Jessica D.I'm kind of baffled by the bad reviews. Our experiences have only been positive, and we've being using Seibold's plumbing services for about 15 years. Most recently we had a house catastrophe - we came home to frozen pipes after a vacation. Seibold's plumber got to our house that night and worked late that Saturday and half of Sunday, scrapping his personal plans to help us. His experience enabled him to find the exact spot where a pipe in the ceiling was cracked, without having to tear apart our entire ceiling. We were up and running much sooner than anticipated, and even with the weekend work the final bill seemed pretty reasonable to us. We are big Seibold fans and recommend them to everyone!
DON'T USE THESE GUYS....rip off!
You CAN use them, if you only want what they fix to last about 5 months and then you have to call them again...to fix the same problem...for another huge chunk of change.
Like another reviewer, I called them to question the billing time and they told me as well ""we charge you for the time the plumber had to go out and get the part."" Like the other reviewer, the part was IN HIS VAN PARKED RIGHT OUTSIDE the house!... and this guy spent so much time talking to his wife on his cell about what they were going to have for dinner!!!!!
FIND SOMEONE ELSE....these guys will rip you off any way they can and their work isn't even up to par, let alone lasting. Anything they've fixed for us lasted a MAX of 6 months...and they've done a few jobs here...but no more!
Mauro D.I came home from work one night and my basement ceiling looked like Niagara Falls. In a panic, I called the only plumber whose number was in my phone - Siebold Plumbing and Heating. This was against my wife's advice. ""He overcharged charged us last time he came for the heat!"" she said. Lesson one: Listen to your wife's advice!
So, I reluctantly called Siebold with my basement flooding something awful. The phone rang and rang and there was no voicemail setup. After several tries, I got through. I explained that I had a serious leak in my basement and couldn't find the source. With absolutely no sense of urgency, the plumber says to shut off the water and he'll come by in the morning.
The next day, the plumber shows up about an hour after he said he would. I show him the leak, I show him the kitchen pipes above the leak and he shrugs and says he can't figure it out. He said he is working up the street on another job. He tells me he's gotta go, but that I should pull apart the cabinets under my sink and look under the fridge to see if I can figure out where the water came from. He said to call him back if I can figure it out and he'll come back.
After an hour of running the kitchen sink, pulling up tiles, taking out the baseboards and searching for the leak (all the shit one normally pays a plumber to do), I finally discovered a small leak under the kitchen sink.
I took a photo of the leaking pipe, texted it to the plumber and called him back over. He came in, looked in the basement and then told me that he doubts that little leak made all that water. Then he said the leak was probably a problem with my fridge. I explained that the floor under the fridge was bone dry and he shrugged. He said that the plumbing under the kitchen sink was definitely half-a$$ed, but didn't offer to replace anything or fix the obvious leak that I showed him.
He told me an amusing anecdote about finding a bag of pot during a plumbing job he did one time then paused and awkwardly stood waiting for me to say something. Then he turned and left and said to call him again if the leak starts again.
The entire experience lasted a total of about 15 minutes and that includes both trips to my house and the timid ask for weed. A month later I was billed $115 for this. The kicker is; the bill was sent to my father's house (he was the one who initially referred Siebold to us) and my Pops paid the bill as a gift to me. Had I actually received the bill I would not have even paid it.
This whole experience was adding insult to injury because about 6 months before this experience, we called Siebold Plumbing and Heating to help us with a heating issue. The plumber came for about 45 minutes and then charged us for TWO HOURS. When we complained about this, we were told that they added the time it took the plumber to go and get the part he needed for the job. The part was in his van which was parked in my driveway right outside!
I know, I know: ""Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."" Don't let this lesson cost you $300+. Listen to my wife - CALL SOMEONE ELSE!
Stay away. Two reasons:
1. This company quoted about $500 more than my other two quotes.
2. When I went with a more cost-effective option, Siebold called the town building department and told them that I was doing illegal work. This was not true, so it ultimately wasn't a problem, but it was an unwelcome round of phone calls from various town inspectors.
Elizabeth S.The man knows his art! In and out in record time while Perfecting the plumbing project.
Plumbers cost so we don't need to go there but the price was within reason.
Neal M.The building and management company speak well of the company.
I'm happy to offer positive comments as well.
Last year some basic plumbing and HVAC advise, price reasonable service fast.
This year faster service and follow up to my 20 year old a/c.
Freon recharge and a forthcoming quote to a new system all in 24 hours.
Thanks Kevin, thanks Seibold, from minor plumbing to repair of a/c you get first call.
They came out to fix my leaking 2nd floor shower drain as I was just too busy. They replaced the drain from above in the shower and, despite my suggestion, did not feel the need to seal the drain from below nor look at any potential water damage that may have been caused between the 1st and 2nd floors. I paid them $85. It began leaking again about 5 weeks later from the repaired drain, not the trap or other pipes. I opened up the 1st floor ceiling to be sure. Luckily, there was no water damage. I spoke directly to Dave Sielbold and said that he needed to properly fix and seal the drain. Although I had already paid him $85, he wanted another $300-$400 to do the work from below. I went ahead and did it myself, spending about $55 on materials.
