did not act in accowith their company police's and that he would have a check cut by the end of the week. I did eventually eventually get a check from them after mutilple calls from me and from the better business bureau to the company over two months later. I have notice similar complaints about the company. My advice to you if you is if you use this company and they over sell or under deliver, contact the BBB and have them help you. Apparently their BBB rating means more to them than customer service.

Since my husband spent 20 years in the USMC, we were happy to find a company with the name "" Semper Fi""! We believed it was a company we could trust!! We're we ever WRONG!!!! We have had nothing but problems with our unit from day one!
In my opinion, the only competent and honest tech from this company is Dominic!! He is too good to work for such an unethical company!!!

The technician arrived promptly and was very knowledgeable. We had him replace our AC fan motor and I was contemplating purchasing a new Goodman AC system from him until I learned the price of the fan motor he was installing. I did a quick check - the motor retails for $161.00. He claimed the usual installation price is $932.16 but, I get 20% savings since I am a Vet and it only will cost us $776.80. My research shows the highest price for this service in the Valley is $750.00 (others are much lower) for the unit and work performed. We went ahead and paid him - hey your stuck with no AC and I am 80 - got to have it! I then thought the 20 percent discount would follow the same scenario on a whole house unit whereby there isn't any savings at all over other competitors - and the 20 percent is just an advertising gimmick, which is why we decided to hold off on purchasing a Goodman unit from Semper Fi.
