Just want to warn people that this guy seems to have taken over the phone number that used to belong to Davis Mechanical, which was a good company. The owner died and now when you call their number you get Flannery who pretends he used to work for Eric Davis for many years. How he did that while also owning his own company I don't know. Beware!
Linda B.Do not by any means hire Seaway Services. William Flannery is a con artist and disreputable. He charged me $11.000 for heat and hot water, and left me with neither. He uses day laborers who did squat but sit in the car with the heater running while I sat in my freezing home with 3 small dogs with no heat. My house filled with smoke setting off smoke alarms due to equipment malfunction. He is a disgrace and should be put out of business. I got totally ripped off by this company as a single, desperate woman. Buyer beware please. Do not hire them.
We called Seaway Services on 7/9/14 to repair an issue with our central AC. Our unit ran well, had great air flow, and cooled the house down; however, on very hot days when it was working hard the pipe would freeze up and we would have to shut the unit off for an hour to defrost it. The owner came out and after a very quick 'assessment' gave us an estimate to replace the coil for $1500. Said he would wrap the unit and the duct work under the house as well. After my husband and I discussed it, we thought it seemed like a good deal so we called and let them know we would like to proceed. The owner came back about 6 that night to collect his $1,000 deposit he requested. It seemed odd that he wanted the check made out directly to him instead of his business but we figured with the extra duct wrapping he said he would do he wanted it 'off the books'. He must've been at the bank the next morning waiting for them to open because the check was cashed first thing the next morning (a Thursday). He said he would be able to do our repair that day as well (since I am pregnant and not wanting to be uncomfortable we were looking for it to be done asap) after he picked up the parts in Braintree. Some guy he sent over came in the morning, sat in his truck then said he was going to get a coffee while waiting for the owner to show up. About 2-3 that afternoon, they finally came back. The owner put the coil in real quick and left this other guy to wrap the unit under the house (then said he wasn't wrapping all the duct work, just that main unit). The other guy mentioned the owner was in a rush because he was going on vacation with his wife. Convenient since he just cashed our check, was at the house for an hour, and was then leaving on vacation? This guy finished wrapping the unit and left. When I came home, the AC wasn't working. At all. So we just ok'd this company's $1500 estimate, gave him $1000 deposit, he replaced what he claimed was our problem, and the unit doesn't even work now. Before he touched the unit it actually worked most of the time, now it wasn't working at all. Over the course of the next week it took to get our issue 'repaired', he sent out guys he subbed from other businesses (must've been a friend of his and they never showed up until after 3pm any of the days they came) who still couldn't fix the problem and get the unit running, and every time we talked to him on the phone all we heard was how much it was inconveniencing HIM that our issue wasn't fixed yet. That his wife was mad at HIM because HE couldn't take a vacation. That it was costing HIM money to keep sending these other people out. What kind of business tells their customer that their inconveniencing them???? Especially a customer who is pregnant and has no AC for a week of 90 degree weather, keeps seeing guys that supposedly don't work for you come and go without fixing anything, all they hear from you is how inconvenienced you are, never once acknowledge the customers feelings or apologize for them being so uncomfortable and hardly getting any sleep for a week, never actually having any customer service at all! One morning he even called at 6 am and said to forget about the balance of $500 since we're right down the street he would take care of it because the guys he's sending out don't know what they're doing. The last day he was here he brought a young kid who also didn't work for him but at least showed my husband a license and seemed more knowledgeable than the rest and it seemed to work from then on. The owner actually had the gall to ask for his balance after! I think he talks so much to get people to believe him that he can't even remember all the lies he's told people. Now a month later, the AC isn't working again. Again no air flow coming through the vents when we had great air flow before he touched it. His ""repair"" lasted a month at best. This unit worked before he touched it, now I have to call another company out to fix the problem because I am certainly never calling this company again. If they find he actually did more damage than repair, we will be taking him to court to pay for that.
